I was preparing myself for the worst, but after a few minutes of staying there and with her busy scanning a book while talking with Iris, my chest began to calm down. But I still kept my guard up. I listened as Meridian taught her about manas and energies and where she could channel them. Then, she began the crash course on chants and magic. While Iris listened and watched intently as Meridian performed simple magic before her, I grabbed the piece of paper and pen that I saw nearby and wrote down what I heard and observed.I didn’t say Iris was dumb or that she wouldn’t remember what Meridian was teaching her, but with the surprised expression on her face, I wasn’t even sure if everything had sunk in.
