Annoying Farrell

Molly:

I smiled warmly at the two men sitting directly across from Farrell—the one I had met and the one I did not know. Then I whispered to the bothersome presence beside me.

“Probably what everyone else is trying to do, Farrell,” I said, quirking my brows at him.

“Not in that dress, you are not. Why are you wearing it?” Farrell inquired, his gaze darting down my body and back to my face.

Why was he making such a big deal about a dress? He did not hear me announce I had caught my husband and his ex-girlfriend kissing.

“Is this a business meeting or an interrogation?” I asked, tilting my head slightly and motioning to his associates. “They haven’t left.”

He glared at me, then let go of my arm and cleared his throat, as if the reminder had reset his senses.

“I am sorry, gentlemen, this is my wife, Molly,” he explained. Farrell introduced the person I had met as Ernesto Russo and the person I had not met as Theo Campbell.
