LOGINZayn's POV
I tried to keep my face expressionless as Lorenzo spoke. “Just received a call from Jade, the secret warehouse is about to get raided, the local police tipped off Interpol. They probably flagged it down or something.” my hands clenched around the table. I turned to face my brother. “Handle the documents with him, I have to leave right now,” I said and turned to leave, brushing past people as I tried to keep my cool, ignoring anyone that tried talking to me. I brought out my phone and started dialing jade's number the moment I was out of earshot and i knew no one could hear what I was going to be saying. The bodyguard waiting outside the car opened the door and I slipped in before they shut it after me. The driver started the car and Jade picked the call. “Find a way to move out the supplies from the warehouse, I don't care how you do it, just find a way, we can't afford to let them get there and see all of that there it's going to get us in deep trouble.” i spoke with urgency etched into my tone. I was supposed to smuggle those drugs to Cincinnati next week, I had a big deal coming in but with the current development, things were more likely to go wrong. I dropped the call and immediately contacted the pharmacists that were working for me. I needed them to be active in situations like this. I didn't want the drugs all mixed up they know how they can carefully foresee the handling of the moving of drugs. I realized that i could only reach a few of them. I cursed internally, promising to punish them for being unavailable in situations like this when all of this was over. We arrived home after what seemed like eternity. I got out of the car as fast as I could, heading straight to my personal office. I picked up my tablet and immediately contacted the other tech and security teams. Tapping the mic on my collar I whispered into it. A bodyguard at the entrance followed me instantly. “Hack into the systems and start wiping out everything on it, tell jade to get the drones ready, if the need arises you can set the warehouse ablaze, I'm taking no chances, I need y'all to get back to me as soon as possible on the development of things, I want it done swiftly.” I walked briskly into the elevator, checking the CCTV footage through my tablet. My suit suddenly felt uncomfortable. I pulled at my tie, loosening it a bit. Handing over the tablet to the bodyguard, I took off my suit jacket and dumped it on his shoulder snatching the tablet from him. He removed the jacket from his shoulder, folded it and held it in his hand, going back to position behind me. I passed the hallway and heard my dad's voice laughing and a feminine voice in the background. My jaw clenched at the sound. Not wanting to see whoever he was talking to, I came into the living area of the mansion and refused to spare him or his lady friend a glance. “You're back early,” he said. “There's an emergency,” I replied coldly without stopping. “Stop I need you to meet someone,” he sighed. “I said there's an emergency, I can't afford to engage in uncessary conversations with you and your business partners.” “This is not about any fucking business this is about you damn it!” He bellowed. I finally stopped in my tracks and turned to spare him a glance. “What now?” I asked irritated. I finally took a good look at the woman. She had too much makeup on, her teeth looked as fake as her boobs which were almost spilling out of her gown. Her hair was bright blonde and she held a cup of sparkling wine with a lipstick stain at the rim. “Come over here and meet Fiona,” my dad said, his voice calm but laced with warning. I saw the expression on his face as he quietly warned me to not try anything funny. I sighed and glanced briefly at the tablet, watching how my men we're moving out cartoons of parcels with the efficiency I demanded from them, I turned it off satisfied and handed the tablet to the bodyguard. “Take that to my room,” I said to him. I walked towards my dad and sat across him, unbottoning the top three buttons of my shirt. Fiona sat there, a coy smile on her face as her eyes trailed down my neck and my exposed chest. She thrust her chest forward and I gave her a very irritated look. She didn't seem to notice instead she repositioned her self, exposing her white smooth legs. I looked away and stared at father. My phone buzzed in my bucket and I fought the urge to not pick it. “The issue I discussed with you earlier… I figured since you don't have a girlfriend I can help you work things out. Fiona's dad owns one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies, I decided it would help the gang and her father's business if you both decided to get engaged to each other.” I stared at my dad in disbelief and stared at the girl sitting beside him, wondering how on earth I was supposed to get engaged to that thing heavily coated with make-up. My phone buzzed again and I immediately became impatient. “Because I didn't bring a girl home to you doesn't mean I don't have a girlfriend, I would like it if this would be the first and the last time you try to plan my engagement to someone without my knowledge.” Fiona's smile dropped a little. My dad stared at me in surprise. “You have a girlfriend?” “Yes I do, I'll bring her to you when the time is right you do not to go through all these length to try and push your fucking responsibilities on me… now if you'll excuse me, I have something important to attend to.” I stood up and walked away leaving them both speechless. I took my phone and sent a quick text to Lorenzo. 'Speed up the search for the bodyguard and while you're doing that get me anyone that is ready to pretend to be my fiance for a few months.' I took out my phone and stared at the missed calls and messages from Jade. 'We couldn't get rid of all the supplies but we were successfully able to move out most of it.' I nodded in satisfaction. My phone rang almost immediately I finished reading the text message. It was jade calling. “Boss…” he said, his voice etched with worry, I didn't think much into it. “I'm glad you handled everything properly, next time don't let it get too late before you realize stufs like this, your incompetence almost caused a big deal…” “...boss there's a problem,” he interrupted me sharply. My brows furrowed. “ What happened Jade?” “The two of the pharmacists from the main warehouse… we didn't know they were still in the warehouse, when Lorenzo sent in the drones, they blew up the warehouse with the two of them still in it.” My blood ran cold.ZAYNThe dock smelled like salt, diesel, and old rope, the kind of place where deals went down under flickering lights and nobody asked questions. The ship finally bumped against the concrete pier, engines coughing their last as the crew exploded into action. They scrambled off like rats fleeing a sinking ship, boots slapping against the wet planks, voices overlapping in a frantic mess of curses and shouts. I didn’t blame them. Today had been long, bloody, it was perfectly normal for them to try and get off as fast as they could.I stepped off last, Celez slung over my shoulder like a sack of grain. My arm locked around her legs to keep her steady, her weight familiar now after carrying her through the lower decks. She was still out cold, breathing shallow against my back. I kept my pace even, boots crunching over gravel as I moved toward the waiting group.Jade stood there with backup, half a dozen of our guys, armed and alert, scanning the area like they expected trouble to jump out
AURELIAI rolled on my bed, my stomach growling with hunger. I was genuinely starting to wonder if those two brothers then were even humans. They seemed perfectly comfortable not having anything to eat. I got up after a long time of pondering and headed to the kitchen. Looking at the eggs, I cursed loudly and decided to fry some eggs instead. Heating the pan up I poured some oil and started looking for where I was supposed to break the eggs in. I couldn't find any. My stomach growled and I had the urge to scratch my hair but then I remembered the bandage I had and decided against it.Suddenly the frying pan caught fire and I stood, transfixed to the spot, not knowing what to do about it. The flames licked the edge of the pan.I stood there like a statue, eyes wide as the flames danced higher in the frying pan. The oil was spitting and popping, and the smell of burning filled the kitchen. My heart slammed against my ribs. Oh God, what have I done?* I reached out halfway, then pulled ba
AURELIA “...get the fucking idiots out of there…” I groaned as I struggled to gain consciousness. My head banged like crazy as I blinked. The dim chandelier was the first thing I saw. I sat upright, confused as I searched my surroundings. I became familiar with Zayn's small penthouse.“, you're overlooking the fact that someone leaked information that went as far as reaching interpol,” Lorenzo's voice came from outside the door. My head throbbed painfully and I realized I had a bandage around it.Their bickering outside wasn't even helping situations. I pushed open the door and saw Zayn looking pissed off as he cleaned a shotgun. Both their gazes snapped towards my direction, alarmed and cautious.Lorenzo's expression softened a tiny bit but Zayn's remained the same.“Shouldn't you be resting in bed?” Zayn finally responded, his voice icy.“How long was I out for?” I asked back.Zayn didn't reply, he greeted me with his usual silence.“Two and a half,” Lorenzo finally spoke up in his
AURELIA Everywhere suddenly erupted in chaos. Men came forward, guns pointed at me but I relaxed. I was directly behind the captain, anyone who wanted to shoot me would have to shoot me first and then we'll all be stranded here unless someone knows how to sail a ship then yeah, we might probably get out of here.Zayn stood at the back, his expression faltering for a second before it hardened and he swung Into action. Three men rushed towards him and he had them knocked down in seconds. My gaze was glued on him, hypnotized by his movements. My heart hammered like a drum in my chest as I watched Zayn move. He was a blur of fists and power, dodging punches from two guys like it was nothing, then landing his own with sickening thuds that dropped them one after another. I kept my gun pressed against the captain’s head, trying to look like I knew what I was doing, but my eyes kept flicking back to Zayn. We were outnumbered, the deck was chaos, and every second felt like it could be our la
AURELIA My heart hammered so hard I could barely breathe. This wasn’t supposed to be happening. I was the one who was supposed to protect him, damn it. I was his bodyguard. Yet here I was, tucked against Zayn like some fragile thing while chaos exploded around us.I slowly lifted my head, and my gaze locked onto his face. God, he was beautiful. Even now, with everything falling apart, I couldn’t stop staring. His sharp jawline was clenched tight, a streak of blood running down from his temple, tracing a dark path along his cheekbone before disappearing near the corner of his mouth. It should have made him look wrecked. Instead, it only sharpened everything… the intensity in his eyes, the raw power in the set of his shoulders. The blood made him look more alive. My eyes traced the line of his nose, the slight furrow between his brows, the way his dark lashes cast faint shadows on his skin. How was it possible for someone to look like this in the middle of a gunfight? My thoughts scatt
AURELIA “I FOUND IT!”“I FOUND HIM!” My voice and Lorenzo's voice clashed together as we spoke into our earpiece.“What?” I asked again.“He was knocked unconscious and tied up by two men. I knocked them out too but I needed to get him out of here as fast as I could. Stay right there and mark that particular shipment. That can't be the only one there would be more so find every single one of them… once you've marked it we might both have to go into hiding, they've marked both our faces, you stay on deck and watch out for anyone that's more likely to be the mastermind.” The line went quiet again before I could say anything further.I cursed loudly, I marked the container and walked towards the next one. I was filled with crabs and as predicted, I walked in, wrinkling my nose as I inspected it and noticed a plastic-like kind of material peeking out from within.I was about to leave when I heard a whistle. I froze at the entrance as the man with decaying teeth suddenly stood staring at
