CHAPTER 29 - QUESTIONS

-PHOEBE'S POV-

The room around me was different when my lazy eyes decided to open. Everything in the surroundings brought the awareness that I was not home. It was pretty classy and I liked the design. By using a dark navy blue color scheme, the architectural features generated a tranquil cave-like ambiance. Perhaps that was why I had fallen asleep.

The space had a luxury aspect equal to that of a high-end European hotel room thanks to the heavy velvet curtains; white thermal drapes merged with the ottoman bench at the foot of the bed made of linen fabric and with foam padded seats and wooden legs.

As much as I wanted to take in more of the room, my joints hurt as I shifted on the bed and my head pounded. Instinctively, my hand massaged my forehead.

My throat was dry and sore. Why is this happening to me? I cried inwardly. Going home and being in the familiarity of my own room would be better suited for my circumstances.
