Skylar’s POVThe sight before me on opening the door abruptly cut short my excitement at being able to figure out where Scarlet is. There she was, with a bottle of red wine in hand and tears streaming down her face. I didn’t know the whole dinner affected her this much, I walked close to her and she’s startled to see me. I sit down beside her on the warm rug and hold her tightly to myself without a word. We stayed like that for a long time, minutes or hours maybe, I didn’t even remember that I came with Stefan until there was a movement by the closed door. I hesitantly pull away from the hug, knowing she needs it but she really needs to talk to Stefan and get to bed. “Sorry, I was…I mean…how did you know I was here?” She says wiping at her eyes, at that moment, Stefan walks closer with a handkerchief in hand. She takes it tentatively and wipes her face. She is also still wearing her dress from the dinner. “You came here straight from dinner?” I ask, she gives a nod in response. “

Skylar’s POV ********Her nightmare begins ********** The pounding of my feet and the rush of blood in my ears are in sync with the thumping of my heart. My legs feel weak but I can’t stop running because my life depends on it. The thought of the pack of wolves not so far behind me is what keeps me going as the trees keep whooshing passed me. I try running as fast as I can, jumping over tree stumps and fallen logs. Even though I can’t transform, I can tell that the pack of wolves are not so far from me and they will get to me any moment now. I have to survive, there's no other way. By the time I reach a clearing in the woods, suddenly the wind is knocked out of me as a massive body crashes into me and knocks me to the ground. I groan and try to get up but I’m unable to, the pain in my body is unbearable. Through the massive ring in my head, I can hear the sound of a growl somewhere around me, along with the sound of multiple steps not so far from me and their equally ferocious

Skylar’s POV “Get up, now.” My father said, his voice dripping with anger. I stood up quietly, knowing better than to make a sound or look him in the eye. “Take laps round the race tracks until I tell you to stop or do otherwise. We will talk about a more befitting punishment for you, later. Get out of my sight.” He says through gritted teeth, sounding pissed and disgusted. I make my way to the tracks to start the laps quickly, the last thing I want is to piss him off further. At least he didn’t go into beast mode, I for one know that he has done worse. In fact, everyone knows he is horrible not just to me but other members of the pack, he just has a way of giving me a more special treatment. Knowing that this will take a long while, I start with a steady jog, increasing and reducing my pace at intervals. Skylar’s POV The urge to find a place to hide until this party ends is extreme. I have never been to a club before and I have never drank alcohol either, I am usually claustrophobic for so many reasons and I’m realizing that coming to this party was a horrible idea. So many bodies moving along with the rhythm of the music, the strong smell from the mixture of sweat and alcohol is on another level entirely. I can not even think straight without an odor disorienting my senses. Skyler’s POV The gentle heat of the sunlight streaming from the window makes my head hurt or is it the hangover? I try rolling away from the light but the weight of something warm pressing my back and the firm arms around me stops me and makes my eyes fly open. My mind and heart begin to race as I try remembering how I got here and where I am? Looking around the room I can’t recognize anything. My eyes slowly roam from the bedside table to the glass door and the rest of the room. I try sitting up but the arms around me squeezes a bit tighter, followed by a low protesting groan. On cue, there is a knock on the door with a muffled female voice asking for permission to enter the pool area, we tell her to come in. “I’m sorry to disturb you madams but Miss Scarlet, the Alpha has been trying to reach you.” She says. “I have talked to him already, thank you.” Lettie says with a slight frown. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know. Skylar’s POVI try to control my breathing and the rapid beating of my heart. Dad turns on the light and walks slowly into the room. I restrain myself from peeping and I focus on being asleep. Stefan’s foot keeps twitching under mine and it’s extremely uncomfortable. I keep praying and hoping that just this once Dad wouldn’t react the way he usually does. He walks to where I am and I realize my prayers will not be answered after all. With bated breath I wait for his raised voice or hit but nothing comes. Skylar’s POVIf I can settle on a title for this dinner it will be, “WHAT THE ACTUAL F***?!” It will also be in bright red capital letters. When we came back from the mall, there wasn’t even time to breathe, talk more about taking a nap. We had decided to try on the dresses and other things we bought but Dad sent a maid to “hurry us up” since the guests were close by.
