2 AM. Darman’s house was pitch black.

He’d been locking himself in since earlier. Three locks on the door. The windows boarded up with plywood.

His hands were shaking, gripping a machete.

"Pak... open up..."

A voice from outside. Low.

Darman pissed himself. "Who the hell?!"

"Surya’s kid," the heavy voice answered. Draven.

_Bam_ The door got smashed in.

Draven walked in. His black shirt still stained with Mbah Joyo’s blood.

Behind him, Alina.

Darman collapsed to the floor. "Please... please... I was the one who told them to burn it... I was the one who riled up the villagers..."

"We know," Draven said flatly. "Ten years ago you were screaming the loudest: 'Burn the house! Take their shit!'"

"My mom died in the forest because of you," Draven whispered.

Alina stepped forward. "And your son raped me."

Darman started sobbing. "Raka... it was Raka who did it..."

"Like father, like son," Alina said. The knife was already at Darman’s throat.

One move. Done.

Darman dropped. Eyes wide open.

Draven looked at Alina. "One more."

Alina nodded. "Raka."

They walked out. Leaving Darman’s corpse and an empty house behind.

---

At Raka’s house, the whispers got louder:

_"Alina’s coming for you... revenge..."_

03:20 AM*

Raka’s house was dark. But the kerosene lamps were all lit. From the living room to the kitchen.

Raka sat on the floor. His back pressed against the door. His father’s heirloom Karangasem machete lay on his lap. His hands were sweating so much the handle felt slippery.

Since dusk, the whispers hadn’t stopped.

_“Alina is coming for you... Alina is coming for you...”_

At first it was soft. Now it was like 10 people whispering together in his ears.

“SHUT UP!” Raka yelled. He threw a clay water jug at the wall. It shattered.

But the whispers just laughed.

He remembered Darman’s face from 6 hours ago. Eyes wide open. His neck...

Raka vomited. It was only stomach acid. He hadn’t eaten anything since earlier.

3 AM.

_Knock... knock... knock..._

There was a knocking sound on the front door. Soft. Three times.

Raka held his breath.

“...Who’s there?” His voice was hoarse.

No answer. Only the sound of heavy breathing from outside.

Then a woman’s voice, very soft: “Raka.”

Raka’s heart dropped. That was Alina’s voice.

He immediately stood up. Unlocked the bolt on the back window. He didn’t care about wearing sandals. He just needed to run.

In his mind there was only one place: _The Eastern Forest_.

The villagers said not to go there at night. There was a pack of wolves. 3 people had gone missing there in the last 5 years.

But right now, wolves were safer than Alina.

He pedaled his old bicycle as hard as he could. Raka didn’t look back.

From far behind, a small torchlight was following him. From a distance. Slow. Not in a hurry. Like a cat playing with a mouse.

That was Alina’s torch.

  • THE TIGER WOMAN   A LATTER FROM HELL -POV RAKA

The Skull Cave is fucking freezing. Not from the wind. But from the ground. From the stones that have drunk too much blood. From the pond in the middle with black water. At the bottom there’s a chest. It’s full of powder. One spark and this whole place blows. Including me.I’m the leader now. Of whatever’s left of the Wolves. Guiding the other beasts to join us. Foxes. Boars. Whatever’s desperate enough. There’s a leather map in front of me. Behind me, 7 people. The last Wolves who still follow me. Hired guns. Cowards. Just like me.It’s been 5 days since I sent Sera to poison the eastern river of the Tigers.“No word from Sera yet, Sir,” Garon said. His iron hand _clank clank_ every time he moved.I threw my cup at the wall. _Crash_.“Coward! He’s probably dead. Caught!”“Not necessarily, Sir,” someone else said. “Maybe he’s waiting for night.”I went quiet. My fingers drummed on the hilt of my knife.Draven.That name is poison.5 days ago I ran from the battlefield. Ran when I saw

  • THE TIGER WOMAN   THE CAGE AND THE BLOOD LETTER -POV DRAVEN

This damn underground cage. Damp. Cold. And the smell... the smell of dried blood, wet dirt, and the smell of people who’ve already given up. Sera was hanging. Both wrists chained up high, so only the tips of his feet touched the ground. The other three were in the corner. Their muzzles gagged with leather so they couldn’t scream or bite their own tongues. Six hours. Six hours I’d been sitting here, listening to the rain outside that just wouldn’t quit. The door creaked open. Bayu walked in. The torch in his hand was shaking. His face was still wrapped in bandages. There were brown stains on his cheek. "The others talked, Your Majesty," he said. His breath was heavy. "The fox. Coward. He cracked first. Said their base is at Skull Cave. Northwest. A day’s walk from here." I nodded. My throat was dry. "And Sera?" Bayu shook his head. "Stone. Hasn’t said a word. Just keeps grinning." Alina had been beside me the whole time. Not sitting. Not leaning. Her eyes never left Sera for

  • THE TIGER WOMAN   POISON IN THE River - DRAVEN POV

The smell of blood was still stuck in my nose.It had been 5 days since that war. 5 days since Raka ran. The tiger den was quiet. Too quiet.I sat on a flat rock in front of the main tent. In my hand was a report from Bayu. Scratches on a piece of bark. `3 buried. 4 seriously wounded stable. Water in the eastern river tastes strange.`Strange.Alina came out of the tent. Her steps were still limping, but her back was straight again. Her face was pale. The fever only broke last night. "What does it say?" she asked. Her voice was still hoarse."The water in the eastern river tastes bitter," I answered. I crumpled the bark in my hand. "The healer said 2 tiger cubs threw up after drinking this morning."Alina tensed immediately. "Poison.""I was thinking the same."Silence. Only the sound of wind through the leaves."This is Raka’s doing," Alina whispered. Her eyes lit up. "Only 5 days as king, and he’s already playing dirty."I stood up. My ribs still hurt if I moved too fast. But

  • THE TIGER WOMAN   THE NEW KING-RAKA'S POV

The rain wouldn’t stop.I ran. Didn’t look back.Behind me there were only corpses. The King’s corpse. The pack’s corpses. The corpse of my own pride.Mud splattered on my face with every step. Thorns tore at my calves until they bled. But I couldn’t stop. Stopping meant dying. Same as them."RAKA!"The Wolf King’s last roar still echoed in my head, so loud it hurt my eardrums. "TRAITOR!"Coward. Yeah, I’m a coward. But a coward who’s still breathing.I don’t know how long. Felt like a whole day. Lungs burning, legs shaking, breath about to give out. Finally my body gave out too. I collapsed under a huge tree with roots sticking out like claws. Panting. There was blood on my palms. Didn’t know whose. From far away, a howl. Long. Dragging.A mourning howl. It meant their king was dead.I laughed instead. My voice cracked. "Safe travels, my Lord," I muttered into the dark. "Thanks for teaching me one thing."How to survive. By being the most ruthless. That night I didn’t close my eyes a

  • THE TIGER WOMAN   THE RACINE OF blood - draven pov

Dawn hadn't come yet. There was only darkness.Thick darkness. The kind that made my eyes ache from forcing them to stay open.I stood at the edge of the ravine. Wind rose from below, carrying the smell of wet dirt and... wolves.A lot of them.Behind me, 12 tiger warriors crouched behind rocks. Weapons in hand. Holding their breath.Next to me, Alina. She wasn’t wearing armor. Just a plain black shirt, cloth pants, and a dagger at her waist.I’d changed the bandage on her shoulder 2 hours ago. White. Tight. But I knew the wound underneath was still throbbing with every breath she took."Ready?" I whispered. She didn’t look at me. Her eyes were locked straight ahead, into the dark forest."Been ready for 3 days," she answered. Her voice was cold. No tremor.Bayu was on my left. He held up 3 fingers. The signal. 3 more minutes.I closed my eyes. Just once. To gather everything. The rage. The pain. The emptiness of the last 3 nights. When I opened them again, there was only calculation

  • THE TIGER WOMAN   BLOOD FOR BLOOD-draven'pov

The rain wouldn’t stop. Not the normal kind. This was the kind of rain that crawled into your bones, turned the earth to mud, and made the smell of blood ten times worse.I was perched on the highest branch by the river. Twenty meters up. From here I could see everything. The wind carried the stench up to me. A stench that had been stuck in my nose for three nights straight.Three nights. Three nights since I’d slept more than ten minutes at a time. Three nights since I wrapped the last bandage around Alina’s shoulder. Three nights since I watched her lie there, biting back pain, while I bit my own lip so hard I tasted iron just to keep from screaming. My eyes burned. My head felt heavy. But one second of carelessness and we were all dead.Below, by the riverbank, were four young wolves. You could see their ribs. Their fur was matted. Their eyes were dull. These weren’t warriors. These were kids forced to hunt because the pack was already starving.Bait. Perfect bait.My
