LOGINC2: Mr Grip
Raine's hands flew to the thing gripping her neck, only to realize it was an arm. Then she slowly saw gray eyes with a fiery glint in them. “Who..are...you?” the one gripping her asked, his voice edged with caution. Raine couldn't speak. Instead, she hit his hand and swung her leg forward, kicking him. “Damn,” the man cursed in pain and instantly let go of her. She cautiously put her hand into the small bag she had learned to carry at all times for emergencies. She brought out a lighter and lit it. The small flame illuminated the pit, and she saw the person who had grabbed her lying on the floor, clutching his stomach. Taking a closer look, she noticed he was bleeding. “Are you okay, Mr Grip?” she asked softly as she leaned forward slightly, still keeping her distance. The gray-eyed man glared at her, but his face was turning pale as more blood flowed from the wound. Raine frowned at him. “Mr Grip, don't die here. What happened to you?” she asked again, her voice filled with worry as she tried to get a better look at him. Seeing that he was badly wounded, she sighed and brought out a small pouch of medicine. Bending down, she carefully tore the fabric around the wound. The man groaned in pain as she applied the medicine to the injury. After apologizing, she removed his shirt and used a clean piece of the cloth to wrap the wound. Once she finished, she dusted her hands. “I'm done. Don't thank me. We need to find a way out,” she said as she stood up. But the man had already lost consciousness. She sighed. The hole was not very deep, about her height. She managed to remove the remaining grass covering the top and climbed out of the pit. She looked down at the figure lying inside and sighed again. It was already dusk, and her mother would be furious. “Since it's already late, I shouldn't leave you behind, right?” she said to the unconscious man. Suddenly, she heard heavy footsteps. A group of werewolves, about ten of them, surrounded her. She didn't recognize them, and that made her uneasy. Her eyes moved around quickly, searching for a way to escape while silently cursing her bad luck. One of the werewolves shifted into human form. He was her father's Beta. He walked toward her. “Young one, did you see an injured male around here?” he asked. She looked at him cautiously, unsure whether to reveal anything. The man glared at her before sniffing the air. “He should be here,” he muttered as he walked closer. Raine instinctively spread her arms wide. “What are you doing here? This isn't a hunting ground,” she said quickly. The man paused and chuckled. “Who are you to question me? You should worry about your weak self instead,” he said before shoving her aside. He looked down into the pit and saw the young man. Without hesitation, he jumped in, lifted the man onto his back, and leaped out. “Where are you taking Mr Grip?” Raine asked as she stood up. “Mr Grip?” the man repeated with a chuckle before leaving with the injured man and the rest of the werewolves. Raine stood there, glaring at the retreating figures. After a moment, she picked up her basket and headed home. When she got home, she gave the lilies to one of the maids and headed toward her room, only to be told that her mother wanted to see her. Now standing before her mother, who was seated with Alice, she bit her lip. “I heard you are now whoring around in the woods,” Luna Indira said calmly as she sipped her tea. A smooth leather whip lay beside her. “I didn't do that,” Raine answered softly. The Luna raised a brow and slammed the teacup onto the table. “So you mean I'm wrong? I received reliable information that you were caught with a man. That must be why you came home so late,” she said loudly as she reached for the whip. Raine froze, her eyes becoming glassy as they fixed on the whip. Her body began to tremble. “I didn't do anything,” she stuttered, hugging herself. That whip had caused her many wounds, both physically and emotionally. “Mother, is this really necessary? No one is beyond love. Why don't you forgive her? Besides, she is old enough to leave our home,” Alice said gracefully. Luna Indira glanced at Alice and paused for a moment before reluctantly placing the whip back on the table. “Thank your sister for saving you tonight. Now get out of my sight,” she hissed before throwing the teacup at Raine's feet. Breathing unevenly, Raine turned and walked away, barely holding herself together. Once she entered her room, she shut the door behind her. Three Days Later… Raine woke up at the first cockcrow. She was supposed to accompany her parents to the training ground. Wearing a simple purple dress that still looked beautiful on her, she tied her long red hair back and picked up her bag. She boarded the carriage with them. Once they arrived at the training ground, the warriors gathered as the Alpha addressed them. Raine, who was already bored, quietly left their group. She had heard that the training ground extended behind the pack house. It was said that only a few people had access to that area. It was reserved for Alphas, Betas, and elite warriors. She walked farther away from the general training ground. Her mind drifted back to the man she had helped earlier. “Was he a warrior or a rogue?” she muttered to herself as she walked absentmindedly. Then she shook her head. Rogues were never treated kindly in Silver Pack. If he was a rogue, that meant her medicine and effort might have been useless. She shook her head again. She planned to ask around and find out where he was. Without realizing it, she stepped into the inner training ground. The next thing she heard was a sharp swooshing sound rushing toward her. She looked up and saw two arrows flying straight at her.C28: The VitaliRaine walked quickly through the hallway, her steps uneven. The itching had reduced, but something still felt off. Her fingers hovered near her neck, resisting the urge to touch it again.Raine turned a corner and suddenly stopped as she glared at the figure, Raphael stood in front of her.Her expression changed immediately.“What are you doing here?” she asked.Raphael stepped closer. “I have been looking for you,” he said. “Why did you leave the hall like that?” He had noticed her leaving abruptly earlier.“That is none of your concern,” Raine replied. Raphael frowned at her cold tone.“It is my concern,” he said. “You did not look well.”“I said I am fine.” Raine said, trying her best to control her emotions. She tried to walk past him, but he grabbed her arm.“Raine, listen to me”. Raine froze instantly, his touch felt odd.“Let go,” she muttered.“Not until you talk to me.” Raine turned to face him fully.“There is nothing to talk about,” she said firmly. “You ma
C27: The Ball NightMrs Ray glanced at her once she arrived and she was sure her gaze softened once she met her.“How are you feeling today?” she asked as she stood before them.“I'm better, thank you for asking Mrs Ray”.Mrs Ray nodded and focused on all of them, “I know I've given you all the necessary instructions for now, but I have another information…” she paused her eyes scanning the females.“The Lycan King is hosting a yearly ball tomorrow. All Lycans are allowed to attend with their mates and families,..... Also His Majesty made an exception for you all like he does every decade. You are also expected to attend the ball in a red dress which will be delivered to you” Mrs Ray spoke calmly. The girls nodded half excited, at least there was a gathering right, in a mundane palace with strict rules restricting them till whatever their fate would be.As the day went by, Raine received a red dress from a maid, she furrowed her brows in confusion, “Are you sure this is for me, I did
C26: The Mark That LingersThey left the tea hall shortly after.Lilith walked ahead while Raine followed beside her. Liya trailed quietly behind them, holding Raine’s things. The palace halls were long and quiet, with guards stationed at intervals. Raine’s eyes moved around as they walked, taking in the structure, marveled at the interior beauty. After a short distance, they heard footsteps approaching, Raine looked up.It was Prince Kaizen. He slowed down as he got to them, his blue eyes moving from Lilith to Raine.“Lilith,” he called.Lilith smiled slightly. “Kaizen.” His name rolled off sweetly from her tongue.Kaizen’s gaze shifted to Raine again.“Where are you both heading to?” he asked.Lilith answered calmly, “We are going to see the Royal Physician. She has a rash that needs to be checked.”Kaizen’s brows lifted slightly.“A rash?” he repeated as he searched for it with his eyes, his gaze settled on Raine’s neck.Raine felt slightly uncomfortable under his stare. He steppe
C25: Itching SpotLiya nodded forward, her head bowed deeply.Raine turned around and saw him.Her breath caught slightly. His face up close, was far more dangerously handsome than afar. For a second, she forgot herself and simply stared. Her lips parted but no words left them, Lucian stared at her sternly. Then she noticed the look on his face. It was not warm. It was distant and displeased.Raine lowered her head quickly.“Greetings to you, Grand Prince,” she said with a slight bow.Lucian’s gaze rested on her for a brief moment. His eyes narrowed slightly before he gave a low hum in response.Raine felt her heart skip, but she said nothing more. His aura was strong that Liya was trembling slightly, her head still lowered. But Raine was not afraid, she felt something else.Excitement.She did not understand it, Lucian walked past them without another word.Raine turned slightly and watched him for a moment before finally walking back to her quarters.A servant knocked at the door and
C24: First Day At The Lycan PalaceRaine slept soundly that night. The next morning, she woke up to a slight shake. She frowned and rubbed her eyes before turning to the side.It was Liya.“Why are you here?” Raine asked softly, her voice still heavy with sleep. Then she paused, the memory returned quickly. They were no longer in the Silver Pack. They were in the Lycan Kingdom and Liya had been assigned to her.Raine sighed softly and sat up. “I forgot,” she added quietly.Liya lowered her head slightly. “My lady, it is time to get ready,” she said.Raine nodded and got out of bed.She went to bathe, letting the cool water wake her fully. After she was done, she dressed in a simple but neat red dress that complemented her hair. She pinned part of her hair and let the rest flow freely behind her. When she stepped out, Liya gave a small approving nod “my lady you look beautiful” she said with a warm smile which Raine returned.“Let’s go,” Raine said. They walked out together and headed
C23: His Eyes The doors of the courtroom opened once again.A heavy presence filled the room before the figure even stepped in.He walked in with slow, steady steps, his aura overwhelming and domineering. The air itself seemed to shift around him, making it hard to breathe.Raine felt his presence immediately, her fingers twitched slightly as a strange instinct pushed her to lower her head and bare her neck in submission. She clenched her hands tightly, forcing herself to remain still, she turned slightly and noticed the girls were frightened and bowed deeply, none wanted to bare their neck or they were fighting the urge just like she was.Her eyes lifted slightly instinctively. From the side view alone, she could see his sharp, masculine features. His long hair flowed behind him, reaching his lower back. It was black, but strands of blue caught the light with each effortless stride he took.Raine swallowed hard, Then he turned after greeting the lycan king. Her breath hitched as hi
C19: The Selection IIRaine returned to her room quietly, she walked past Raphael’s room and slowly looked away, her mood heavy. As an heir to the Alpha it was mandatory to live in the alpha's mansion.Closing the door behind her, she leaned against it for a moment, her eyes fixed on nothing in par
C17: The Lycan DecreeThe next morning, the mansion was normal as it was before. The traces of the previous night’s celebration were still there.empty goblets, scattered petals, and half-cleared tables… They were reminders of the couple’s union.Raine didn't have breakfast with them but left for th
