LOGINC3: Dark Figure
Raine ducked instantly as the arrows brushed past her hair, missing her by inches. She hugged herself tightly and slowly opened her eyes, wondering who had shot the arrows. “Are you alright?” she heard a man's voice ask in front of her. She slowly looked up from the large, calloused hand stretched out to help her, then to his face. She froze. “Mr Grip?” she gasped, her eyes widening as she stared into those gray ones. “It's you,” the man said softly as he helped her up. “You are quite swift. What are you doing here?” he asked as they walked toward a bench at the other end of the training ground. “I came with my parents. And you? Are you a warrior?” she asked as she sat down. “I am a warrior. My name is Raphael, Raphael Ezrae And you?” he replied, turning to her as a strand of his blond hair fell over his face. The name sank in, he is the son of the late former beta. Raine took a sharp breath as her heart began to race. She quickly looked away before she embarrassed herself. “Raine… My name is Raine Elmore Orion ,” she said, at first hesitant to say her full name but she still said it softly as she played with her fingers. “Raine. It's a beautiful name,” he said quietly as he repeated her name. “I didn't know I would meet the Alpha's daughter. Thank you for saving me, and I apologize for choking you,” he added as he turned fully toward her. “You're welcome, even though I nearly died. You gripped my neck so hard,” she said while rubbing her neck unconsciously. Raphael looked down for a few seconds, feeling guilty. “I'm sorry about that. I had to stay alert.” He had fought several rogues alone, and they had seemed trained and numerous. “Is that why you called me Mr Grip?” he asked with a chuckle, his dimples appearing. Raine stared at him for a moment before slowly nodding. Soon she began laughing as well. “Yes. I didn't know your name then,” she replied, pushing a strand of her red hair behind her ear. They chatted for a while before Raphael offered to escort her back to the general training ground since it was getting late. “It would be nice to have you around. Would you mind being friends with me?” Raphael asked, extending his hand to her. Raine stared at him in disbelief. She had no friends, and no one had ever wanted to be her friend. But the young man in front of her had not only thanked her for saving him, he had spoken with her freely and now wanted to be her friend. She hesitated for a moment before placing her hand in his. The difference in the size of their hands was obvious. “Thank you, Raine, for letting me see you again,” he said softly as his eyes looked deeply into hers. The Moon Goddess knew how much he had searched for her. The Alpha's Beta had refused to tell him who she was. “Raine. Raine, where are you?” Alice called out from a distance. Raine quickly pulled her hand away. “We will meet another time. When I am free, I can visit the training ground,” she said with a smile before turning to leave with quick steps. Raphael watched her retreating figure. The way her red hair swayed as she ran away made him want to call her back, but he stopped himself. Meanwhile, Alice glared at Raine. She had seen them together but had not gotten a clear view of the man Raine had been with. “Mother will certainly punish you for that. We came here to arrange my training tutor, yet you are here flirting with a man,” Alice said mockingly. “He is someone I know, and I wasn't flirting with anyone,” Raine corrected her with a frown. Alice chuckled and folded her arms across her chest. “Really, dear sister? He must be the one you were with last time that made you come home late,” she said thoughtfully. “I only saved him, nothing more,” Raine replied with frustration as she walked away. “You slept with him to save him, right? Because we all know how useless you are without your wolf,” Alice mocked. Raine did not respond. “How dare you walk away from me,” Alice said as she grabbed Raine's arm and forced her to turn back. Raine tried to pull her hand free, but Alice held on tightly. Seeing their parents walking toward them, Alice suddenly let go and staggered backward with a small cry. Her mother rushed to her, her face full of concern. “Are you alright, dear?” she asked. Alice shook her head softly. Raine watched them in disbelief. The next moment she felt a sharp slap across her face. “How dare you try to hurt her,” her mother shouted while Alpha Elmore simply glared at her. Raine said nothing. She was tired of explaining herself whenever Alice created trouble. It only led to more punishment and harsh words. She simply walked away. Some of the warriors who had noticed the scene stared at her with disgust as she left the training ground. That evening her mother ordered the maids not to give her any food, and she went to bed hungry. Raine woke up, but she was no longer in her room. She was in a smoky place. There were no houses and no people around. “R...ai...ne,” she heard a distant, broken voice call her. She looked around but could not see anyone, so she began to run. No matter how far she ran, it felt like she was trapped in the same place. Finally, she saw a figure as dark as the night standing before her with its back turned to her. “R...ai...ne,” it called again, its voice hoarse and broken, but louder now. She stepped back slowly, her eyes fixed on the dark figure as it began to turn. She caught a glimpse of one of its eyes. It was black and extremely dark, glowing strangely. The sight seemed to pull at her soul. Desperate to escape, she turned and kept running until she suddenly woke up with a gasp. She rubbed her temples. Her nightdress was damp with sweat, and her stomach growled loudly, reminding her how hungry she had been before she fell asleep.C74: Bared Feelings The moment its massive body fell aside, it revealed the figure that had gutted its heart out.Raine stared at the two-colored eyes glowing radiantly. She blinked slowly as the sight before her registered in her mind. The Grand Prince stood there with blood covering one arm. His eyes glowed brightly as his beast lingered close to the surface. The calm and controlled Male she knew was nowhere to be seen.Only a dangerous predator stood before her.A deadly smile rested on his lips as he crushed the remains of the beast's heart in his hand. Raine kept watching him as blood dripped to the ground from his palm. For a few moments neither of them moved.Lucian's attention turned back to her once he was done crushing the heart and let the little piece in his hand fall. His chest rose and fell heavily. She had heard of his brutality and bloodlust, that was what she witnessed now.The thrill in his eyes when he crushed the beast's heart, the dangerous smile on his lips that
C73: The Last Moment?Meanwhile...Raine held the reins tightly so she wouldn't fall off, her heart was long gone from its position to her stomach. The horse continued sprinting into that direction, some branches scratched her arms, while she dodged some that would have hit her face. The woods grew denser with every passing second. Then the horse stopped abruptly, Raine nearly fell forward off the horse. She managed to steady herself at the last moment, her heart pounding against her ribcage. She held the reins tightly while trying to steady her heartbeat as she took deep breaths.Once she steadied herself she glanced around taking in her surroundings. The woods were thicker now and denser now, she remembered Kaizen's words and frowned. ‘The thick woods he warned of.’ she muttered in her mind, she slowly reached for her bow, gripping it tightly and held the reins in one hand. She wondered why the horse had stopped abruptly.A low growl echoed through the forest.Raine froze instantly,
C72: Missing Raine.Once they rode out, Kaizen stopped his horse briefly.“You are to stick to the clear woods” he said sternly and glanced at them for a moment.“Avoid the thick woods if you want to be intact, we are to gather at the center of the woods with our hunts once you see the signal in the sky” He said with a smirk and rode off.Raine pressed her lips tightly and rode her horse carefully through the woods. Unlike the others, she had very little experience riding horses. Fortunately, the red horse was calm and cooperative. It followed her instructions without much trouble.Liya rode beside her for a while before turning toward her. "My Lady, are you alright?" she asked.Raine nodded immediately. "I'm fine, can't wait to hunt my first kill." She said excitedly, while trying to hide the nervousness that grew within her.Fina slowed her horse slightly and grinned."We should move ahead then, before all the preys end up in the hands of others. I heard the best preys are deeper in
C71: The Hunt BeginsThe carriage slowed before coming to a stop inside a vast campsite.Raine's eyes widened slightly as she stepped down from the carriage together with Liya and the others. The area looked very lively, there were many rows of seats arranged neatly around the campsite. Many Lycans were already present. Nobles occupied the front rows while the commoners filled the remaining seats.Raine parted her lips softly in awe. This was the largest hunt gathering she had ever seen. Her gaze wandered around curiously. She noticed many young nobles around her age. Most of them carried bows or stood beside horses while chatting amongst themselves. It was obvious they would be participating in the hunt as well. The two generals led them to the large tent at the end of the vast space where the Lycan king sat.Once they arrived before the Lycan King, they immediately bowed. "Greetings, Your Majesty." The Lycan King gave them a nod and waved his hand. "You may rise."Raine and the oth
C70: A Trip To The Hunting Ground When it was evening, Raine left the garden together with Lucian, they parted ways. Raine smiled brightly as she walked back to her room, feeling lighter and happy. The moment she entered her room, she found Liya cleaning their shoes.Liya looked up and smiled. "My Lady, you're back."Raine grinned and sat down on a nearby chair. Liya glanced at her for a moment and smiled. "You seem happy, you must have enjoyed your walk.”Raine nodded immediately. "I did."Liya hummed and continued cleaning. They spent the rest of the evening preparing everything they would need for the hunt the next day. After dinner, Raine took her bath and changed into her sleeping clothes and went to bed early hoping to wake up early. The next morning Raine felt someone tapping her shoulder repeatedly. She frowned and pulled the blanket closer, but the tapping continued.Raine sighed and slowly opened her eyes before shutting them for a moment.Liya knelt beside her on the bed,
C69: Old MemoriesRaine stepped back with a flustered face and nodded slowly.Lucian narrowed his gaze and fought the urge to flick her forehead again.A small smile appeared on his lips before he asked, "Do you want to spend more time in the garden?"Raine nodded immediately.Lucian led her deeper into the garden. They eventually stopped by a swing. It had a flower roof above it to block most of the sunlight, creating a cool shade around them.Raine sat on the swing before Lucian joined suit.Raine's gaze wandered across the garden. Different flowers bloomed around them, filling the air with a gentle fragrance. The sight was beautiful, but it also stirred memories she had not thought about in a long time.A small sad smile formed on her lips, she missed the garden at the Silver Pack.Lucian noticed the change in her expression. "What are you thinking about?" he asked softly.Raine stared at him, she didn't know how he would react if she shared her thoughts "If something is bothering
C68: Proper Apology Raine returned to her quarters with Liya. The moment they entered, she quietly headed to her inner room and sat on the edge of her bed. She slowly lay down and stared at the ceiling. She sighed softly, these few days have been draining. Liya stood quietly beside the cur
C67: A Lesson For MayaMrs Ray walked into the hall with her usual stern expression. The females shut their lips instantly.Everyone stood up at once and greeted the elderly woman. "Good morning, Mrs Ray."She hummed softly “Good Morning to you too” she said with a calm expression. "You may sit."T
C66: A Show To Be Enjoyed On the other side of the training ground, Liya practiced effortlessly. As she shot multiple times, she gradually noticed something strange. She felt stronger, though not so visible but enough for her to notice it herself. Her movements felt lighter and smoother than befor
C65: Last Day Of TrainingOnce Raine was done eating, she glanced at Liya who was busy arranging a few things around the room. "Liya." She called out softly.Liya turned immediately."Yes, My Lady?" "Are you going for training today?" Raine asked softly.Liya pressed together stroking her jaw for a
