33: BAD GIRL

MIRANDA’S POV

No one could see the dance floor. It was wall to wall of people dancing to the techno music. There was no room for any more people, but somehow when Nigel and I hit it the space magically appeared. The music was all nineteen nineties, but we were dancing like it was jive, twisting, turning, holding hands as we changed sides. We were all grins. We looked like idiots, and we didn’t care. Inside, I was happy, happy and more alive than I had ever been.

“OK, what did you put in Nigel’s drink?” I heard him ask Valko.

“Something I thought he could handle,” Valko chuckled. I grabbed a lock of Nigel’s long, blonde hair—well, my long, blonde hair.

“Me smell so nice,” I laughed, then hiccuped. “I love being inside you,” I stated and Nigel giggled nervously.

“Wait! Hold up! Did you two fuckkkk?” Valko squealed.

“No,” I slurred. “I’m into guys,” I hiccuped.

“Wait. Are you gay?” Roger settled under my arm. “Cause we can be gay together.”
