LOGINC3: Dark Figure
Raine ducked instantly as the arrows brushed past her hair, missing her by inches. She hugged herself tightly and slowly opened her eyes, wondering who had shot the arrows. “Are you alright?” she heard a man's voice ask in front of her. She slowly looked up from the large, calloused hand stretched out to help her, then to his face. She froze. “Mr Grip?” she gasped, her eyes widening as she stared into those gray ones. “It's you,” the man said softly as he helped her up. “You are quite swift. What are you doing here?” he asked as they walked toward a bench at the other end of the training ground. “I came with my parents. And you? Are you a warrior?” she asked as she sat down. “I am a warrior. My name is Raphael, Raphael Ezrae And you?” he replied, turning to her as a strand of his blond hair fell over his face. The name sank in, he is the son of the late former beta. Raine took a sharp breath as her heart began to race. She quickly looked away before she embarrassed herself. “Raine… My name is Raine Elmore Orion ,” she said, at first hesitant to say her full name but she still said it softly as she played with her fingers. “Raine. It's a beautiful name,” he said quietly as he repeated her name. “I didn't know I would meet the Alpha's daughter. Thank you for saving me, and I apologize for choking you,” he added as he turned fully toward her. “You're welcome, even though I nearly died. You gripped my neck so hard,” she said while rubbing her neck unconsciously. Raphael looked down for a few seconds, feeling guilty. “I'm sorry about that. I had to stay alert.” He had fought several rogues alone, and they had seemed trained and numerous. “Is that why you called me Mr Grip?” he asked with a chuckle, his dimples appearing. Raine stared at him for a moment before slowly nodding. Soon she began laughing as well. “Yes. I didn't know your name then,” she replied, pushing a strand of her red hair behind her ear. They chatted for a while before Raphael offered to escort her back to the general training ground since it was getting late. “It would be nice to have you around. Would you mind being friends with me?” Raphael asked, extending his hand to her. Raine stared at him in disbelief. She had no friends, and no one had ever wanted to be her friend. But the young man in front of her had not only thanked her for saving him, he had spoken with her freely and now wanted to be her friend. She hesitated for a moment before placing her hand in his. The difference in the size of their hands was obvious. “Thank you, Raine, for letting me see you again,” he said softly as his eyes looked deeply into hers. The Moon Goddess knew how much he had searched for her. The Alpha's Beta had refused to tell him who she was. “Raine. Raine, where are you?” Alice called out from a distance. Raine quickly pulled her hand away. “We will meet another time. When I am free, I can visit the training ground,” she said with a smile before turning to leave with quick steps. Raphael watched her retreating figure. The way her red hair swayed as she ran away made him want to call her back, but he stopped himself. Meanwhile, Alice glared at Raine. She had seen them together but had not gotten a clear view of the man Raine had been with. “Mother will certainly punish you for that. We came here to arrange my training tutor, yet you are here flirting with a man,” Alice said mockingly. “He is someone I know, and I wasn't flirting with anyone,” Raine corrected her with a frown. Alice chuckled and folded her arms across her chest. “Really, dear sister? He must be the one you were with last time that made you come home late,” she said thoughtfully. “I only saved him, nothing more,” Raine replied with frustration as she walked away. “You slept with him to save him, right? Because we all know how useless you are without your wolf,” Alice mocked. Raine did not respond. “How dare you walk away from me,” Alice said as she grabbed Raine's arm and forced her to turn back. Raine tried to pull her hand free, but Alice held on tightly. Seeing their parents walking toward them, Alice suddenly let go and staggered backward with a small cry. Her mother rushed to her, her face full of concern. “Are you alright, dear?” she asked. Alice shook her head softly. Raine watched them in disbelief. The next moment she felt a sharp slap across her face. “How dare you try to hurt her,” her mother shouted while Alpha Elmore simply glared at her. Raine said nothing. She was tired of explaining herself whenever Alice created trouble. It only led to more punishment and harsh words. She simply walked away. Some of the warriors who had noticed the scene stared at her with disgust as she left the training ground. That evening her mother ordered the maids not to give her any food, and she went to bed hungry. Raine woke up, but she was no longer in her room. She was in a smoky place. There were no houses and no people around. “R...ai...ne,” she heard a distant, broken voice call her. She looked around but could not see anyone, so she began to run. No matter how far she ran, it felt like she was trapped in the same place. Finally, she saw a figure as dark as the night standing before her with its back turned to her. “R...ai...ne,” it called again, its voice hoarse and broken, but louder now. She stepped back slowly, her eyes fixed on the dark figure as it began to turn. She caught a glimpse of one of its eyes. It was black and extremely dark, glowing strangely. The sight seemed to pull at her soul. Desperate to escape, she turned and kept running until she suddenly woke up with a gasp. She rubbed her temples. Her nightdress was damp with sweat, and her stomach growled loudly, reminding her how hungry she had been before she fell asleep.C28: The VitaliRaine walked quickly through the hallway, her steps uneven. The itching had reduced, but something still felt off. Her fingers hovered near her neck, resisting the urge to touch it again.Raine turned a corner and suddenly stopped as she glared at the figure, Raphael stood in front of her.Her expression changed immediately.“What are you doing here?” she asked.Raphael stepped closer. “I have been looking for you,” he said. “Why did you leave the hall like that?” He had noticed her leaving abruptly earlier.“That is none of your concern,” Raine replied. Raphael frowned at her cold tone.“It is my concern,” he said. “You did not look well.”“I said I am fine.” Raine said, trying her best to control her emotions. She tried to walk past him, but he grabbed her arm.“Raine, listen to me”. Raine froze instantly, his touch felt odd.“Let go,” she muttered.“Not until you talk to me.” Raine turned to face him fully.“There is nothing to talk about,” she said firmly. “You ma
C27: The Ball NightMrs Ray glanced at her once she arrived and she was sure her gaze softened once she met her.“How are you feeling today?” she asked as she stood before them.“I'm better, thank you for asking Mrs Ray”.Mrs Ray nodded and focused on all of them, “I know I've given you all the necessary instructions for now, but I have another information…” she paused her eyes scanning the females.“The Lycan King is hosting a yearly ball tomorrow. All Lycans are allowed to attend with their mates and families,..... Also His Majesty made an exception for you all like he does every decade. You are also expected to attend the ball in a red dress which will be delivered to you” Mrs Ray spoke calmly. The girls nodded half excited, at least there was a gathering right, in a mundane palace with strict rules restricting them till whatever their fate would be.As the day went by, Raine received a red dress from a maid, she furrowed her brows in confusion, “Are you sure this is for me, I did
C26: The Mark That LingersThey left the tea hall shortly after.Lilith walked ahead while Raine followed beside her. Liya trailed quietly behind them, holding Raine’s things. The palace halls were long and quiet, with guards stationed at intervals. Raine’s eyes moved around as they walked, taking in the structure, marveled at the interior beauty. After a short distance, they heard footsteps approaching, Raine looked up.It was Prince Kaizen. He slowed down as he got to them, his blue eyes moving from Lilith to Raine.“Lilith,” he called.Lilith smiled slightly. “Kaizen.” His name rolled off sweetly from her tongue.Kaizen’s gaze shifted to Raine again.“Where are you both heading to?” he asked.Lilith answered calmly, “We are going to see the Royal Physician. She has a rash that needs to be checked.”Kaizen’s brows lifted slightly.“A rash?” he repeated as he searched for it with his eyes, his gaze settled on Raine’s neck.Raine felt slightly uncomfortable under his stare. He steppe
C25: Itching SpotLiya nodded forward, her head bowed deeply.Raine turned around and saw him.Her breath caught slightly. His face up close, was far more dangerously handsome than afar. For a second, she forgot herself and simply stared. Her lips parted but no words left them, Lucian stared at her sternly. Then she noticed the look on his face. It was not warm. It was distant and displeased.Raine lowered her head quickly.“Greetings to you, Grand Prince,” she said with a slight bow.Lucian’s gaze rested on her for a brief moment. His eyes narrowed slightly before he gave a low hum in response.Raine felt her heart skip, but she said nothing more. His aura was strong that Liya was trembling slightly, her head still lowered. But Raine was not afraid, she felt something else.Excitement.She did not understand it, Lucian walked past them without another word.Raine turned slightly and watched him for a moment before finally walking back to her quarters.A servant knocked at the door and
C24: First Day At The Lycan PalaceRaine slept soundly that night. The next morning, she woke up to a slight shake. She frowned and rubbed her eyes before turning to the side.It was Liya.“Why are you here?” Raine asked softly, her voice still heavy with sleep. Then she paused, the memory returned quickly. They were no longer in the Silver Pack. They were in the Lycan Kingdom and Liya had been assigned to her.Raine sighed softly and sat up. “I forgot,” she added quietly.Liya lowered her head slightly. “My lady, it is time to get ready,” she said.Raine nodded and got out of bed.She went to bathe, letting the cool water wake her fully. After she was done, she dressed in a simple but neat red dress that complemented her hair. She pinned part of her hair and let the rest flow freely behind her. When she stepped out, Liya gave a small approving nod “my lady you look beautiful” she said with a warm smile which Raine returned.“Let’s go,” Raine said. They walked out together and headed
C23: His Eyes The doors of the courtroom opened once again.A heavy presence filled the room before the figure even stepped in.He walked in with slow, steady steps, his aura overwhelming and domineering. The air itself seemed to shift around him, making it hard to breathe.Raine felt his presence immediately, her fingers twitched slightly as a strange instinct pushed her to lower her head and bare her neck in submission. She clenched her hands tightly, forcing herself to remain still, she turned slightly and noticed the girls were frightened and bowed deeply, none wanted to bare their neck or they were fighting the urge just like she was.Her eyes lifted slightly instinctively. From the side view alone, she could see his sharp, masculine features. His long hair flowed behind him, reaching his lower back. It was black, but strands of blue caught the light with each effortless stride he took.Raine swallowed hard, Then he turned after greeting the lycan king. Her breath hitched as hi
C21: Leaving It All BehindAlpha Elmore stepped into the room, his gaze sharp as it moved between the two girls.Luna Indira followed behind him. They had intended to meet Raine before she would leave for the palace only to meet this scene.“What is going on here?” he asked again, his tone firm.Al
C15: Alice's Garden PlansThe next day the house was lively. Raine went to the living room only to find Alice and Luna Indira speaking with a seamstress about the fabric she would wear.It brought back the harsh reality that Raphael was no longer hers. The happiness she once had had been skillfully
C13: Life changing Decision Inner training ground Raphael stood in the middle of the field coaching other younger warriors as they practiced. His vision blurred for a second, this was the tenth time his wolf was trying to take control. The need to mark his mate was becoming too much, hot sweat
C12: The Forbidden Ritual Raine furrowed her brows as she sat up instantly. “Where did this come from?” she whispered in confusion as she looked closely at the black petal in her palm. The petal vanished from her hand. Unknown to her, a mark had appeared on her body. Raine took her bath and step
