LOGINC5: The Nightmare
“She is not feeling well. She had to stay at home for a few days,” Alice lied smoothly. “Then I have to visit her,” Raphael said before he could think. Alice furrowed her brows. “That won't be necessary. She will be fine soon. You don't have to bother,” she replied instantly. The young man nodded and returned to his practice, somewhat relieved that Raine would be back soon. Still, his heart felt heavy. He did not know why. Maybe he was worried about her health. Raphael left the inner training ground and returned home once he was done without glancing at Alice. Meanwhile, Alice stood there watching his retreating figure, her eyes gleaming. She swore in her heart that she would have him. Throughout the ride home, she daydreamed about being with him. When she arrived home, she went straight to her father's study, knocking gently on the sturdy mahogany door. After hearing his approval, she stepped in and shut the door behind her. “Good evening, Father. How was your day today?” she asked sweetly as she sat down. Alpha Elmore smiled warmly. “It was not so good without you, my dear daughter,” he said kindly. Alice's face brightened. “Father, I have a request to make. May I?” she asked, blinking cutely. Alpha Elmore looked at her fondly. “What would that be, dear?” he asked as he set aside the parchment he had been checking. “It's about my tutor. I want a new one. I have found someone more capable,” she said sweetly. “Beta Mascot is already a good tutor for you. But if you say so, who is this person?” he asked. “Raphael. I think that is his name. His fighting skills are impressive,” she said as she recalled the way he moved with strength. Alpha Elmore tapped the table lightly to bring her back to her senses. “You mean my elite warrior Raphael Ezrae?” he asked with amusement. “It sounds more like you are interested in him. But that won't happen soon. You are not trained enough to go to the inner training ground,” he pointed out. Alice pouted and her expression darkened. She knew how to get her parents to do what she wanted. Seeing this, Alpha Elmore shook his head. “Fine, fine. You will be the end of me. I will change your tutor to Raphael,” he said, raising his hands in defeat. Alice brightened and stood up with a wide smile. “Thank you, Father. I love you the most,” she said happily. Alpha Elmore shook his head. “Are you sure about that?” he asked with a smile. Alice then went to her mother and pleaded for Raine to be released the next day. Luna Indira believed she was being a thoughtful sister who always wished the best for others, while Alice did not want to appear cruel in front of Raphael. She smirked as she left the room after receiving approval. She knew she had to play her cards well. Meanwhile… Raine remained in the wine cellar. She had poured some wine on her back. The pain was intense, but she could not risk an infection. One thing she always did was take care of herself no matter how much she suffered. She did not want to make things worse for herself. She wished badly that she had a wolf. If she did, none of this would be happening to her. She would have her parents' love and be treated well by the pack members. If only that were possible. She found a blanket and wrapped it around her body. The perfectly grilled steaks she had made before being thrown in there were still in her emergency bag. She stared at them and counted. “One, two, three, four, five,” she said weakly. She had eaten half of them during the past two days. She bit into one slowly as fresh tears filled her almond brown eyes. She was tired. Tired of the mistreatment. She wondered what it would feel like to kill herself, but the thought made her shiver. “I can't die. I have not had a beautiful ending yet,” she muttered through tears while eating the second steak. Raine remembered those gray eyes and the fiery glint within them. She smiled slightly. Then she remembered his confession. She could still hear his words. “Raine, I have something to say. I met a savior who saved me but stole something in return. Do you know who my savior is and what she stole?” She shook her head as she recalled it. “My savior is you, and you stole my heart. Your fiery red hair burned into my heart, and your kindness made it beat faster.” Those words echoed in her mind again. This time she giggled softly. She could still remember the way he held her hands like they were precious, and how he leaned close to speak to her, making her think he was about to kiss her. She stomped her foot on the bare floor and accidentally hurt her back, making the wound ache. “Ouch,” she said, wincing in pain. Still, the sweet memories eased her suffering. She wrapped the blanket tightly around herself, rested her head on her knees, and held them with her arms. When she opened her eyes again, she was standing in the same garden filled with different flowers, but this time it was denser than before. “R...ai...ne. R...ai...ne,” she heard her name being called. The voice was loud, hoarse, and seemed to come from everywhere. She turned around, searching for the owner of the voice, but saw nothing. Thick smoke filled the place, even in the garden this time. “Who are you?” she asked out loud, forcing herself to be brave. Her courage, as she liked to say, came from her steaks…. *My courage comes from my steaks* she would quote. But her words echoed back to her, as if the question had been directed at her. She froze when she felt something hot against her back. The aura she sensed was powerful, yet she wondered why she was not on the ground rolling on her belly in submission. Instead, she slowly turned. Her eyes widened in fear as she met a pair of eyes only a few inches away from her.C59: A Sincere PromiseThe next morning, Raine woke up early even though they weren't going to train fortoday. They had been given a day off.Raine had already prepared a bath for her, once she stepped into it the steamed water slowly relaxed her muscles.Raine decided to soak in it a little while since she hasn't done that for a while now.Her mind slowly went back to yesterday's event. She wondered if he was still in chains, she could still recall his look.He was in pain, she sighed softly as tied the last knot."He looked miserable.. has he eaten at least" she whispered softly.Liya who had come in to take her inner garments glanced at her “My lady who hasn't eaten?” She asked, confused.Raine glanced at her and sighed “It's nothing” she brushed it away.Liya wanted to ask further but she pressed her lips together and left with the bundle in her hand.Raine closed her eyes briefly before opening them, “should I go to his quarters to check” she muttered softly then shook her head.
C58: IanLeonard felt restless when he was through with training.Despite his logical reasoning, his feet found their way towards Lucian's chambers once again. He was fully aware Lucian's beast hated disturbances during episodes like this.Yet here he was standing before his door.He paused there, unsure whether to go in or just return.Leonard ruffled his hair with a sigh."Why am I so restless this time?" he muttered.Yes he would occasionally peek or visit outside his chambers during times like these but he has never felt this bothered.Or maybe he wanted him to recover quickly. After a little hesitation, he carefully pushed the door open so it wouldn't make noise, ‘Good place to practice stealth’ he muttered in his mind.He stepped inside before closing it behind him.His gaze immediately moved to the chains. Then he froze. The spot where Lucian had been chained was empty. One of the chains was broken and the other seemed to have been carefully removed. He blinked, rubbed his eyes
C57:His Beast Recognized HerRaine stood frozen near the door. Her widened eyes remained fixed on Lucian. His head hung low, she could hear the heavy breaths he took. Black veins spread across both his hands and climbed faintly toward his arms. The thick chains restrained him firmly on both sides, his wrists locked tightly secured by the chains. Her gaze lowered briefly to his legs, his ankles were shackled as well. She felt her heart clench, she could barely breathe properly. He only wore black trousers while beads of sweat rested against his skin. His broad shoulders were tense, she wondered how sore it might be being hung that way.‘How long had he been like this?’‘Why didn't Leonard tell me about his pain’ her heart shattered slowly. Before she could process another thought, Lucian slowly lifted his head.Raine froze, she noticed the look in his glowing eyes they were primal.A low snarl escaped him as he released a dominant aura, she felt her knees weaken. He had a blue moon-li
C56: Asking Him Directly. The next morning, Raine prepared for training as usual. Once she got to her training spot, her eyes instinctively searched for Lucian, but he wasn't there. Her steps became slow as a certain thought stung her mind. ‘Perhaps he was disgusted by what happened yesterday.’ She pressed her lips together unconsciously. Raine sat on the bench waiting for him but for a long time he was nowhere in sight, so she began to practice. To pour out her frustration and to be better. She recalled his words ‘I am the Grand Prince. And whoever I choose is expected to excel.’ She scoffed at his words before mumbling softly, “Yet you are not here to teach me”. She kept practicing on her own without him to guide her. She missed his instructions. Just once and he really won't teach her anymore? She released the next arrow, then another till she got tired. She gathered the arrows as usual before leaving. The second day passed exactly the same way. Her mood worsened grad
C55: Restless BeastLiya sat quietly on one of the wooden benches after training finally ended. Her arms still ached badly from drawing the bow repeatedly, yet compared to the first day, it felt slightly more bearable now.Not far from her, Fina sprawled carelessly on the ground like a lifeless body while the other female beside her had already fallen asleep sitting upright.Liya shook her head softly before carefully bringing out the covered plate she had hidden beside the bench. The moment she opened it, the rich scent of the steak filled the air. A satisfied smile appeared on her lips immediately.“My lady truly cooks the best food,” she muttered softly to herself. She picked up one piece and bit into it happily.Just then, two pairs of black boots stopped before her.Liya blinked and lifted her head.Leonard stood before her, his hands folded neatly behind him.He looked calm and composed but his eyes were fixed more on the steak than Liya. The moment their eyes met, Liya smiled
C54: Greedy BeastLucian stood still, his fingers tightened around the bow he had lowered. His gaze remained fixed on the frightened little figure crouched behind the rack as though hiding from danger itself.Something inside him stirred violently. His beast had acted up again that morning. The moment he turned and saw the emerald necklace resting against her neck, his beast had become more restless and it had clawed at him violently.A strange instinct had risen inside him, his beast wanted to take over and pin her down, and tear that necklace away from her neck. His thoughts made his expression darken. His beast was becoming difficult to suppress. The only reason he aimed the arrow at her was to scare her away before he lost control. He had expected her to panic and run far from him, away from the training ground while trying to gain control of himself.Instead, she had hidden behind the rack, still at his reach. He was now partly in control as he stood behind her, he froze as reali
C16: The Marriage Raine stirred in her sleep as a sharp yet careful knock woke her up, it felt distant for a while til it became loud. She sat up, rubbing her eyes as a soft yawn escaped her lips. The knock came again and she furrowed her brows, wondering who and why the person was knocking, she w
C21: Leaving It All BehindAlpha Elmore stepped into the room, his gaze sharp as it moved between the two girls.Luna Indira followed behind him. They had intended to meet Raine before she would leave for the palace only to meet this scene.“What is going on here?” he asked again, his tone firm.Al

C12: The Forbidden Ritual Raine furrowed her brows as she sat up instantly. “Where did this come from?” she whispered in confusion as she looked closely at the black petal in her palm. The petal vanished from her hand. Unknown to her, a mark had appeared on her body. Raine took her bath and step
