LOGINC5: The Nightmare
“She is not feeling well. She had to stay at home for a few days,” Alice lied smoothly. “Then I have to visit her,” Raphael said before he could think. Alice furrowed her brows. “That won't be necessary. She will be fine soon. You don't have to bother,” she replied instantly. The young man nodded and returned to his practice, somewhat relieved that Raine would be back soon. Still, his heart felt heavy. He did not know why. Maybe he was worried about her health. Raphael left the inner training ground and returned home once he was done without glancing at Alice. Meanwhile, Alice stood there watching his retreating figure, her eyes gleaming. She swore in her heart that she would have him. Throughout the ride home, she daydreamed about being with him. When she arrived home, she went straight to her father's study, knocking gently on the sturdy mahogany door. After hearing his approval, she stepped in and shut the door behind her. “Good evening, Father. How was your day today?” she asked sweetly as she sat down. Alpha Elmore smiled warmly. “It was not so good without you, my dear daughter,” he said kindly. Alice's face brightened. “Father, I have a request to make. May I?” she asked, blinking cutely. Alpha Elmore looked at her fondly. “What would that be, dear?” he asked as he set aside the parchment he had been checking. “It's about my tutor. I want a new one. I have found someone more capable,” she said sweetly. “Beta Mascot is already a good tutor for you. But if you say so, who is this person?” he asked. “Raphael. I think that is his name. His fighting skills are impressive,” she said as she recalled the way he moved with strength. Alpha Elmore tapped the table lightly to bring her back to her senses. “You mean my elite warrior Raphael Ezrae?” he asked with amusement. “It sounds more like you are interested in him. But that won't happen soon. You are not trained enough to go to the inner training ground,” he pointed out. Alice pouted and her expression darkened. She knew how to get her parents to do what she wanted. Seeing this, Alpha Elmore shook his head. “Fine, fine. You will be the end of me. I will change your tutor to Raphael,” he said, raising his hands in defeat. Alice brightened and stood up with a wide smile. “Thank you, Father. I love you the most,” she said happily. Alpha Elmore shook his head. “Are you sure about that?” he asked with a smile. Alice then went to her mother and pleaded for Raine to be released the next day. Luna Indira believed she was being a thoughtful sister who always wished the best for others, while Alice did not want to appear cruel in front of Raphael. She smirked as she left the room after receiving approval. She knew she had to play her cards well. Meanwhile… Raine remained in the wine cellar. She had poured some wine on her back. The pain was intense, but she could not risk an infection. One thing she always did was take care of herself no matter how much she suffered. She did not want to make things worse for herself. She wished badly that she had a wolf. If she did, none of this would be happening to her. She would have her parents' love and be treated well by the pack members. If only that were possible. She found a blanket and wrapped it around her body. The perfectly grilled steaks she had made before being thrown in there were still in her emergency bag. She stared at them and counted. “One, two, three, four, five,” she said weakly. She had eaten half of them during the past two days. She bit into one slowly as fresh tears filled her almond brown eyes. She was tired. Tired of the mistreatment. She wondered what it would feel like to kill herself, but the thought made her shiver. “I can't die. I have not had a beautiful ending yet,” she muttered through tears while eating the second steak. Raine remembered those gray eyes and the fiery glint within them. She smiled slightly. Then she remembered his confession. She could still hear his words. “Raine, I have something to say. I met a savior who saved me but stole something in return. Do you know who my savior is and what she stole?” She shook her head as she recalled it. “My savior is you, and you stole my heart. Your fiery red hair burned into my heart, and your kindness made it beat faster.” Those words echoed in her mind again. This time she giggled softly. She could still remember the way he held her hands like they were precious, and how he leaned close to speak to her, making her think he was about to kiss her. She stomped her foot on the bare floor and accidentally hurt her back, making the wound ache. “Ouch,” she said, wincing in pain. Still, the sweet memories eased her suffering. She wrapped the blanket tightly around herself, rested her head on her knees, and held them with her arms. When she opened her eyes again, she was standing in the same garden filled with different flowers, but this time it was denser than before. “R...ai...ne. R...ai...ne,” she heard her name being called. The voice was loud, hoarse, and seemed to come from everywhere. She turned around, searching for the owner of the voice, but saw nothing. Thick smoke filled the place, even in the garden this time. “Who are you?” she asked out loud, forcing herself to be brave. Her courage, as she liked to say, came from her steaks…. *My courage comes from my steaks* she would quote. But her words echoed back to her, as if the question had been directed at her. She froze when she felt something hot against her back. The aura she sensed was powerful, yet she wondered why she was not on the ground rolling on her belly in submission. Instead, she slowly turned. Her eyes widened in fear as she met a pair of eyes only a few inches away from her.C28: The VitaliRaine walked quickly through the hallway, her steps uneven. The itching had reduced, but something still felt off. Her fingers hovered near her neck, resisting the urge to touch it again.Raine turned a corner and suddenly stopped as she glared at the figure, Raphael stood in front of her.Her expression changed immediately.“What are you doing here?” she asked.Raphael stepped closer. “I have been looking for you,” he said. “Why did you leave the hall like that?” He had noticed her leaving abruptly earlier.“That is none of your concern,” Raine replied. Raphael frowned at her cold tone.“It is my concern,” he said. “You did not look well.”“I said I am fine.” Raine said, trying her best to control her emotions. She tried to walk past him, but he grabbed her arm.“Raine, listen to me”. Raine froze instantly, his touch felt odd.“Let go,” she muttered.“Not until you talk to me.” Raine turned to face him fully.“There is nothing to talk about,” she said firmly. “You ma
C27: The Ball NightMrs Ray glanced at her once she arrived and she was sure her gaze softened once she met her.“How are you feeling today?” she asked as she stood before them.“I'm better, thank you for asking Mrs Ray”.Mrs Ray nodded and focused on all of them, “I know I've given you all the necessary instructions for now, but I have another information…” she paused her eyes scanning the females.“The Lycan King is hosting a yearly ball tomorrow. All Lycans are allowed to attend with their mates and families,..... Also His Majesty made an exception for you all like he does every decade. You are also expected to attend the ball in a red dress which will be delivered to you” Mrs Ray spoke calmly. The girls nodded half excited, at least there was a gathering right, in a mundane palace with strict rules restricting them till whatever their fate would be.As the day went by, Raine received a red dress from a maid, she furrowed her brows in confusion, “Are you sure this is for me, I did
C26: The Mark That LingersThey left the tea hall shortly after.Lilith walked ahead while Raine followed beside her. Liya trailed quietly behind them, holding Raine’s things. The palace halls were long and quiet, with guards stationed at intervals. Raine’s eyes moved around as they walked, taking in the structure, marveled at the interior beauty. After a short distance, they heard footsteps approaching, Raine looked up.It was Prince Kaizen. He slowed down as he got to them, his blue eyes moving from Lilith to Raine.“Lilith,” he called.Lilith smiled slightly. “Kaizen.” His name rolled off sweetly from her tongue.Kaizen’s gaze shifted to Raine again.“Where are you both heading to?” he asked.Lilith answered calmly, “We are going to see the Royal Physician. She has a rash that needs to be checked.”Kaizen’s brows lifted slightly.“A rash?” he repeated as he searched for it with his eyes, his gaze settled on Raine’s neck.Raine felt slightly uncomfortable under his stare. He steppe
C25: Itching SpotLiya nodded forward, her head bowed deeply.Raine turned around and saw him.Her breath caught slightly. His face up close, was far more dangerously handsome than afar. For a second, she forgot herself and simply stared. Her lips parted but no words left them, Lucian stared at her sternly. Then she noticed the look on his face. It was not warm. It was distant and displeased.Raine lowered her head quickly.“Greetings to you, Grand Prince,” she said with a slight bow.Lucian’s gaze rested on her for a brief moment. His eyes narrowed slightly before he gave a low hum in response.Raine felt her heart skip, but she said nothing more. His aura was strong that Liya was trembling slightly, her head still lowered. But Raine was not afraid, she felt something else.Excitement.She did not understand it, Lucian walked past them without another word.Raine turned slightly and watched him for a moment before finally walking back to her quarters.A servant knocked at the door and
C24: First Day At The Lycan PalaceRaine slept soundly that night. The next morning, she woke up to a slight shake. She frowned and rubbed her eyes before turning to the side.It was Liya.“Why are you here?” Raine asked softly, her voice still heavy with sleep. Then she paused, the memory returned quickly. They were no longer in the Silver Pack. They were in the Lycan Kingdom and Liya had been assigned to her.Raine sighed softly and sat up. “I forgot,” she added quietly.Liya lowered her head slightly. “My lady, it is time to get ready,” she said.Raine nodded and got out of bed.She went to bathe, letting the cool water wake her fully. After she was done, she dressed in a simple but neat red dress that complemented her hair. She pinned part of her hair and let the rest flow freely behind her. When she stepped out, Liya gave a small approving nod “my lady you look beautiful” she said with a warm smile which Raine returned.“Let’s go,” Raine said. They walked out together and headed
C23: His Eyes The doors of the courtroom opened once again.A heavy presence filled the room before the figure even stepped in.He walked in with slow, steady steps, his aura overwhelming and domineering. The air itself seemed to shift around him, making it hard to breathe.Raine felt his presence immediately, her fingers twitched slightly as a strange instinct pushed her to lower her head and bare her neck in submission. She clenched her hands tightly, forcing herself to remain still, she turned slightly and noticed the girls were frightened and bowed deeply, none wanted to bare their neck or they were fighting the urge just like she was.Her eyes lifted slightly instinctively. From the side view alone, she could see his sharp, masculine features. His long hair flowed behind him, reaching his lower back. It was black, but strands of blue caught the light with each effortless stride he took.Raine swallowed hard, Then he turned after greeting the lycan king. Her breath hitched as hi
C21: Leaving It All BehindAlpha Elmore stepped into the room, his gaze sharp as it moved between the two girls.Luna Indira followed behind him. They had intended to meet Raine before she would leave for the palace only to meet this scene.“What is going on here?” he asked again, his tone firm.Al
C15: Alice's Garden PlansThe next day the house was lively. Raine went to the living room only to find Alice and Luna Indira speaking with a seamstress about the fabric she would wear.It brought back the harsh reality that Raphael was no longer hers. The happiness she once had had been skillfully
C13: Life changing Decision Inner training ground Raphael stood in the middle of the field coaching other younger warriors as they practiced. His vision blurred for a second, this was the tenth time his wolf was trying to take control. The need to mark his mate was becoming too much, hot sweat
C12: The Forbidden Ritual Raine furrowed her brows as she sat up instantly. “Where did this come from?” she whispered in confusion as she looked closely at the black petal in her palm. The petal vanished from her hand. Unknown to her, a mark had appeared on her body. Raine took her bath and step
