Chapter Twenty-five

Diana's pov.

I continued to walk with no destination in mind, I wiped the hot angry tears from my cheeks, why was even affected by this? This has been my life for the past thirteen years, it shouldn't be a big deal.

I felt a hand grab me by the wrist and pull me close to it, my head collided with a hard wall, and arms wrapped around me. I knew it was Daniel right away, his earth scent filled my nostrils, and he hugged me even tighter while I cried into his shirt.

There was complete silence between us until my soft whimpers came to a halt and all I did was hiccup every now and then.

“Are you okay?” He whispered. While I still hugged him, I didn't respond before he pulled me away and held me at arm's length.

He withdrew a handkerchief from his pocket and helped me to wipe the tears from my face before they dried up.
