CHAPTER NINE

Sophia was already on her way home after her discussion with Luke at the third werewolf attack crime scene.

She kept pondering on what he told her and this reminded her about Edward, her ex-husband, the scene about their last argument immediately flashed into her memory.

They had planned to go on a dinner night to celebrate his birthday but she ended up not showing up due to a case she was handling at that time.

Sophia could still recall the hurt in Edward's eyes when she called him to cancel their dinner plans. It was the third time in a row that she had missed an important occasion with him. Sophia was a detective and she had to handle a lot of cases that took up most of her time. However, this was no excuse for the pain she caused Edward.

That night, after canceling on him, Sophia got caught up in the case and didn't get home until the early hours of the morning. When she walked into their bedroom, she found Edward awake, sitting on the bed with a glass of whiskey in his hand
