Chapter 12

Vera's POV

"He doesn't?"

I could see the disappointment on mother's face and I couldn't bear it

"No he doesn't.

He treats me even better "

I smiled and looked over to see Julius glaring daggers at me .

"Oh thank goodness.

I knew this was a perfect match.

Your father and I have something important to discuss with you two"

"We will discuss it over dinner but for now your mother and I need to rest"

He came to her and placed his hand at her side and she smacked him giggling as a blush ran across her cheeks.

Their love was so cute.

The maids carried their bags and their belongings were sent upstairs as they followed soon after

I felt a strong grip on my wrist and before I knew it I was being pulled upstairs by Julius and he threw me into his room kicking the door behind him.

"What do you think your doing?!"

My heart was racing.

Why did he lock the door?

He took long strides towards me

Taking my wrist again he pushed me against a wall and caged me to it.

"How dare you!

what game are you playing"

He spoke directly into my ear

"I'm not playing any games you are not familiar with"

I looked straight into his eyes as I spoke not letting his burning gaze faze me

"That would be the worst mistake you would ever make.

Your going to play along with this.

You don't have any other choice-"

"No!

You are in no position to threaten me here

Because the ball is now in my court and if I decide I can tell your parents everything from how you behave with me to the whole truth"

I saw the shock on his face as clear as day but it was gone as soon as it came.

"You wouldn't dare"

"Try me"

This time I wasn't going to back down nor was I going to loose another power struggle.

I pushed against his chest and walked past out of the room shutting the door behind me.

"See madam.

I told you Madam Violet was a nice person"

Selina and I were helping Mrs Juli make dinner while she ran out to get some more things we needed.

I was stiring the mixture we needed to make mother's favourite dish Paella.

"Yeah

She really is"

I smiled to myself almost laughing when I remembered the game I was going to play with her help I would hopefully give Julius a hard time.

"I do wonder what they want to talk about"

I looked at Selina and she tilted her head staring back at me.

"Yeah me too"

I wasn't really into this conversation. At least not like I was supposed to.

I was busy thinking about mother, my mother and my family that I left behind .

I didn't even get a proper good bye.

I needed to talk to them again.

"Do you know where Aldonis is?"

my question was so out of the blue that Selina just stared at me

"It's weird your asking but on weekends he is normally at home.

You could check his room, Julius's study ,cinema or the gym"

"I'll be right back"

I needed to find Aldonis and ask him for a phone.

I needed to find out how everyone has been doing and if they were okay.

I checked his room but he wasn't there.

Julius's study was going to be the last place I would check.

I walked into the gym and heard the treadmill on so I assumed it was Aldonis.

I walked in further to see weights of different sizes hung up and machines of different kinds.



When my eyes landed on who was on the treadmill I stopped in my tracks.

   It was Julius. He was shirtless and had only a pair of sweet pants on that sagged lazily.

I stared as my cheeks became hot.

Drops of sweat came rolling down from his wet hair to his bulging chests and I stared at his perfectly toned body with his perfectly sculpted abs. To be clear he had the body of a Greek god...

"So that's what we're looking at"

I jumped when I heard a voice behind me.

I turned to see Aldonis leaning behind me.

"You almost scared me to death.

It's not what you think"

My cheeks were red with embarrassment .

"Yeah.

It's what you were busy thinking over here"

I tried my best to whisper so Julius wouldn't notice us.

I just hope the head sets he had in his ears were on and he wasn't listening to us.

"What are you trying to say"

I raised a brow at him folding my hands against my chest.

"Oh you know exactly what I'm trying to say.

Any way we can stand here and talk or we could go somewhere you could focus "

I glared at him

"Selina said you were looking for me?"

We decided to go to my room to talk to avoid anyone hearing us.

I sat in my bed holding my pillow while Aldonis laid beside me and played with my scrunchy. He seemed to have a weird fetish for them.

"Yeah.

I needed to ask you a favour"

He stopped his fiddling and looked up at me.

"Okay"

"But Julius shouldn't know about it"

He physically tensed, sitting up.

"I don't think that would be possible Vera"

I got confused

"Why not.

I just need you to get me a phone,

since I'm not allowed to leave I should at least be able to talk to people"

"Who told you you wer-"

My door opened and Cyrus walked in.

"There you are.

Am I missing another meeting?"

He pulled one of his charming smiles at me and I just looked to Aldonis expecting him to come up with a good lie

"Actually not a meeting

Just gossip"

I was grateful for the cover up

"Then it's a good thing I brought my ears"

He jumped on Aldonis and he let out a loud yelp and I burst into laughter.

Aldonis fell out of the bed trying to get out of beneath him

"Thanks for making room "

Cyrus winked at Aldonis and I just laughed the more.

"Madame.

Dinner is ready.

Madam and Sir are already at the table with young sir"

Selina poked her head through the small crack in the door to relay the information.

"Okay.

We'll be right down"

She scurried off and I threw my legs to the edge of the bed and pushed myself up to my feet.

"Come on ladies"

I walked out and they followed behind.

We walked into the lavish dining room and I smiled at Mrs Chrysantos when she looked up at me.

I looked opposite me to see Julius glaring at me, I just rolled my eyes at him and took a seat.

After we all finished eating and the maids were taking our plates in ,Mr Chrysantos cleared his throat calling all our attention.

"So

You mother came all the way here to be a part of your wedding but considering the current situation.

Holding such a big event won't be safe so we decided to have you two married legally "

I immediately looked at Julius who was already looking at me

"Oh yes

And the lawyer would be coming tomorrow with the documents all you two need to do is sign them and you would be legally married so in the eyes of the law as well as everyone Vera would be a Chrysantos that is, once the papers and her signature have gone to the right places"

She was smiling as she spoke and the few times she looked at me I had to fake a smile.

This was really happening to me.

I couldn't see myself getting married to Julius and spending the rest of my life with him.

I doubt getting divorced was an option so I had to get used to this kind of lifestyle and being treated badly

"When you two are officially married you can go for your honey moon"

I froze

And my eyes went wide

Honey moon!

Me w-with Julius.

Hell no

"Honey

Isn't it a little too soon"

Mr Chrysantos held her hand

"But they will be married.

We went on honeymoon after our marriage "

She tried to convince him

"Yes but that was then.

Now they choose when he want to go. Okay?"

She visibly pouted and he gave her the side eye making her blush hard.

The rest of dinner went by peacefully and I was thankful to Mr Chrysantos for denying to honey moon idea.

The thought of Julius and I being in the same room for who knows how long made me shiver.

Hopefully I would never have to experience that.
