HELENA’S POV I didn’t flinch or feel afraid in the dark room even though the squeaking noises of my friends keeping me company on the cold floor was becoming annoying and disrupting my thoughts. I stood calm and collected in the prison cell while waiting for the decision of both the elders and the Alpha himself. The Elder of the seventh tribe got his face scratched by an angry Draco and was rushed to the infirmary where he would be treated, but he kept yelling at everyone not to touch him. The anger about his plans going down the drain and also being dropped by the other elders who didn’t come to his help was eating him up and no one needed to tell him that he had gotten on the bad side of Alpha Draco. “Why would you even do such a stupid thing? Helena resumed her work at the clinic the next day without hesitation and everyone couldn’t hide their gladness that she was still ready to treat them even after the mess that had happened. An old woman whose grandson was part of those being treated staggered forward with a packed box of apples in her hands. “Thank you for not giving up on us. I know how hard it must have been but you still came back. This is my little gratitude since I have no money to pay for the bills” the poor woman stated, her eyes filled with gratitude. She was not comfortable with the gift since she trusted no one and turned it down immediately. “You don’t need to pay for the treatment because the pack has covered all expenses. That night, Helena woke up as planned and tapped Secretary Han, who was fast asleep gently. With a whisper, she notified her “It’s time” and Secretary Han dropped off the bed without hesitation. They tiptoed down the hallway to the extreme end of the second block where the library was situated. Streams of guards were there waiting at their positions without moving, their weapons in their hands, as if they were ready to devour anyone who trespasses. “Why are they guarding the library heavily? Is there something we shouldn’t see in there?” Helena muttered in disappointment. “What are you here for though? You can just get a pass if you want to check anything in the library” Secretary Han remarked from behind, rubbing the sleep off her droopy eyes before trying to move forward, but she only kicked a trash can lying by the side, sending it flying with a crashing sound afterwards. HELENA’S POV I couldn’t fathom the sudden change in Madam Jean’s body all of a sudden after the intake of the medicinal tea that was brought in to her a few minutes ago. My scream of her name was so loud that it caught the attention of everyone in the brothel. Everyone rushed into the room to see what was happening and met the lifeless body of Madam Jean on my lap, her mouth smeared with the blood she coughed out of her mouth. “What is going on? Why is she like this?” one of the maids questioned, running to my side. Before I could answer the question, the head maid rushed in, sweating frantically as she ran to my side. “I think she has been attacked! The maid in charge of her medicine has been murdered in the changing room” announced the head maid, to everyone’s surprise. The marriage talk did affected me more than I thought it would. I never knew I would be that jealous of Draco getting married to another lady. The instruction he gave Beta Gray made my heart raced hard, I wanted to counter why he would be getting married to another person even when he has a queen in the pack but I didn’t want to make myself a laughing stock. “Son of a bitch!” tears almost choked me as I walked down the corridor of his quarters aggressively. Even till the next day, I wasn’t feeling too good. Most of the time they were talking at the meeting about when to fix, I was lost. “Are you even listening to me? I was dropped off in my quarters alongside Han and my baby by Draco’s guard and as soon as I stepped down, I saw Amy walking into the palace. Since I was never interested in her, I just walked into my quarters without giving her any second glance, but I didn’t fail to see the guardians positioned at the door. “He’s really going far. How can you not be treated before he sends you to your room?” Han protested, but I only kept quiet since my head was so blank. The pain of my wound was not even getting to me, thanks to the boiling anger in me. Draco made sure to mock me in front of his people and all I was thinking of was how to return the gesture to him in multiple folds. “Should we just give all of this up and leave for the house? The following day, the wedding did happen, but I was not concerned about anything that was happening at the ceremony. I had left the palace for the clinic as early as possible and almost worked myself to death that day. I was treating every single patient by myself and refused the help from the other nurses and doctors, made rounds by myself and even forgot that I hadn’t taken anything all day. Han stood back at the palace to cook my meal and brought it for me but it was left on the table untouched for hours until she came around again, nagging me to eat this time. My back bone cranked as I tried sitting down, making me wince in pain. I never took a break nor sat down all day as was expected.
