Chapter 6

His heart was racing against his chest. He could smell the thick smoke that surrounded him. His heart beat frantically as he tried to make out the scene that was around him. But he couldn’t see anything. He watched as a moment later the room was illuminated with light and he wished that he could go back and make it stop.

He was met with the sight of the packhouse on fire. He was on his knees as he heard several screams coming from inside the house. He looked towards it frantically as he saw several silhouettes through the glass. He felt his heart race as he tried to get up but he was weak. He felt the whisper in his ear as he tried to say what it was. He didn’t want to think too much about it as she tried not to be bothered by it all as he let out a sigh from her lips as he tried to make his way over towards it. He huffed as he ducked it in and tried to make himself calm.
