Matthew left the room very early the next morning before his wife could wake up. He didn't dare to look at her or even to bring up the matter they left unsettled last night, so he left the room while she was sleeping.
He walked around the large grounds of the hotel without a specific location in mind, he just decided that he needed some peace of mind and time alone to think. Not being able to sleep properly last night was going to play a role in his mood.
