CHAPTER 13 - THE EDGE OF THE ABYSS BY THE WOLF

“All right, there's no need for threats,” I said firmly to him. “I just need to run and jump, right? I'm a wolf.” I closed my eyes, immersing myself in the meditation that allowed me to connect with the new lupine form I had been granted.

“Take a deep breath,” the Alpha instructed me calmly. “When you opened your eyes, I wanted you to carefully survey the terrain in front of you. Then take a running start and jump with your hind legs when you reach the edge, keeping your front legs folded in the air.”

“And how did I land?” I asked, still with my eyes closed, my uncertainty palpable in my voice.

“Instinct!” He replied in a playful tone, causing me to widen my eyes in concern.

“Instinct? Is that your instruction?” I asked incredulously.

“Yes. You were an animal now—a wolf. Your instincts would tell you what to do. Visualize your jump and landing,” he insisted with conviction.
