ELIANA It's the middle of the night when I feel my body being pulled against the bed and a scream erupts from my mouth as strong hands pin my hands above my head, pinning me down. Hands come over my mouth and muffles my scream. “Be quiet, little bird.” My eyes flew open and I became still at the sound of his voice. I nod after a moment and he pulls his hand from my mouth, my breathing heavy as my heart thumped against my chest. “Lu–Luca… what's—” I don't get the chance to complete my words when his mouth came down on me, claiming mine and I give in, melting on impulse into his touch. LUCA I thought I'd find my answer when I walked into her room and fucked her but all I found was even more shocking than that. My stupid heart, one that I didn't know had regrown, clenched like a sore motherfucker when I looked up at her face. I didn't find my answer, just the hurtful look of the very person I should have protected. Tears stained her face as she shivered against the duvet she'd wrapped around her body. “That wasn't a reward… that was a punishment.” Her voice was croaky and she sniffles. I reach out to her her and she jumps back, fear trapped in her gaze, edging near the bed’s end. The haze over my head washes away slowly and I felt an overwhelming pressure in my chest. LUCA “What the hell happened?” I directed my question to my clubhouse manager, Carlos, one of the few that I owned in the city and I watched him under the glaze of the neon lights in the room. We stood over the lifeless body of a young woman. She wouldn't be more than twenty five years old. Carlos trembled under my gaze, rubbing his palm against the other as he tried not to show much of his fear. “I–I’m not exactly sure how to explain this sir… she seemed to have consumed something strong and it knocked her up.” I scrunch my eyebrows, staring down at the woman before I turned them back to look at my manager. “I’m not sure I fully understand what you mean Carlos.” I say, biting out his name and he flinches at the stern tone of my voice, rubbing his hands furiously now. He avoids my gaze, looking everywhere but at me. “Well… you see… someone spiked her drink.” “Yes, so I've been informed.” The incident had caused a scene and striked panic within the customers. LUCA “Nothing.” “Bullcrap, Luca. What the fuck did you do to her? She's obviously mad at you.” I tsk-ed and Enzo watches me with a pointed look. It's been two days since I roughly fucked her that night because I was ravaged by anger and frustration at what she was making me feel. I was mad because I realised how much I've come to crave her body on mine. I was angry because my best friend might be right and I was— I wasn't going to admit that. I wouldn't. I couldn't. But I'd hurt her when I promised to protect her, I'd become the very people we despised and I'd made her cry. The memory of her face was an image that haunted my mind. LUCA Her shyness drags out a slow smile, I take one of her hand in mind, holding it between us by her wrist. “Isn’t there anywhere you've always wanted to go? Anywhere at all, I'll take you.” She goes quiet again, her forehead creases a little as she thinks. Then her eyes flutters and her lips part. “Maybe… an art shop…” I was taken aback by her answer, I didn't know why, actually, I didn't know what I was expecting. Eliana is a girl locked out from the world her entire life but I'd given her a once in a lifetime chance offer. I'd thought she'd take advantage of that. They always did. ELIANA My nerves were burning the closer time went by. I was finally leaving the mansion for the first time since I was brought here and it was because Luca wanted to take me out. It was our first outing together, a date… or at least I'd like to call it that and I guess I wasn't really mentally prepared. Matilda helped pick out my outfit. She always does, aside being part of her duties, I didn't know how to dress. I mean I could put on outfits that I like but I didn't exactly know the trends. Plus, something about going on a date with the fearsome mafia boss was extremely exhilarating, it made me super nervous. My straight blond hair is done in a light curl at the tip and held in a high ponytail. My makeup is light, even though I told Matilda not to bother with it. I've never worn any makeup before and I very much appreciate my natural features, Matilda threw my disapproval to the ground. LUCA “Do you like it?” Eliana gasps and steps away from the portrait. She turns on her heel to face me. She's been staring at a painting on the wall for a while now. She nods, looking back at it. “I thought it was pretty and it's very calming to look at.” It's a painting of a landscape. The sky is a deep blue, and the trees are a vivid green. There's a sense of peace and stillness in the painting. I see why she likes it but it was an utterly simple painting, I didn't understand what she was drawn to about it but she seemed to want it more than anything else on the walls. “Do you want it?” She flips back around to look up at me. Then she shakes her head, her curls bouncing around her face. “I was just looking...” She responds, lowering her gaze. She wanted it. I could tell because she's always been an open book to me, the want in her eyes were prominent. I placed a hand against the wall, caging her in and closing the space between us. ELIANA An impressive building stood in front of me as Luca carried me out of the car. He's being overly… sweet? It's not a personality that really suits his demeanour but I can't deny the fact that I liked it. Because he was being that way just for me. It brought out another supposedly, non-existent part of him that no one would ever phantom and it did strange things to my body. His gentle manliness was seemingly more than what I could take. And let's not forget just how breathtaking he was in his all-black attire. It was almost like he was dressed up for me. Almost. I wish.
