The great hall suddenly erupted the moment Aria stepped inside.

Music filled the room, and conversations stopped as every guest turned toward her. Eyes followed her as she walked beside Deucalion.

Aria lifted her chin.

This was what she had always dreamed of. To be at the center of attention. Deucalion reached for her hand and guided her toward the seat beside his.

“Careful,” he whispered. “Take your time.”

“I am fine,” she replied with a smile.

“I know. I still want to be careful.”

“My lord?”Deucalion finally blinked and turned towards the warrior sitting opposite him.The man straightened slightly.“I have called you several times, my lord. Is something troubling you?”Deucalion looked at him for a moment before turning his attention towards the carriage window.“Why do you ask?”“You have been unusually quiet since we left the settlement. Even when I spoke to you about our journey, you didn’t seem to hear me.”“I’m fine.”The warrior hesitated. “Forgive me for asking, but you don’t seem fine.”Deucalion gave no response. The warrior understood that his Alpha wasn’t ready to speak, so he settled back into his seat. However, Deucalion’s mind remained occupied. He had a son.A son he had never known existed for more than six years. The thought still felt strange whenever he considered it. Somewhere beyond the walls of Blackridge, he had a child who had grown up without knowing his father. A boy who had learned to protect his mother without anyone teaching him th

  • THE SPARE LUNA   Chapter 157 — THE QUESTION HE SHOULDN'T HAVE ASKED

“What?”Lucius seemed to realize how shocking his question sounded. He straightened in his chair, looking at me as though he was searching for the right words.“Malia, I didn’t mean it the way you understood it.”“Then what did you mean?”He rubbed his palms together before answering.“I only want you to be safe. You’ve been worrying so much since Deucalion appeared. I can see how much this whole situation is affecting you, and I don’t want you to keep living like this.”I stared at him.“So your solution is for me to give Derek to Blackridge?”“No. That’s not what I’m saying.”“Then what are you saying, Lucius?”He opened his mouth, but I didn’t give him the chance to answer.“So I should leave my son behind for my peace of mind?”“Malia, please. Listen to me first.”“Listen to what? That I should hand over the child I’ve protected all these years because his father suddenly wants him?”Lucius lowered his eyes.I couldn’t believe he had said something like that. Of all the things I e

  • THE SPARE LUNA   Chapter 156 — THE NEWS THAT REACHED LUCIUS FAMILY

The news still travelled farther than anyone expected.By the time it reached Lucius’s family, the story had already changed in several ways. However, one detail remained the same wherever it was told. The mysterious boy who had defeated several Red Fang warriors was believed to carry the Blackridge bloodline.Inside a large mansion belonging to Lucius’s family, his father, the alpha sat behind a wooden table, listening to a messenger who had travelled from a neighbouring territory.“Repeat what you just said,” he ordered. The messenger bowed.“The boy who defeated the Red Fang warriors is believed to have Blackridge blood. Some wolves are saying he may be Deucalion’s son.”Lucius’s father’s expression changed slightly. “Deucalion’s son?”“Yes, my lord.”He leaned back in his chair, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. For years, the Blackridge family had been desperate for a strong heir. Deucalion and Damien were their only sons, and the continuation of their powerful bloodline had become

  • THE SPARE LUNA   Chapter 155 — A RUMOR THAT TRAVELED TOO FAST

The news did not remain within Garrick's settlement for long.It began with a few travellers who had heard about the mysterious boy who defeated several Red Fang warriors. At first, the story sounded unbelievable. A child defeating grown warriors was already difficult to accept, but the details surrounding his strength had made many wolves curious. Now, another piece of information has been added to the story. The boy carried Blackridge blood. That single detail changed everything. In one territory, a group of warriors gathered around a fire, discussing the news they had received from a passing traveller.“Did you hear what they are saying about that boy?” one of them asked.“The child who defeated Red Fang?”“Yes. They say he carries the Blackridge bloodline.”Another warrior frowned. “Are you sure? That is a serious claim.”“That's what the travellers are saying. Apparently, Deucalion himself encountered the boy and the boy did not back down?”“Deucalion?”The warrior nodded. “Then

  • THE SPARE LUNA   Chapter 154 — SIX YEARS APART

I was still sitting beside Derek when the door suddenly opened. I turned towards it, expecting someone from the settlement to walk in. But the moment I saw who stood at the entrance, I froze. “Lucius?” He smiled. “Hello, Malia.” For a second, I couldn’t believe my eyes. It had been six years since I last saw him, yet there he was, standing in front of us as though he had never been away. “Lucius!” Lydia exclaimed. Mara also stood up, her face lighting up with excitement. Before anyone could say another word, Derek jumped off his seat. “Uncle Lucius!” He ran straight towards him, and Lucius immediately bent down to catch him in his arms. “There is my little man!” Lucius laughed, lifting him slightly. Derek wrapped his arms around his neck. “I missed you!” Lucius held him closer, smiling as he rubbed his back. “I missed you too, little one. More than you know.” I watched them with a warmth spreading through my chest. Lucius had once lived with us for over a year. During tha

  • THE SPARE LUNA   Chapter 153 — THE PAST SHE NEVER WANTED TO REMEMBER

I turned away from the forest path and slowly walked back inside the settlement. Deucalion was gone, but his presence still lingered in my thoughts. I could almost hear his voice asking me to return to Blackridge, as though he had every right to make that decision for me. I hated how easily one encounter had brought back memories I had spent years trying to bury. “Malia.” I looked up and saw Garrick approaching. “Are you alright?” “I’m fine,” I answered. He studied my face. “You don’t look fine.” I forced a small smile. “I just need some time to think.” Garrick nodded. “You know you can talk to me if you need anything.” “I know. Thank you.” He didn’t press me further. I continued towards the house, but my thoughts had already returned to Blackridge. I remembered how things had been when I lived there. Deucalion had never made me feel like I was the woman he truly wanted. Even after our bond was established, Aria always seemed to come first. Whenever there was a disagreeme
