I slowly pulled on the three-piece. It was getting dark, and I needed to visit my sister. Just like always, it fitted perfectly. Gave me the dark look I wanted.

It wasn't like Ember Moon didn't know I was alive already, but it would still be better that I go discreetly. I wasn't ready to show myself to everyone yet.

As I properly arranged the cloak and it's good on my head. Axton sighed.

“You're sure you don't want me to come with you?" He asked.

“I don't." I said coldly as I grabbed the dagger I had and shoved it into my boot.

“You've already escorted me this far, you should head back to the cave."

He nodded slowly. “You should be careful."

I took a quick glance at him. “I'm the White Wolf, they should be careful of me instead."

A sense of pride crept in as I said that. I smirked as I walked into the woods, not sparing another glance at Axton.

I was going to spend the night with my sister. I didn't have any gifts but I just wanted to be with her. I walked past the trees effortle

As I ran back toward my cave, uncalled tears began to drift from my eyes. I blinked them away angrily. Why did I have to see her? Why did she have to ruin my night?I slammed myself against a tree in anger. A pain shot from my shoulder joints and I yelped in pain. But I didn't stop, I resumed running. I ran to my former promontory and howled into the night. Another howl responded from a distance. I listened carefully, to make sure it wasn't a stranger answering to my howl. My heart finally calmed when I realized it belonged to Axton. I gave another loud howl and he responded.I resumed running again, not stopping until I got to the lake. As soon as I did, I threw my clothes that I had held in my fangs to a corner and jumped into the lake. This time, I wanted to flush away the thoughts that were burning in my head. I didn't give myself time to breathe, I just allowed myself to sink down.I realized that I was drowning so I struggled to swim back to the top but no matter how much I pu

The wind blew past us as I sped in between the trees. I finally slowed down as I neared my cave. A few distances away, I stopped and changed, then led her there. I parted the vines and stepped in. Axton was sitting close to the fire, lost in thought. His eyes turned to us as we stepped in. His gaze moved from mine to Irene's in confusion.Irene pressed herself close to me as she stared at Axton, then at me and back.“Irene, this is Axton, a friend of mine," I introduced. “Axton, this is Irene, my little sister.Axton gave a small smile while Irene gave back a small wave.“I'll give you two some privacy," Axton said and hurried out.I walked towards the fireplace and sat down then gestured for Irene to sit close to me. I noticed her eyes roaming around the cave as she sat down next to me.“You live in a bear cave,” she muttered.I glanced at her then back to the fire. I didn't say anything. I nudged the coal with a stick in my hand to prompt more heat."What do you even eat on a daily

Holding Irene in my arms was the comfort I needed to calm the storm that was raging within me. She was the only family I had left, the only one I cared for. I buried my face into her neck and inhaled her scent deeply. “Happy birthday 12th Irene." She giggled, squirming in my arms. “Thank you, Aries. I'm so glad you're here”We pulled apart, breathless. I smiled at her and brushed a loose strand of her hair from her face.“I thought you wouldn't come." She said and let out a sigh.“Why wouldn't I? I wouldn't miss it for the whole world." I replied."We should go somewhere else,” she said, glancing over her shoulder. “I don't want Mom and Dad to see you.”I nodded slowly. “Where would you like to go?" She sighed. “I don't know…let's just walk in the woods." Turning, I began to lead her in the same direction I had come. She followed happily, her hands clasped around mine as she jumped with excitement.“Oh!" She exclaimed. “Why don't you take me to where you live in the woods?" I bli

As my hand tried desperately to touch the spot at my back, uncomfortable pain began to shoot from my shoulder joints. I hissed in frustration.“What is this?" I asked in frustration.Axton moved away from me but his eyes stayed glued to mine as he watched me struggle to touch the spot on my back.“I'm only able to know you were poisoned because I saw it on your wolf," he said. “Also I think it's linked to the reason why you passed out earlier in front of those people." No matter how far my mind roamed trying to guess how I got poisoned, I couldn't.Then my mind snapped back to the fight I had with the Shadow Wolf. Could it have poisoned me? But how? What was even more scary was I had no idea it was there. I didn't feel any pain and if Axton hadn't told me, I would never have known.“Did you come in contact with any ….”"I think I know what poisoned me," I sighed, I locked eyes with Axton who had concern all over his face. “Do you know of any way to get rid of it?" A slow poison was

Axton looked confused as to why what he just told me surprised me.“Is everything ok?" He asked.I scoffed at his confusion. Like the revelation that humans knew we existed wasn't a big deal.I kept on walking, refusing to say anything.“Are you feeling that it would've been better if they didn't know?" He asked. His question pissed me off even more. I stopped in my tracks and gave him a fierce look.“Well we didn't do it voluntarily,” he said.“Yeah, a knife was pressed to your alpha's neck to do it," I replied sarcastically. "It's a long way from the cave, I'm going to resume running.”Without waiting for his reply. I doubled my pace and left him behind. I didn't want to watch him go naked so he could shift. As I ran, a voice inside me brought back the matter of him staying. Even though I didn't want him to, his presence here comforted me somehow. It made me feel like I wasn't totally alone and like apart from Irene, someone still cared for me. The thought made my skin tingle but I
