CHAPTER 106: DON'T ABANDON ME AND YOUR CHILD

MAXIM:

I froze as soon as I heard that statement from Olivia. A smirk appeared on her face, leaving me irritated.

“I’m pregnant, Alpha,” she blurted, taking a step closer to me.

I stared at her, blinking slowly like her words were trying to compute in my brain but couldn’t.

“What?” I asked, my voice low and cold. “Come again?”

Her lips trembled slightly, but her eyes held mine with sickening determination. “I’m carrying your child, Alpha. Isn't this what you've always wanted? You've always told me how much you needed a child.”

The audacity. The timing. The sheer madness of it all. My jaw clenched as I took a menacing step toward her.

“Olivia,” I growled, “don’t play games with me.”

“I’m not playing—”

“Bullshit,” I cut her off. “You have been with me for so many years and the doctors have confirmed that you can't get pregnant. Why are you claiming to be pregnant now? I know you're jealous of Venus but you shouldn't take it this far. You can

CHAPTER 129: DESPERATE FOR VENUS MAXIM:The first drop of rain hit my window like a taunt from the heavens. By the time I looked outside, the sky had already opened up, releasing heavy drops of water that poured down on the roofs and pounded the earth below. My chest tightened instantly.Venus… where are you?I sat up from my chair, still feeling very regretful about everything that has happened. Crystal’s words haunted me. The pictures…were all AI-generated. And the stranger who claimed that Venus was his lover was paid to do so I had accused Venus of something she never did. I had looked into her eyes, the eyes of the woman who had given me nothing but loyalty, and I had chosen to believe a deception instead. Now she was out there, alone, hurt, betrayed, and in the middle of a storm.“No,” I muttered, shaking my head violently. “I can’t just sit here.”I stormed out of my study and into the hallway. Several of my guards straightened the moment they saw me.“Alpha?” one of them a

Chapter 128: My Biggest MistakeMAXIM:I have never lost control like that in a long time. Not since I was a young wolf. When my claws ripped through that stranger’s neck, it wasn’t me, it was my wolf, Bruno. He was a massive beast and very deadly when enraged. My disappointment. My fear that Venus had betrayed me had caused me to lose my control over Bruno. Everything exploded in one moment, and before I knew it, blood was everywhere. And the stranger’s head rolled on the floor. But when I looked up, what I saw in Venus' face was pure terror. Her face was pale, and her body trembled. She backed away from me as if I was the monster she had been running from all her life. And then she turned and fled.I didn’t chase her at first. I thought she had only gone to hide, maybe in the clinic, or in the maid’s quarters. I was still angry, too furious to even listen to her. I told myself I would have to calm down before I called her back to talk. But hours passed. The sun began to sink. Shado

  • THE RUTHLESS ALPHA'S HUMAN SURROGATE    RUNNING IN THE RAIN

CHAPTER 127: RUNNING IN THE RAIN VENUS: I didn’t know how I found the strength in me, but my legs kept moving with a lightening speed. I ran like a frightened deer through the woods, my lungs burning with every breath. My heart pounded so loud I could hear it in my ears. Branches scratched my arms and face, but I didn't care. I had to run for my life. Even when stones dug into my bare feet, I still didn't stop. I just couldn’t afford to stop running because I didn't want to die. I didn’t even look where I was going most times. I just wanted to get away from the Bloodclaw pack, and from Olivia’s mocking eyes. Every few minutes, I forced myself to glance back, terrified that someone was right behind me. Maybe Maxim had sent warriors. Maybe they were hoping I would trip and fall. But each time I looked back, I saw nothing. No shadows chasing me, no sound of heavy paws hitting the ground. Just the cold, dark woods and the wind rushing past my ears. “Keep running, Venus. Just keep

CHAPTER 126: THE STRANGER’S LIEVENUS:I paced back and forth in the living room like a restless child because I've been having a terrible feeling about something going horribly wrong. I have the gift of seeing vision but I couldn't see things that are about to happen to me. I only felt heavy in my spirit.Maxim wasn’t supposed to be back until two days later, but the bond between us told me something was wrong. My wolf felt restless, like a storm was coming. When I suddenly saw him pull up outside, my heart leapt. Without thinking, I ran out of the house, barefoot, my dress brushing the grass.“Maxim!” I cried, joy bubbling in my chest as I rushed into his arms. But instead of embracing me, Maxim shoved me aside. His eyes were hard, his face unreadable.I stumbled, nearly falling. My smile froze. “M-Maxim? What’s wrong?”He brushed past me without a word and entered the house. I tried to help with his suitcase but he pushed my hand away.Confused, I hurried after him. “Maxim, wait! W

CHAPTER 125: GETTING STRANGE PICTURES MAXIM:The glow from my laptop screen was the only light in the hotel room when I finally leaned back on the chair. I had been working since dawn, trying to polish up my notes before the big meeting today. Chicago wasn’t new to me. I had attended business forums here before, but this time felt more demanding. It wasn’t just about numbers. Today, I had to stand in a room full of humans and wolves alike, and remind them why my company was at the top.I rubbed my eyes, closed the laptop, and glanced at the time on my phone. 8:45 a.m. Damn. I needed to move.I pushed the chair back and headed to the bathroom. The hot shower hit my skin, washing off the fatigue. My mind, though, kept drifting to Venus. She had wanted to come with me, but this trip wasn't a romantic one. And I didn't want anything or anyone to make me drag my feet.By the time I stepped out, steam curling behind me, I was already shifting into my Alpha mask. No distractions. No emotio

CHAPTER 124: VENUS AND JENNA GETTING ROBBED VENUS :I went for a run this morning and when I came back, I needed a bath badly. I took off my clothes and went straight to the bathroom. I filled the bathtub with warm water and soaked myself in it for a few minutes. Then I wanted to wash up but when I reached for my body wash gel, I frowned. “Oh my goodness!” I muttered under my breath. The bottle was almost empty. I squeezed it hard, and a small blob came out. I sighed.“How did I forget to buy this yesterday?” I muttered to myself, using the last of the gel to wash my body. After my bath, I wrapped myself in a towel and stood before the mirror, combing my hair slowly. My mind kept going back to Maxim. He had only left yesterday, and already I felt like something was missing. When I finished dressing up, I picked up my phone and dialed Jenna. She picked up after two rings.“Good morning, Luna,” she said cheerfully.“Morning, Jenna. Can you get ready? Let’s go to the market. I need t
