SHARON’S POV

Curiosity guided my steps as I made my way through the halls. I took in every detail. Every tapestry, every vase, every painting, every door.

Everything I passed was a mystery awaiting to be unlocked.

After breakfast with Morris and Kelly this morning, the two men announced that they had royal duties to attend to. But they made sure to inform me to make myself comfortable.

And that was exactly what I was doing.

I passed by a few servants, maids and guards alike. Some bowed at me as a way of greeting, others shot me side glances while they whispered when they thought they were out of heating range.

They weren’t.

“I heard she got pregnant for a great wizard who killed her family.”

“I heard she got pregnant for her mate, killed him after she caught him cheating and fled.”

“I heard that her mate left her for sister. She just wailed and ran away like a pussy instead of standing her ground. How pathetic.”

Their gossip made me wish that I really had killed my mage as they claim

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THREE: THE DASHED HOPE.

SHARON'S POV.Happiness enveloped me the moment I read his text."I love you, my sweetness."I read it once.Twice.Thrice.Then the fourth time pressing the phone to my chest as though I could absorb the warmth of his words straight into my heart.I smiled through tears, a shaky hopeful smile that felt like sunlight after endless rain. That one sentence did what hours of crying couldn't. It gave me hope. Real hope. I was certain that with this message, everything would be okay. I know Morris loved me so much and he wasn't faking it when he said it. The joy in me knows no bounds.I wiped my face, took a deep breath, and stood up straighter.Everything would be fine.I can't wait for him to come back, hug me the way he used to, and also buy me things because aside from the fact that he loved me, he was so generous. That belief stayed with me as I stepped into the corridor that afternoon, my heart beating fast with anticipation. I had dressed carefully looking so beautiful not to impres

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWO; THE SILENT PAIN

SHARON'S POV.When Morris did not pick my call, I knew deep down, in that quiet place where truth lives that this has gone too far.I stood there in the hallway, phone pressed to my ear long after the call had ended, listening to nothing but the hollow echo of my own breathing. The hall felt louder than usual. Too many footsteps. Too many voices. Too many people who would notice if my face cracked or not.I lowered the phone slowly. No. I couldn't let anyone see her majesty like this.I adjusted my gown, forced my shoulders back, and began to walk away from the council wing. My steps were steady, but inside, everything was falling apart. I avoided the common areas, taking the longer corridors, slipping past servants and guards who bowed respectfully, unaware that their queen was barely holding herself together.I didn't want greetings.I didn't want sympathy of any kind. Most of all, I didn't want anyone to see the fear in my eyes.By the time I got to our chamber, my chest ached lik

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND ONE: THE SUBSTANCE.

SANDRA'S POV.The walk back to my chamber felt longer than usual. Not because of distance but because the pack could feel me. Doors closed as I passed. Heads bowed too quickly. Fear rolled through the corridors like a living thing and was intoxicating.Indeed, power is so sweet. So this is what Roland has been enjoying, now it's my turn to do the same. The only problem I've been having is my wolf. She's just unbelieving. I thought she would be happy and satisfied, yet she has been disturbing me. She paced restlessly, scraping the inside of my skull. If there's a way I could take her out completely, I would have done that. Maybe I should meet the seer for this or ask the Moon Goddess."You're losing control, " she warned.I ignored her.I was still thinking about Eron. A lot was going through my mind. Could it be that he was using charm, or what, because there was just something about him? By the time I reached my chamber, my phone was vibrating again. Once.Twice.Persistent and it

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED: THE FINAL SAY.

SANDRA'S POV.As soon as Roland disappeared, I quickly drifted to sleep. I woke up hours later and didn't turn on my phone until then.Silence is a luxury when you rule with fear. It keeps the noise of the pack out of your head and lets your thoughts sharpen into blades. I was really enjoying myself ever since I became an Alpha. So this is what it takes to be an Alpha? I thought aloud.I lay back against the cold bed staring at the ceiling, counting the cracks like they were victories I'd carved into stone. When I finally reached for my phone, I saw some messages, and I thought it could be a business message from my business partners that would give me more money. I opened the message and it was from an unknown number. I don't entertain messages from unknown numbers.I quickly opened it to know what it's all about."Alpha, your father has been rushed to the hospital."I blinked once Then twice.Hospital?Without my consent? My countenance changed immediately.Rage surged so fast that

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER NINETY-NINE: THE SECRET

SHARON'S POV.As soon as Morris left the room, it was as though there was something heavy hanging on my shoulder. I felt a weight that I couldn't explain. At first, I thought it was because I had said what I was not supposed to say, but it was far from that. Ever since Roland died, I have been this way, but after the conversation I had with Morris that evening, it doubled, not just doubled, but tripled.Morning comes so quickly. It was not long before I went to bed, and it was already morning.Light creeps into the chamber in thin, pale lines, slicing through the heavy curtains and landing right on my face like an accusation. I haven't really slept. I have been on the couch after my conversation with Morris. Something strange started happening to me. Every time I close my eyes, I see Morris' face, pain, and disappointment all over his face. I saw his face when I said it---you failed me. I felt so bad that I didn't really use the right words on him.I push myself upright, slowly, one h

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER NINETY-EIGHT: HE SHOWED UP

SANDRA'S POV.I stood where I was and waited for him.Elder Kael was walking toward me, slower than ever, although that's how he walks because of old age. His cane was tapping against the stone floor like it was deliberately testing my patience. I folded my arms, jaw clenched, already decided his fate before he even reached me.If he said one wrong thing, one that rubbed my temper the wrong way, I would have him dragged to the dungeon myself. Age or no age. He finally stopped a few steps away, bowing his head slightly."Great Alpha," he said carefully. "I wish to have a conversation with you."I didn't let him finish."I didn't have that kind of time," I snapped, my voice sharp enough to cut through the corridor. "Move."His brows knit together in surprise but I was already walking past him. I didn't spare him another glance. I was done entertaining elders who thought my throne was open for discussion.Behind me, I heard him sigh, then shuffle away, mumbling to himself. I walked fast
