ログインC7: Perfect Couple
Alice gulped and shook her head. “I… I don't know. Don’t look at me that way,” she muttered, her voice barely audible. Raphael chuckled, but the intensity in his eyes remained. “Let's continue our practice,” he said calmly. By evening, Alice hurried back home, but the incident lingered in her mind. She decided she had to investigate. Meanwhile, the assistant physician had just left Raine's room. Her face was stoic as she walked past Alice, who raised a brow in curiosity. Alice went straight to her room to freshen up. What she knew for certain was that Raphael was not just anyone, and she would never let anyone take him from her. A week later, Raine was back on her feet. Her wounds weren’t fully healed, but they were bearable so at least she could move around with less pain. Alice made sure Raine had no idea who her new tutor was as they rode together in the carriage to the training ground. The carriage stopped with a creak. The girls stepped down, they strode into the training ground and Maya rushed up to them, holding Alice's hand. “I’ve got the information you were looking for,” she said with a smile. As the daughter of one of the elders, obtaining information wasn’t difficult. Alice glanced back. Raine wasn’t far behind. “You can tell me later. I’m busy for now,” Alice said softly. Maya nodded and shot Raine a sharp glare before walking away. Alice led the way to the inner training ground. Raine frowned in confusion. “Didn't you train here? Why are we going in there together?” she asked, raising her brows. “Oh, dear sister, you’ve been absent for a long time. My tutor stays in the inner training ground, which means my training happens there,” Alice replied sweetly, a hint of mischief in her eyes that danced with a fiery glint. Raine furrowed her brows but said nothing, quietly following her sister. Alice’s eyes lit up when she spotted Raphael. She had a mischievous gleam, ready to shock Raine, she couldn't wait to see her reaction. Raine panicked slightly, worried about what excuse to give so he wouldn’t worry about her. Her brown eyes widened when she saw Raphael. His broad back was turned, unaware of her presence. But Raphael had already caught the scent of wild annoying tulips. He frowned, recognizing her instantly, and the fact that he was stuck with her annoyed him . “You’re late for training,” he said without turning. Raine glanced at her sister, who smirked at her before looking away. “I didn’t mean to. My sister kept me waiting, right, Raine?” Alice said, turning to her with a sweet, sickly smile, the kind that always taunted Raine. Raphael turned swiftly. His hardened gaze softened the moment it landed on her. He strode toward her and crushed her to him. Raine’s eyes widened. He held her tightly, as if she might vanish, though her back still ached from before. She winced softly but did not pull away. Noticing, Raphael leaned back slightly, concern softening his gaze. “Are you alright? What happened to you?” he asked, holding her gently this time. Alice clenched her fists at her side. Her smile had vanished into thin air. “I’m fine. I fell in the woods and had to stay home to recover,” Raine lied. She had to. Raphael nodded slowly, still holding her hand. “You came late on your own. Don’t drag others down,” he said plainly. Everyone could see the effort she had put into her appearance, her hairpin sat perfectly in place. Alice looked down, annoyed at being scolded publicly. But it was Raphael, so she swallowed her pride. “You will have to fill the drum as punishment,” he instructed before taking Raine to the bench, holding her hand softly. “You shouldn’t stand in the sun, especially when you’re not feeling well,” he said softly, rubbing her hands gently. Raine’s cheeks heated again. She nodded slowly. After a few minutes, Raphael returned to the training field. She watched them practice. Seeing Alice shift into a brown wolf, Raine sighed softly, wondering what her own wolf would look like if she had one. One of the warriors sat beside her. Raine recognized him as Alex, Beta Mascot’s son. “Hey, weird one… what do you think of those two? The daughter of an Alpha and the elite warrior, they would certainly make a perfect pair,” he said, narrowing his eyes as he watched them. Raine frowned. “As fighting partners?” she asked genuinely. Alex laughed a bit mocking. “Are you blind? As a couple. They’d lead the pack to greater heights. Alice has a great fighting spirit, come on look at her wolf. And Raphael is powerful. Don’t you think they’d make a great pair?” He asked again. “Make a pair?” Raine murmured, staring at them. “I don’t think so,” she replied instantly. “Really? Do you have a soft spot for Raphael? If so, kill it now and harden your heart. No one would support such a thing. A wolfless weakling like you with a powerful wolf? Nope. Doesn’t work,” Alex said smugly before walking away, whistling. Raine knew he was here to taunt her, as always. She ignored him, though her eyes occasionally stole glances at the two. Her nails struck together nervously. His words slowly got to her as she watched the two train, Raphael was far stronger and his moves were swift and smooth while on the other hand Alice wasn't bad for a new fighter. She noticed how Alice leaned closer to Raphael, how she bared her neck seductively, and feigned dizziness to earn his care and attention. Raine’s chest tightened, her heart crushed. She wanted to march straight to Alice and drag her away by the hair, far away from Raphael and maybe slap some common sense into her. But she couldn’t. She could only swallow her anger and jealousy, which burned inside her, because she knew she wouldn’t win, and bedsides everyone would blame her. It would be her bullying her kind sister. This time, she would be roasted by her parents.C74: Bared Feelings The moment its massive body fell aside, it revealed the figure that had gutted its heart out.Raine stared at the two-colored eyes glowing radiantly. She blinked slowly as the sight before her registered in her mind. The Grand Prince stood there with blood covering one arm. His eyes glowed brightly as his beast lingered close to the surface. The calm and controlled Male she knew was nowhere to be seen.Only a dangerous predator stood before her.A deadly smile rested on his lips as he crushed the remains of the beast's heart in his hand. Raine kept watching him as blood dripped to the ground from his palm. For a few moments neither of them moved.Lucian's attention turned back to her once he was done crushing the heart and let the little piece in his hand fall. His chest rose and fell heavily. She had heard of his brutality and bloodlust, that was what she witnessed now.The thrill in his eyes when he crushed the beast's heart, the dangerous smile on his lips that
C73: The Last Moment?Meanwhile...Raine held the reins tightly so she wouldn't fall off, her heart was long gone from its position to her stomach. The horse continued sprinting into that direction, some branches scratched her arms, while she dodged some that would have hit her face. The woods grew denser with every passing second. Then the horse stopped abruptly, Raine nearly fell forward off the horse. She managed to steady herself at the last moment, her heart pounding against her ribcage. She held the reins tightly while trying to steady her heartbeat as she took deep breaths.Once she steadied herself she glanced around taking in her surroundings. The woods were thicker now and denser now, she remembered Kaizen's words and frowned. ‘The thick woods he warned of.’ she muttered in her mind, she slowly reached for her bow, gripping it tightly and held the reins in one hand. She wondered why the horse had stopped abruptly.A low growl echoed through the forest.Raine froze instantly,
C72: Missing Raine.Once they rode out, Kaizen stopped his horse briefly.“You are to stick to the clear woods” he said sternly and glanced at them for a moment.“Avoid the thick woods if you want to be intact, we are to gather at the center of the woods with our hunts once you see the signal in the sky” He said with a smirk and rode off.Raine pressed her lips tightly and rode her horse carefully through the woods. Unlike the others, she had very little experience riding horses. Fortunately, the red horse was calm and cooperative. It followed her instructions without much trouble.Liya rode beside her for a while before turning toward her. "My Lady, are you alright?" she asked.Raine nodded immediately. "I'm fine, can't wait to hunt my first kill." She said excitedly, while trying to hide the nervousness that grew within her.Fina slowed her horse slightly and grinned."We should move ahead then, before all the preys end up in the hands of others. I heard the best preys are deeper in
C71: The Hunt BeginsThe carriage slowed before coming to a stop inside a vast campsite.Raine's eyes widened slightly as she stepped down from the carriage together with Liya and the others. The area looked very lively, there were many rows of seats arranged neatly around the campsite. Many Lycans were already present. Nobles occupied the front rows while the commoners filled the remaining seats.Raine parted her lips softly in awe. This was the largest hunt gathering she had ever seen. Her gaze wandered around curiously. She noticed many young nobles around her age. Most of them carried bows or stood beside horses while chatting amongst themselves. It was obvious they would be participating in the hunt as well. The two generals led them to the large tent at the end of the vast space where the Lycan king sat.Once they arrived before the Lycan King, they immediately bowed. "Greetings, Your Majesty." The Lycan King gave them a nod and waved his hand. "You may rise."Raine and the oth
C70: A Trip To The Hunting Ground When it was evening, Raine left the garden together with Lucian, they parted ways. Raine smiled brightly as she walked back to her room, feeling lighter and happy. The moment she entered her room, she found Liya cleaning their shoes.Liya looked up and smiled. "My Lady, you're back."Raine grinned and sat down on a nearby chair. Liya glanced at her for a moment and smiled. "You seem happy, you must have enjoyed your walk.”Raine nodded immediately. "I did."Liya hummed and continued cleaning. They spent the rest of the evening preparing everything they would need for the hunt the next day. After dinner, Raine took her bath and changed into her sleeping clothes and went to bed early hoping to wake up early. The next morning Raine felt someone tapping her shoulder repeatedly. She frowned and pulled the blanket closer, but the tapping continued.Raine sighed and slowly opened her eyes before shutting them for a moment.Liya knelt beside her on the bed,
C69: Old MemoriesRaine stepped back with a flustered face and nodded slowly.Lucian narrowed his gaze and fought the urge to flick her forehead again.A small smile appeared on his lips before he asked, "Do you want to spend more time in the garden?"Raine nodded immediately.Lucian led her deeper into the garden. They eventually stopped by a swing. It had a flower roof above it to block most of the sunlight, creating a cool shade around them.Raine sat on the swing before Lucian joined suit.Raine's gaze wandered across the garden. Different flowers bloomed around them, filling the air with a gentle fragrance. The sight was beautiful, but it also stirred memories she had not thought about in a long time.A small sad smile formed on her lips, she missed the garden at the Silver Pack.Lucian noticed the change in her expression. "What are you thinking about?" he asked softly.Raine stared at him, she didn't know how he would react if she shared her thoughts "If something is bothering
C16: The Marriage Raine stirred in her sleep as a sharp yet careful knock woke her up, it felt distant for a while til it became loud. She sat up, rubbing her eyes as a soft yawn escaped her lips. The knock came again and she furrowed her brows, wondering who and why the person was knocking, she w
C10: Birthday Night Two months later, evening… The days had passed peacefully, with little or no trouble from Alice. Raine thought it was a good sign. Maybe Alice was too focused on her training to cause problems. Today was her birthday. Raine sat in the bathtub with her eyes closed, lost in her
C9: The Only Chance Raine trekked home, watching as the sun slowly dipped beneath the horizon. Before nightfall, she arrived. The moment she stepped inside, she saw her parents seated. Their expressions were unreadable at first, but the instant their eyes fell on her, everything changed. Alice
C8: Fuming Alice That day went by, and watching Alice train with him was a bit excruciating. Raine would occasionally frown, pout, or look sad. The warriors did not help either, as they cheered them on and paired them together. Once they were done training, Alice left with Maya, leaving Raine beh
