Chapter 1. Introduction, the banishing of the first seer

"You see what am talking about? For some time now he’s been behaving like a mad man, often he’ll scratch his beard and lost in his thoughts, or do that, am losing it, Jared, what do you think we should do," a worried voice of Mrs. Jumma was heard

"I think its best if we send him to a mental hospital, the dreams are getting worse each day, soon we will lose him,'' Jared suggested

Jumma sitting alone, he seemed to be lost in his thoughts, his wife Watching him from far and his friend, ‘something is really bothering him, but how can we convince him to tell us what it is, ever since he came up with that story of us not raising our child, he’s been behaving weird, as they part ways, she suggested,

"okay it is time you go find help from our other friends, i will go get a cart to take him to the specialist." Jared, walked away

Before Rina could go far Jumma stopped her

"Madam Jumma, where do you think you’re going? I can smell your thoughts from here you know," Jumma disrupted her journey.

"I’m leaving am going to the palace I need to stop the council of elders," Jumma pushed her away

Rina quickly stood in front of him and tried to stop him,

"my husband please don’t do anything foolish; our child needs you; I need you" she cried her heart out

In an attempt to try to stop him, Jumma pushed Rina and fell down on a hard object, she hit her head and sadly this led to her death, their daughter watching from a distance saw everything, she run towards her mother tried to wake her up but it was too late,

'She was interfering in my work, Jumma thought,' without any remorse he walked past her, the pile of blood didn’t move him either, it was bound to happen. He had foreseen the death of his wife. He moved close to his child, held her hand and looked straight to her eyes, gently he spoke with a clear voice, trying hard to hide his sorrows, it was not the time for him to be weak, he had a duty to fulfill to the kingdom. He cleared his throat.

‘My girl, I’m sorry you had to see this, this is part of our life, now please go, run and never look back, go somewhere no one will know about you. I have to fulfill my duty as a seer, he emphasized on the word seer, ‘we are seers it’s our duty to protect our lands, someday you’ll learn to forgive me for killing your mother, she was my guardian, her duty was to protect me, she died saving my life. She took my bullet,’ he explained to her, with so much pain in his eyes, he send his child away

She was scared, she didn’t want to contradict his words, a voice inside told her to run for her life, and the other told her to stay and give her mother a proper burial.

A three-year-old; now compelled to make life decisions, she was forced to mature at a very tender age.

Her father walked towards her, holding a spear ready to strike, he needed to scare her, that was the only option for him to get rid of her easily and without hurting her

She stood still. Not scared of him, she closed her eyes and waited for her death. With an angry look, he was ready to strike. Suddenly, someone grabbed her and pulled her away, she took off with her, the only thing that could save them was their feet, to run as fast as they could,

They took a rest into nearby kingdom, the little girl had passed out, she was exhausted with all the running.

Nana, the old lady speculated around, she went to look for a certain medicine to help bring back the little girl,

a fair skin, a slender woman with eyes shining as bright as the moon, walked close to nana, she was exhausted from running, she was breathing her last breath.

A soft voice called out for help as she collapsed down, ‘help, help, save my son please,’ nana quickly moved close to gasp her words.

‘Please take my son and save his life, name him Joel, he will be of great help in

…these three kingdoms in future, he holds the blood of the greatest wiz..,’ her voice faded away, she paused and asked for water.

As she left, a voice of the little girl called out for help, her cry asked for help, nana was caught in between saving the woman or the little girl.

She hurriedly went to get the girl before finding water for the woman. Upon her return she found the woman already dead, she took the infant in her arms, and walked away, she was far from home, with two strangers who now completely depended on her. It was a long day for her, she was an old barren woman, she had no experience of taking care of children, she did know what to give or say when they start crying.

I have to give her a name, nana thought. I have always wanted to name my kid Regina; I think this suit her more. Days passed by, months went by the kids got along well, the only family they knew was their godmother nana. Joel knew Regina as her older sister. Nana tried hard to hide the truth from them, she knew it will break them.

Joel’s mother words kept disturbing nana, she wanted to know his origin. At least Regina, Nana knew who she was. She would leave in the middle of the night to go look for answers in the nearby villages, she hoped to find someone who knew about Joel.

years later the two children had now grown up, they loved listening to their Nana’s stories

two children seated in a shaggy kitchen with an old woman listening to her stories.

Joel was the naughty one, he whispered something to his grandmother, the old lady closely watched Regina, the quiet and intelligent one, she was lost in her thoughts, nana wondered what she was thinking about, a young girl like that?

This definitely is not a thought it’s more of a vision I think,

‘grandmaaa’, a bored voice of Joel called her, ‘why not do what I told you she seemed bored and too silent make her speak please I need my sister to be active’.

Okay here I go kid hope this will awaken her from her dream,

‘Regina, Regina, Regina,’ Joel called her

‘I think I need to pinch her’ stretching out his hands ready to do his thing

A soft voice called out on him” don’t even think about it, I can read your mind even in my sleep you know, and Nana please not the same old story today”

You have to hear it, it’s your fault we’re bored here trying to snag your attention, so sit properly it’s a long story today and a very real one this time, it Happened few years ago”

Regina trying hard to convince her grandmother not to tell the story but she didn’t succeed

“ my kids back then there was a peaceful kingdom, which had a lot of talented people but sadly, an old man got banished from his homeland a seer, he foresaw the coming fight and saw many people die because of the wrong choices a king was about to make, he went to the palace and begged to see the king in order to warn him’ his guardsmen refused to let him in, but after along persistence he was allowed in and found the council of elders discussing the matter, he warned them and told them not to push through with the plan, because innocent lives were going to be lost and because of this there is going to be a heavy curse upon the lands, one of the elder’s ordered for him to be beaten up for bringing bad news to the palace”

‘And then what?’ Regina was curious to know

Aha I see someone is in the mood for a story today, Joel teased her,

‘Well kids should I continue or let you argue’, nana interrupted. oh no continue, please, this is a nice story I want to know the ending. Regina emphasized

“The royal guards beat him up and chased him away, and that was not enough the king ordered for him to be killed by stones,’

‘Ah so sad the world is a cruel world they didn’t even spare him, am sleepy am going to make the bed’ Regina was pissed she wanted to leave, but her grandmother continued. she stopped to hear the next part.

“But his friend one of the guardsmen helped him escape to a forbidden land at night, in the morning when they went to get him, they found him already gone, his friend told the king that he saw him running towards the forbidden forest, leaving his family a wife and a son, the king uplifted his punishment knowing that he couldn’t survive in a wild forest, he went through with his plans,”

So, grandma what was his plans, Joel was curious
