Mile’s POV

I’m not sure if I achieved anything at work today but I managed to keep my mind away from the harmful thoughts plaguing me.

I had the messenger deliver me six cups of coffee at intervals. I skipped lunch, turned down Henry’s offer for a report, and managed to sit through a meeting with the new accountant.

It’s past 4 pm according to my watch. I’m sure Sam was already at the parking lot waiting for me so I stood up and grabbed my suitcase.

I was about to dash out of the office when my phone buzzed. I immediately swiped and read through the message.

My eyes widened.

It was a text from Lily. The first reply I was getting from her after days of texting her.

‘Dinner today?’

I dropped the suitcase and immediately texted her back. I told her I had just closed from work and could meet her anywhere she wanted if she was willing to head out right now.

She dropped an address.

I sighed and slipped the phone inside my jacket. Perhaps, a getaway with her could give me some time off from

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    ROOM 409

Mile’s POVThe receptionist took down all the necessary details and finally handed over the key to the executive suite to Grayham. He turned around.I heaved a sigh of relief and began following him toward the hallway. The room number was 409 and it was the first room on the second floor by the right as the receptionist said.We made it to the door. Grayham slipped the key and unlocked the room. He was the first to walk in then I followed. While Grayham marched to the bedroom, I stood in the center of the living room to look around. I think a small family can call this place home because the living room is spacious enough. Two sofas separated by a glass table were facing each other. A Persian rug covered the floor and not only was the room airy, it smelled of lavender. There was a mini refrigerator, a microwave, and a tiny bookshelf in the corner.“The bed is big enough for two.” I heard Grayham say.I moved to the bedroom and saw him sprawled on the king-size bed. The bedroom was big

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    LOOKING FOR A ROOM

Grayham’s POVWe landed at the New York International Airport past 10am. Miles and I made it through several security checks and finally walked out with our luggage bags.I turned to Miles. “First time in New York?”He nodded repeatedly. It was easy to tell that it was his first time because his eyes wouldn’t stop roaming around.“Give me the phone,” I said.He slipped his hand inside his jacket and pulled out the phone. I decided to book a ride to Boston. While my fingers were running around the phone keypad, I was speaking to Miles.“You made me sit in economy class. Now I have to redeem myself. We’re going to a five-star hotel once we get to Boston.”I handed the phone back to him and cocked my head toward the airport exit. “Let’s go. I just booked a ride. The driver should be there in a couple of minutes.I started walking and Miles followed me. By the time we reached one of the exit gates, a black Camry was waiting for us.“That’s our ride,” I told Miles.Since I booked for execu

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    FIRST TIME FLYING

Mile’s POV“And how long would this retreat last?” Grayham’s Granpa demanded as we swerved down the road home.I crossed my legs. “Two days at most,” I said and cleared my throat loudly. While the gala was ongoing, Nathan texted me that he was able to communicate with the folklore expert. The man was expecting Grayham and me at his residence by tomorrow or the day after.Since he was based in Boston, Grayham and I would have to leave the city first thing tomorrow morning so we could meet up with him.I needed an excuse to get away from home and coming up with one was easy. I just told Graham’s Granpa that I would be traveling for a business retreat in Boston, New York City.“Best of luck!” He said and stifled a yawn with the back of his palm.I turned to Lily and noticed that she was curled up in her seat, fast asleep. I think she had a good time today even though she mostly stayed behind me. I’m sure when I bring her out a few more times, she’ll get used to the spotlight. Just like I

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    LET'S GO, SIS

Mile’s POVWe stepped out of the car and left the parking lot. She was walking right beside me. When we got to the entrance, I turned to her.“Are you ready?”She nodded repeatedly.I pushed the door open, exposing the grand living room. He was in the dining, having lunch when we walked into the living room.“Hey, old man.” I smiled and started walking toward him.He dropped his bowl of soup and waved at me then he continued eating.“I’d like you to meet someone,” I said and reached him.He immediately shoved his bowl to the side and darted his gaze toward the door. When he saw her, his eyes widened and he turned to me in awe.“My God, Grayham!” He said and quickly got to his feet. With a smile, Lily charged toward him.“I was thinking if she could come with us to the gala, tonight.”“Of course.” He said and opened his arms. “Come give your Granpa a hug.”Lily hurried toward him and then buried herself in his arms. He began to pat her on the back. I sighed and then folded my arms acro

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    THE INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST

Mile’s POVThe car swerved down the road as Sam drove toward the route leading to the company. It was a new day, another day to play businessman. We reached the company lane and Sam was about to take a sharp turn when a man suddenly appeared out of nowhere.“Watch it!” I cried out and immediately sat up.Sam managed to pull the brakes and the man passed without sustaining a scratch but then, he wasn’t crossing the street like I assumed. He was making his way toward the car.I pulled down the reflectors and wondered what kind of man would risk his life just to meet me.A tall man with blonde hair suddenly appeared on my side.“Hello!” He flashed a smile and took off his glasses.“Hi.” I cleared my throat loudly and rolled my eyes around the strange man. “You almost got killed,” I said. Was he here to thank me?He smiled.I turned to Sam. “Let’s go.”“Can you spare a moment?” The man said. “I’d like to talk to you.”I arched a brow and studied him more carefully. He practically looked h

I wasn’t bothered by the fact that he was having fun. He should wait to get his body back then he can go ahead and have all the fun in the world.I walked into the busy clubhouse and couldn’t keep my eyes on a particular subject. It was a full house tonight as people danced, drank, and flirted. The dance floor was packed with sweaty bodies Others lingered around the bar stands where some were lurking around in the corners, making out.I made my way through the crowd and finally reached the bar stand.
