Betrayal can seem like a necessary decision to make when it favors one party, but what about the other party?, the one who was betrayed?, do their feelings matter?. And what happens when the people who are supposed to stand with you through thick and thin also turn their back against you because of a false allegation, would the heart ever be strong enough to withstand the heartbreak and forgive them?. This is the case of Aries, at the peak of her life where she was supposed to be celebrating her maturity, she's betrayed by the one she holds dear in her heart and the ones who are supposed to stand with her, turn their backs on her and join others to criticize her. Will she ever forgive them or will she get her revenge on all of them?
View MoreEmber moon pack is a fast growing community/county of werewolves only hidden in the outskirts and mountains of Montana, U.S.A. It's strictly closed to humans and non-wolves. Although we're hidden from the outside world, that doesn't mean the outside world is hidden from us, we've got electricity and nice cars but phones were banned. The previous alpha marked it as distracting and unnecessary since we're not to contact non wolves.
We've got good buildings like the mall, eateries and the likes, our school is actually a training center for young wolves. The mall consists of clothes and accessories shipped in by an appointed person in the community, who has been authorized to go out to human cities to bring them in according to the needs of the community from time to time. That is the only contact we have with non wolves .
There are other wolf territories all around the world with almost the same law, but this is how the Ember moon pack is led.

I walked stealthily, my feet barely touching the ground, my hand pressed tightly against my mouth trying to hold back a giggle. I hid behind a tree, listening to both of them grumble and complain about how late I am. I stifled a giggle and gave them a jump scare. They both jumped up, screaming in fright
“What in…. Aries, do you plan on giving me a heart attack???” June asked with a hand against his chest, heaving heavily.
“Relax, you're too young to get a heart attack" I replied still laughing
" It's so annoying how I knew you were going to jump scare us but I still got frightened, what is wrong with you!” Isla yelled at me trying to call herself down.
“Alright I'm sorry. I just felt like since these few days are going to be our last days being kids,I felt like really spicing things, I'm sorry” I apologized with my head down feigning guilt.
"I know you, you're not actually sorry,I know your apology is all a facade” June said walking away. Isla and I both trotted after him.
“I heard my dad discussing with alpha Dominic on how the ceremony would go” Isla announced
" Really, what was it about ?" June asked, showing interest.
“Alpha Dominic was worried about a rogue on the far outskirts of the village, although they've chased it away but he's worried it might sneak in during the ceremony and attack someone. My dad told him not to worry, that he'll send people to cross check the forests to make sure it's gone” Isla explained and shivered
" A rogue!! In the village!!?, that's scary” I exclaimed in fear.
"Oh don't worry Aries, I'll protect you and Isla from it” June said proudly.
Isla and I burst into laughter which generated a frown from June
" I won't say anything further but one day, I'll be the only one around to protect you, maybe by then you won't laugh like you're doing now” he murmured.
“Well till then big man. I wonder what the color of my wolf would be" Isla wondered
“I want a black wolf, I'll blend the night with only the glow of my eyes visible. That will be my most powerful weapon, Invisibility” June said proudly
“I want brown, it'll look so cool" Isla chipped in.
“What about you Aries ,what color do you want your wolf to be?” June asked me.
I stared into space lost in thought.
“I don't have a specific color, I just want to be a strong wolf" I replied nonchalantly
The wolf call ceremony was an event where all kids that were turning 18 shift for the first time, it's a practice that has existed since I can remember. Whether your birthday was before or after that memorable day, everyone who's turning 18 must get their wolf on that day. The wolf call ceremony is done in the middle of the year.
We separated and headed to our homes after hanging out for a while. I was excited to get my wolf, I can finally join in the morning run with my dad and brother, and join the night howl with other wolves.
I had all these in mind, ignorant of the plans the moon goddess had in store for me and even the village as a whole. We all prepared for the ceremony unprepared for an event that will change what we've come to believe in.
The first one came fast, so fast. A flash of black fur and muscle tore through the air toward me, claws glinting like curved blades. I ducked and swung my claw upwards, slicing across his chest. The force sent him spinning into a tree, as dark red blood spilled from the wound. The others didn't flinch; they moved like a pack, synchronized and vicious. Axton leapt forward, sinking his teeth into the shoulders of the one with dreadlocks. The lycan roared and slammed him against the ground. The impact shook the soil beneath my paw.“Axton," I snarled and slammed into the lycan before he could strike again. We rolled across the earth, snapping, claws scraping. His breath was foul with blood and something darker: magic. I bit down on his arm, tearing through fur and flesh until I felt bone give way beneath my jaws. His scream of agony echoed through the trees.Another one lunged at me from behind, but Axton intercepted him, knocking him off balance. The forest became chaos, filled with how
I crouched as low to the ground as I could, but my huge figure still stood out among the bushes we hid in. Axton's wolf shifted close to me, so close that our fur rubbed against each other. He wasn't paying attention to me; rather, he was concentrating on the men. His ears stood and his eyes squinted as he listened like prey about to pounce on a predator. He suddenly turned to me, and I snapped my gaze back to the hunters, avoiding his eyes. There were four men. Two of them with huge body sizes and the other two just the normal size. One of the huge guys was hairy, with a full beard, long black locs, and a weird mustache. The other was the complete opposite; he had a bald head and no beard, but he was covered in tattoos, and he had his right ear pierced. The first of the slim guys had short black hair, with a scar running from his eyes down to the top of his lips like a tear. His whole left arm was covered in tattoos of weird patterns, and his eyes were dark as if they brooded evil. T
The night passed in fragments of restless dreams. I tossed beneath my blanket, drowsiness still clutching at my eyes. When I finally stirred awake, the fire had dimmed into glowing embers, painting the cave a faint red hue.I turned. Axton was still asleep on the mattress. His steady breathing filled the silence and for a moment I decided to watch him. He looked peaceful and somehow….. beautiful. His eyebrows furrowed and his lips parted slightly, they looked good, almost as if I could kiss it. I widened my eyes at the thoughts in my head. I tore my gaze away and immediately sat up, I shouldn't be thinking about him like this.I walked to the entrance of the cave, the vines were beginning to die, I'd have to replace them for the third time. The air outside was cold, mist curled at the mouth of the cave. I stepped out, hugging my arms around myself tightly. The memories of last night pressed on me like a weight. You should have let yourself drown, the darker part of me whispered. It w
As I ran back toward my cave, uncalled tears began to drift from my eyes. I blinked them away angrily. Why did I have to see her? Why did she have to ruin my night?I slammed myself against a tree in anger. A pain shot from my shoulder joints and I yelped in pain. But I didn't stop, I resumed running. I ran to my former promontory and howled into the night. Another howl responded from a distance. I listened carefully, to make sure it wasn't a stranger answering to my howl. My heart finally calmed when I realized it belonged to Axton. I gave another loud howl and he responded.I resumed running again, not stopping until I got to the lake. As soon as I did, I threw my clothes that I had held in my fangs to a corner and jumped into the lake. This time, I wanted to flush away the thoughts that were burning in my head. I didn't give myself time to breathe, I just allowed myself to sink down.I realized that I was drowning so I struggled to swim back to the top but no matter how much I pu
The wind blew past us as I sped in between the trees. I finally slowed down as I neared my cave. A few distances away, I stopped and changed, then led her there. I parted the vines and stepped in. Axton was sitting close to the fire, lost in thought. His eyes turned to us as we stepped in. His gaze moved from mine to Irene's in confusion.Irene pressed herself close to me as she stared at Axton, then at me and back.“Irene, this is Axton, a friend of mine," I introduced. “Axton, this is Irene, my little sister.Axton gave a small smile while Irene gave back a small wave.“I'll give you two some privacy," Axton said and hurried out.I walked towards the fireplace and sat down then gestured for Irene to sit close to me. I noticed her eyes roaming around the cave as she sat down next to me.“You live in a bear cave,” she muttered.I glanced at her then back to the fire. I didn't say anything. I nudged the coal with a stick in my hand to prompt more heat."What do you even eat on a daily
Holding Irene in my arms was the comfort I needed to calm the storm that was raging within me. She was the only family I had left, the only one I cared for. I buried my face into her neck and inhaled her scent deeply. “Happy birthday 12th Irene." She giggled, squirming in my arms. “Thank you, Aries. I'm so glad you're here”We pulled apart, breathless. I smiled at her and brushed a loose strand of her hair from her face.“I thought you wouldn't come." She said and let out a sigh.“Why wouldn't I? I wouldn't miss it for the whole world." I replied."We should go somewhere else,” she said, glancing over her shoulder. “I don't want Mom and Dad to see you.”I nodded slowly. “Where would you like to go?" She sighed. “I don't know…let's just walk in the woods." Turning, I began to lead her in the same direction I had come. She followed happily, her hands clasped around mine as she jumped with excitement.“Oh!" She exclaimed. “Why don't you take me to where you live in the woods?" I bli
