PART ONE: THE LOVE OF A MOTHER

PART ONE: THE LOVE OF A MOTHER

CHAPTER FIVE

In the full darkness of the day, in the full darkness of the hearts of the ones who haven't tasted the purest feelings, in the darkest corner of their hearts just the same hole which couldn't be filled with anything but power, a man walked into the company with around four or even five bodyguards behind him.

The way he walked, the serious gesture in his face, the no given smile and those sunglasses which covered his eyes full of anger, full of power. Stefan Muriel had arrived to the company that one day was run by another Muriel. It was a pitty he had to end in such a way.

As he continued walking through the hallways of the company all women and men there bowed their heads a little. He was the big man in that company. That was something he liked to feel, that power running through his veins.

As soon as as he arrived to the hallway that lead to his office, the most luxurious office there and the one which couldn't belong to anyone else but the president, the bodyguards left him there.

His secretary stood up as soon as she was aware of his presence.

“Mr. Muriel, the shareholders meeting is taken place” the woman said.

“Thank you” Stefan Muriel replied after taking off his sunglasses.

The moment everyone in that meeting room was waiting for had arrived. The shareholders had waited too long to see Mr. Muriel and let things to lead to what they were expecting from that meeting. Success, of course.

Taking a deep breath not because Stefan felt nervous or something but because of his thirst of power and all the eager for seeing how the eyes of those men land on him, Stefan Muriel smiled before the big door opened in front of his eyes.

As he had said before, the eyes of those men there landed on him. The truth was, as much as they didn't like to wait until Mr. Muriel had mercy on them and decide to attend to the meetings, they had to fill themselves with patient. His companies depended on him whether they liked or not. It was a pitty Alexander Muriel had been killed.

How was it possible that no one knew about the change when it was too obvious?

Maybe it could be the face , the body, the voice what didn't change but, what about the look in his eyes? Stefan could take the place without letting anyone to know who he really was but the look in his eyes couldn't do so much for him.

“Dear Alexander Muriel! Glad to see you back!” one of the shareholders said.

In his new life Stefan had just been in two meetings as his twin brother Alexander.

Stefan smiled. This was going to be his big moment. If no one notice who he really was, he could go ahead with his plans.

“It's good to see you all here,” Stefan said walking to the president chair. The chair his twin brother should've been using.

At the moment Stefan took his place, one of the shareholders stood up.

“I'm listening, Mr. Aguilar.” Stefan Muriel said not making eye contact.

”Well, I would just like to ask for a minute of silence for the pain our dear president is going through at this moment. We are really sorry for the lost of your younger brother.” The same man said.

Stefan couldn't help but smile in his inner. All seemed to be exactly as he had planned. No one would know he wasn't Alexander but Stefan.

Stefan gave a sad smile or at least, that was what everyone could see.

“Don't be sorry,” Stefan said gently. “It has been over two months since my dear brother passed away. Don't be sorry for him, be sorry for us, the battle is still here. Well, I think it's enough of condolences, let's get back to work.”

If only those men could know he wasn't Alexander. If only those men could know in the tragedy Stefan didn't die but Alexander. A world full of lies had been born.

Two months had happened since the tragedy took place, in those two months all Stefan could do was thinking about the best way to take everything at once without having to go through the count of votes of the shareholders where nothing was sure for him. As soon as the shareholders knew Alexander had died, the sons of the majority shareholders would try to take the place Alexander had left. Stefan couldn't let fate to do that, he had to offer his help, there was no best way than taking the position as he was Alexander.

If there was one day when he claimed to his brother why none of the shareholders knew about the existence of the twin brother, now he couldn't be any more grateful. For the shareholders there was no man with the same physical appearance as Alexander Muriel.

“Why don't we continue with the meeting?” Stefan Muriel asked with a smile in his face. He just wanted to come across as the innocent and poor man whose life was a constant battle.

In his inner Stefan couldn't stop laughing. He had won. He had passed the acid test.

But, what about that one man who didn't say a word? There was something strange in him, there was something strange in the look of his eyes. All of a sudden, Alexander Muriel didn't look like Alexander Muriel.

But, who was he? He was nothing more and nothing less than the man who wanted to take revenge of the person who stole everything from him, kicking out as the most successful company. His name? Alfonso Luriet.

In the full darkness of the night, in the full darkness of their hearts, just the resentment of those who don't know anything else but ambitious, Stefan Muriel had arrived into that place where someone special had waited for him for so long.

“My dear friend!" Expressed the same man. “Finally, you're here!" Said a man wearing a black suit, extending his hands welcoming Stefan.

Stefan smiled and in the same way as Mr. Mendoza, he extended his arms.

“What is done... is done!”

And then, both men laughed as there was no new morning.

There was just one man in the world who knew the truth about the murder of Alexander Muriel. There was only one person in the world could kill off Stefan Muriel and that was Enrique Mendoza.
