CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

Sophia's POV

I did not waste time. I knew Adrian would be tracking my phone, so I grabbed it along, entering the car quickly. My sunglasses protected me from the sun and it disguised me, just a bit.

The coffee shop was barely full now. “Hi,” I smiled at the Barista. “Can I have an iced chocolate matcha?”

“Coming up,” the young boy said. I went to the seat at the very back of the store with my drink and sat down.

I just had to wait for the perfect moment now.

Soon it came. The barista went to the back and the coffee shop was empty. I dropped my phone on the table, removing the SIM card.

My car keys were clutched in my hands and I walked outside, heading for 5th Avenue quickly. It would be a long walk, but it was better than Adrian tracking me there. I threw my keys and the SIM card into the dredge, satisfaction gleaming in my heart.

CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX: THE ARRIVALAdrian’s POVThe sun is rising. I drove all night without sleeping, and finally the sun rose. And as it did, the beach house came into my view.It was exactly the kind of place I expected my brother to pick. Isolated, yet not out of shape, blending well into the surrounding beach houses. Easily defendable, but discreet. It is barely 5 am. I wiped the sweat away from my face, a sick grin stretching across my face. My brother knew I was coming. I parked my car a quarter mile away, and pulled out my gun from the glove box.

CHAPTER THIRTY -FOUR:THE FBI RAIDAdrian’s POVI sipped the brandy out of the glass cup. My father would have slapped me before, if I had dared to touch his precious China, but tonight, he was in a very important meeting.“How long has he been in there,” I asked the butler. “Your father would be out to see you soon, Mr. Kane,” he replied back. “I'm the meanwhile, can I please request that you take a seat in the living room?”This was bullshit. "I threw the glass to the ground angrily. “Tell him I'm gone., and clean that shit up, punk,,x I hissed, walking out of the house.Suddenly, the entire house was flashing with blue and red lights. “Mr. Adrian Kane, you are under arrest for mob activities and drug trafficking. You have the right to remain silent as anything you do or say will be used against you in the court of law.”The fuck. “What the fuck are you idiots doing here?” I screamed at the FBI agents. One of them, a man holds out his gun to me, and I am tempted to pull out mine.Bu

  • THE WRONG TWIN BETWEEN MY THIGHS   CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE: THE SECOND ESCAPE Damien’s POVI opened the safe, bringing out the wads of cash I kept. Despite my protests, Sophia insisted on packing with me, and she moved slowly, throwing some clothes into the bag.“Are you strong enough to travel?” I asked her. She had been silent all these while, and I hated doing this to her.“Yes,” she said, throwing a gown into the suitcase. “I can do whatever I have to.”We had six hours before Richard reached out to my father. He had to confirm to be sure about our identities, and that window was the only one we had to escape. I led Sophia down the building’s service elevator. The cameras I couldn't hack were luckily not here, so I moved quickly, before someone could see us.Soon, we drove away from the place we called home for two months. I drove fast, using the darkness and the fact it was midnight so the roads would be empty to speed a little bit, driving faster than before. I kept on glancing at the rearview mirror, just in case

Tears threatened to fall down again, but I held them back. “Damien?”“I'm coming,” he finally replied. He pushed open the bathroom door and stuck his head inside. “Are you good, baby?”“No,” I croaked. “I'm bleeding.”Damien swore. “Let me see.”“I don't want you to see this,” I started crying. “How am I bleeding?”He took the bloody tissue from my hands and threw it into the toilet bowl. “When did you notice it?”I bit my lips. “Two days ago.”Damien’s eyes widened. “Why didn't you say anything?”“I didn't want you to scold me,” I replied, tugging the sweatpants over my legs. “Can we go see Doctor Martinez?”“Let me call her,” he replied, leaving the bathroom. I came outside to find him on his phone, talking in a low tone and nodding his head.Damien hung up the call. “We're leaving now,” he said, grabbing the car keys.I followed him downstairs in a hurry, and we drove to the clinic

Damien grew extra extra protective since I got pregnant, and I loved it.“Yeah, you're meant to take it thrice.”“Yes, I did,” I groaned.I satd down in the couch and he came to join me, spreading his hands across the back. “What do you think we should name it?”“You're already thinking about names?” He asked. I nodded. “Tiffany. If it's a girl, after my mother.”“Tiffany Kane,” he hummed. “I like it. What if it's a boy?”“Not Adrian
