Chapter 5

C5:The Nightmare

“She is not feeling well, she had to stay at home for some days” Alice lied smoothly.

“Then I have to visit her” Raphael spoke before he could think, Alice furrowed her brows.

“That won't be nice, she will be fine soon, you don't have to bother” she refuted instantly.

The young man nodded and returned to his practice a bit at ease that she would be coming soon, but then his heart felt heavy. He didn't know why, maybe because he was worried about her health.

Raphael left in the inner training ground to his home once he was done without glancing at Alice.

Meanwhile Alice stood there watching his retreating figure weakly, her eyes dazzling.

She swore in her heart to have him, throughout the ride home she daydreamed of being with him.

On getting home she went straight to her father's study room, knocking gently on the sturdy mahogany door, she heard his approval and stepped in, shutting the door behind her.

“Good evening, father. How was your day today?” She asked sweetly as she sat on a chair.

Alpha Elmore smiled warmly, “it was not so good without you, my dear daughter” he said sweetly.

Alice's face bloomed, “father I have a request to make, can I” she asked blinking cutely.

Alpha Elmore narrowed his gaze fondly, “what would that be dear” he asked, setting the parchment he had been cross checking aside.

“It's about my tutor, I want a new one.

More like I've found a capable tutor” she said sweetly.

“Beta Mascot is a good tutor for you, but if you say so then who is this person you speak of?” He asked.

“Raphael, his name should be that, his fighting skills are awesome” she said sweetly as she recalled the way he moved, reeking of masculinity.

Alpha Elmore hit the table lightly to bring her back to her senses, “you mean my elite warrior Raphael?” He asked amused,

“more like you are interested in him, but it won't be so soon dear you aren't trained enough to go to the inner training ground” he pointed out thoughtfully.

Alice pouted as her face dulled, she knew how to get her parents to do her bidding.

Seeing this Alpha Elmore shook his head, “Fine fine you won't be the end of me, I will change your tutor to Raphael” he said raising his hands in defeat.

Alice lit up and stood up with a wide smile, “thank you father, I love you the most” she said lovingly.

Alpha Elmore shook his head, “are you sure about that?” He asked with a smile.

Alice went to her mother, she pleaded for her sister to be released tomorrow.

Luna Indira thought that she was being a thoughtful sister who would always think the best, while the latter didn't want to be seen as a bad person before Raphael.

She smirked as she left the room after getting an approval, she had to play her cards well.

Meanwhile…

Raine remained in the wine cellar, she had poured some wine on her back, the pain was gruesome but she couldn't afford any infection.

One thing she always did was to take care of herself no matter how much she suffered, she didn't want to suffer herself like others.

She wished so badly she had her wolf, then all these won't be happening to her.

She would have her parents' love, treated well by the pack members. If only it was so.

She found a blanket and wrapped it around her body, the little steaks she had made before being thrown in there was still in her little emergency bag.

She stared at the steaks counting them “one.. two.. three..four..five” she pouted weakly, she had eaten half of it the past two days.

She bit one weakly as fresh tears filled her almond brown eyes, she was tired..tired of the maltreatment.

She wondered what it felt like to kill herself but she shivered at it, “i.. can't..die, I've not had..a beautiful.. ending” she muttered in tears while munching on the second steak.

Raine remembered those grey eyes and how his fiery glint danced beautifully in them, she smiled a bit.

Then the confession, he could remember his words.

‘Raine, I have something to say. I met a saviour who saved me but stole something in return, do you know who and what my Savior stole?’ she shook her head remembering it.

‘My saviour is you and you stole my heart, those fiery red hair of yours burned my heart and your kindness made it beat fast’

Those words rang in her ears again, this time she giggled loudly, she could still remember the way he held her hands like the most precious jewel, the way he leaned in to speak that she thought he would kiss her.

She stomps her feet on the bare floor and mistakenly aches her back making it hurt.

“Ouch” she winced in pain, the sweet memories still eased her misery as she gently wrapped the blanket securely around her body and rested her head on her knees and supported them with her hands.

She opened her eyes and this time she was in the same garden filled with different flowers, this time it was denser than before.

“R..ai..ne, R..ai..ne” she heard her name, it was loud,hoarse yet everywhere.

She turned around searching for the owner of the voice, yet she saw nothing, it was only the thick smoke that filled everywhere even in the garden this time.

“Who are you?” she said audibly, mustering a lot of courage, from her steaks like she always said.

My courage comes from my steaks.

But her words echoed back to her, as if the question were meant for her.

She froze as she felt something hot against her back, the aura she felt wasn't a simple one, she wondered why she wasn't on her belly rolling.

Instead she turned and her eyes widened in fright meeting the orbs a few inches before her.
