“You’re five weeks pregnant, Luna.” The pack’s doctor’s voice rang over and over in my head, which made me smile as I rubbed on my still flat stomach and looked out my room’s window.
To say that I was super excited was an understatement. I was beyond overjoyed.
My heart swelled with so much joy, and I was brimming with so much excitement about the prospect of breaking the news to my husband, Luke that at first, I didn’t notice when he came into my room.
“Baby,” I heard him call softly at me, and I jumped slightly in fright because I wasn’t expecting him here in the first place.
He smiled, showing off his dimples and dropped a tray of mouthwatering goodies on the bedside table before he began walking towards me with a smug smile on his face.
I wanted to blurt out the good news to him, but I didn’t. I already knew the surprise would totally blow his mind but at the same time I wanted it to come off as a bigger surprise.
We’ve been wanting to bear children ever since we got married a few years ago and took up the positions of Alpha and Luna after my parents died in an automobile accident.
My husband, Luke had been my pillar ever since. At first he used to be a gardener who worked only on weekends in my palace until I was finally introduced to him through Annabel, my best friend.
Right now, he was my only family, and I couldn’t thank the moon goddess enough for bringing someone this lovely into my life.
As soon as he came over to me, he engulfed me in an embrace and began peppering featherlight kisses down the length of my back and neck.
“How did the meeting with Alpha Kingston go today?” I moaned, closing my eyes as he began a circular pattern with his tongue along the length of my neck.
I was almost about to give into his insanely sweet when he suddenly pulled away and began pushing me to the bed.
“It’s too early for sex you know?” I said, wiggling my eyes suggestively at him; and in response he simply shrugged me off while he chuckled.
“Alpha Kingston is willing to be our Ally and is willing to buy some of our company shares…his only condition is that you’ll be present during the meeting.” He said, smiling.
I slowly sat on the bed, allowing him smother me with kisses and pampering. He placed the tray of food on my thighs and helped me with the cutleries.
“But you’ll be there, you’re alpha.” I said exasperatedly.
“We’ll yes I am, but he’s one of the few people who still insists that you’re Alpha and that I only took up the position because you got married to me.” He scoffed.
I could see the angry lines that had formed across his forehead, and I sighed, patting a space beside me for him to come sit with me.
At my cue, he sat down and then held my hands in his as he spoke; “For how long do I have to live under your shadow?”
At first the question bothered me, and irked me but I shrugged it off thinking that he was probably frustrated, and so I replied;
“You are not living under my shadow my love, I love you and you love me; and I do not care how others see you aside from how I see you.”
“To make you feel better, I already transferred my company’s ownership to you. It’s yours now and they would have no other option but to bend to your whims… I’ve done that since last week but didn’t want to tell you about it initially.” I added.
As soon as I said those, he quickly embraced me, and then just as the food tray was about to topple to the floor, he caught it and pushed it towards me.
I opened the plate of food immediately, and sighed, taking in the mouthwatering aroma of the spaghetti and baked zucchini and allowing it to fill my senses.
“Damn!” I mumbled as the food hit my tongue. It tasted just as good as it smelled, thus making my taste buds go on overdrive.
“You like it?” He asked, smiling at me and I could only nod to prevent myself from spilling half chewed food out of my mouth.
There was a quality to the way he stared at me that had me wondering if it was out of love or something else.
“I have good news!” I blurted, finding it quite difficult to contain my excitement. I noticed how he turned to stare curiously at me, but then looked away almost immediately.
“You can tell me all that when you’re done eating.” He mumbled.
“Won’t you eat with me?” I asked suddenly, and was beyond shocked when he shook his head in negation.
Luke always ate with me. It was a sort of tradition between us as we felt it helped strengthen our bond; there had to be something absolutely mighty for him not to want to join me now.
“What’s wrong?” I asked but when he wouldn’t respond, I slowly looked up at him to find a brooding kind of expression across his handsome face.
It scared me so much that I dropped my cutlery and stared at the plate of food while my wolf kept whispering to me that something was definitely out of place.

“Please get me water, Luke.” I croaked out, almost desperately as waves of intense pain ran from my midriffs until it wracked my entire body.
To my utter disbelief, he didn't move an inch, and neither did he behave like I just asked him to do something.
“Luke…” I cried. “My stomach hurts!” I yelled, doubling up in pain.
Instinctively, I looked up at him to further plead with him only to find myself looking into the eyes of my husband, which were presently filled with intense loathing.
“No.” He muttered, eyeing me in disgust.
“Why are you doing this? What’s in the food?!” I questioned in desperation. In response, he scoffed at me and then he glared at me.
“What do you think it is? Poison obviously.” He replied cockily, without even an ounce of remorse in his voice.
“Why would do even do this to me…” I cried, feeling more waves of the pain run through my body until it was unbearable.
“For your throne obviously.” He snapped. His reply seemed to enrage me, and at the same time felt like a huge slap to my face.
“But you said you loved me…” I cried, “was everything a sham, a way for you to simply become alpha? Was I a joke to you? Was my love a joke to you?”
“You have to stop spewing those gibberish out of your mouth before I’m forced to smack you hard across the face.” He growled, staring down at me.
I stared at him in disbelief. This wasn’t my Luke, my husband. The only man who had ever showered me with more than enough love and had made me fallen head over heels in love with him.
The cold floor felt a little too hard against my back and my body prickled painfully from its harshness against my skin.
“Luke…” I called out again but he ignored me.
I coughed suddenly and was beyond shocked when traces of blood fell off with my spittle. What has this man given to me?
How could he do this to me when I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong to deserve this sort of treatment from him.
“What did I ever do to you to deserve this…” I cried out as the pain in my stomach was fast spreading to my chest and making it quite impossible to breathe.
“Yo-you poisoned the food?” I stuttered, crying as an intense pain ran up my body. It was so intense that I shuddered from it.
“And who cares—” He started saying, noticed how he turned towards me as he tried to say something but immediately held his tongue when the door suddenly flung open, and someone else walked in.
From where I lay on the cold cemented floor with blood slowly seeping out of my mouth, the only thing I could make out was a lady’s silhouette.
I held my breath, praying that she would be my saving grace until she finally stepped into the light, making my breath hitch in my throat.
“Annabel!” I screamed hopefully, with my hands outstretched as if in a bid to reach her feet.
I suddenly felt hopeful that she had intruded, for it was Annabel, my best friend!
SCARLETT'S POVMy wedding day came, and it was glorious. I woke up bright and early, happy beyond understanding, to be alive and well on my own wedding day. A real wedding, that was not fake or a lie or a trap. This was my real life wedding dream. The sun was shining brightly, and the sky was blue with just a few fluffy white clouds. It was a perfect day for a wedding. I got up and went to the window to look outside. The view was breathtaking. The ocean was calm and still, the beach was clean and beautiful, and the trees were swaying in the gentle breeze. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and thanked God for this beautiful day and for bringing Atlas into my life.I then turned to the room, which was already bustling with activity. Nader was busy putting the finishing touches on the decorations, Paula was helping Lillian with her hair and makeup, Camille was making sure everythi
With Annabel dead and Luke gone far away in search of his own life, Scarlett finally felt like it was time to let go and allow herself to wed Atlas and be a Luna instead of an Alpha."It is definitely time to get married and settle down, have little pups running around here and live out my own happily ever after. What do you think, Atlene?" Scarlett asks Atlene on a cool leisurely evening in the gardens.Atlene sighs and looks over at her with a vague expression on his face. "I feel like you deserve all the peace and happiness in this world, Scarlett," he said wistfully, looking away quickly from Scarlett's face."What do you mean, Atlene? Please talk to me. What exactly are you talking about? You seem very sad too. Are you alright?" Scarlett asks near tears."You deserve to be happy with my brother, Atlas." He pauses and looks at Scarlett. "I know
"I think it is high time that Scarlett and I had a sit-down to talk about our differences and squash them once and for all. I cannot go on living like this, where I'm looking over my shoulders and waiting to be attacked or planning on attacking whatever battalion she has on her side." Scarlett says quietly, and Atlas looks lovingly at her."Are you really sure that it is what you want?" Atlas asks and she nods in agreement."Let's fight once and for all and end this. I am exhausted with the whole charade. Aren't you? If the moon goddess wasn't involved the last two times, I would be dead right about now. It is enough with the cat and mice games. Let's get on with this and settle it forever." Scarlett says, and Atlas nods in agreement once again. The sun had set, and the sky was covered with shades of orange and pink as Atlas and Scarlett walked towards the designated meeting
SCARLETT'S POVWe expected an attack from Annabel and the Storm Pack, but nothing prepared us for the sudden attack that occurred. I was blindsided, and it broke my heart to see my wolves being killed randomly.I went out, fighting hard beside Atlas, Atlene, Ken, Nader, Kenji, Paula, Lillian, Camille and Daniel. It felt like deja vu, as if we were back in the war against the Storm pack that had threatened our territory years ago.The sound of snarls, growls and screams filled the air as we fought fiercely. I could see the determination in my wolves' eyes as they fought to protect their home and their Alpha.I fought with everything I had, my claws and teeth tearing into the flesh of our attackers. But for every enemy we took down, two more would take their place. They were relentless, and it seemed like they had an endless supply of warriors.
As they returned to their den, Annabel couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the pack that she had found. They were strong, loyal, and brave, and she knew that they would always be there for each other, no matter what challenges lay ahead.Together, they had faced their enemies and emerged victorious. Together, they had shown kindness to those in need. And together, they would continue to thrive and grow, building a brighter future for themselves and their pack.As Annabel settled into her spot by the fire that night, she felt a sense of peace and contentment wash over her. She was proud to be a part of this pack, and she knew that she would do anything to protect them and keep them safe. The war had been tough, but the pack had come out stronger than ever before. They had proven that they were a force to be reckoned with, and they had shown the world that they would not back down in the face of danger.
The day that they had planned on attacking Scarlett's pack finally came. Scarlett was super excited even as she and Luke were going to be in the shadows mostly."After today, Scarlett and her pack will be a thing of the past. How does that make you feel?" Scarlett asks Alpha Akin, and he smiles widely at her.Alpha Akin grinned at Annabel's question, his eyes glinting with anticipation. "It's time for justice to be served," he said. "They have caused too much chaos and destruction in this region for far too long. It's time for them to pay for their crimes."Annabel nodded in agreement, her own excitement bubbling inside her. She had always been loyal to Alpha Akin and his pack, and the thought of taking down their enemies only added to her sense of purpose. The plan was simple: Alpha Akin and his strongest warriors would lead the charge against Scarlett's pack,
