CHAPTER 54: WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT OUR FUTURE

VENUS:

I walked into the library and saw Maxine sitting behind the large oak desk at the far end of the room. I was glad he was fully recovered.

“Good morning, alpha,” I greeted with a bow after taking a deep breath.

God help me, he looked devastatingly handsome. His shirt was slightly unbuttoned at the collar, sleeves rolled to his elbows, revealing veins and taut muscles that I shouldn’t have noticed but did.

His hair looked freshly washed, curling slightly at the ends, and the light stubble on his jaw only added to his rugged charm.

I stood there like a statue, probably looking like a blushing fool. Who would blame me? He looked like he had been reborn.

His lips curled into a smirk. "If you're done admiring me, Venus, kindly sit. We need to talk about our future."

I blinked and shook my head quickly, making my way to the chair across from him, my cheeks blushing profusely. "I wasn't admiring you."
