Chapter 45 - Preparations
SKYLER'S POV
He then gets up and walks out the back door. I sigh. As much as I need him, I still can't seem to get past what he did. The trust I gave him knowing that he was an Alpha, that he had saved me from my father's punishments and showed me that there was more to life than chores and pain. I never expected to find my mate, but I also knew that if I ever did, then he would want to enjoy my body. I was just hoping that my mate would make love with me instead of just taking it.
I sigh again as I look out the door and see him shift and run off into the woods. I am no longer hungry and Alice is growling and pacing in my head. I turn inward,
"Alice, what's wrong?"
"YOU NEED TO TRUST HIM!!!"

SKYLER'S POV Once inside, I stand off to the side of the door and personally welcome everyone as they enter. It isn't long before some of the outside Alpha's start to arrive. After a while, I move from the door and over to one of the refreshment tables. I take a small glass of water as my stomach rolls a little. I put the glass down and jump a little as 2 arms wrap around me from behind. I smile and relax as I feel warmth and butterflies skim over my skin. Nathan then whispers into my ear, "Angel? ALPHA CHRISTOPHER'S POV I sit at my desk doing some paperwork when I look over and spot the last family photo I received from my sister-in-law. COLE'S POV I can't believe Alexander was right. Skyler isn't the shy little wolf that I saved from the abuse of her father. The years with Elijah and Nathan by her side have brought the Skyler, that should have been to the surface and she is shining in her Luna role. After my confrontation with Skyler about her celebration and she stormed out, I felt so stupid because she was right. ALPHA CHRISTOPHER I re-entered the Royal Blood Moon territory with permission as I was meeting with at least 2 out of the 3 Mason Alphas. I must find out exactly why the 3rd brother won't be there. ALPHA CHRISTOPHER I knock and enter the Mason Alpha office. I am surprised to see that all 3 Mason Alpha's are there. I was only expecting 2 of them. There was, however, a difference in what was their rank. Alpha Elijah seems to be the one at the top now as he sits at the desk with Alpha Nathan on his right and Alpha Cole on his left. Something massive must have happened to change the order of power amongst them. I approach the desk and bow slightly out of respect before saying, "Alpha's, thank you for welcoming me into your pack." "No problem... How can we help you?" "Is Skyler joining us?" "No!" I was a little disappointed at this news, as I was hoping to see her reaction to whatever we were talking about. "Now, my brother Alpha David Jackson, what happened to him?" "Just as I said, he was killed in the process of attacking a pack and trying to take their Luna."

ALEXANDER'S POV Cole has been spending a lot of time in the barracks and in the training fields. I watch him as he moves around the recruits and smile. It is something that he used to love doing, but in his position as oldest of his brothers, his Alpha duties always came before anything else. Since he has come back, I have noticed that he misses those duties as he hasn't been able to do them. He, however, has been really helpful around here with the recruit training and keeping the security patrols up to date and always changing. As I had said to him when he questioned me after I had rescued Skyler from her father, I didn't like what he did to her, but he is still one of my Alpha's. So when he approached me and said he had found one of the spies I have been looking for, I couldn't, not believe him. I had laughed to myself when he said he was going to get Skyler to cancel the New Moon celebration. She has done it every new moon for the past 3 years.

ALEXANDER'S POV Much to Skyler's disappointment, I ended up having to tell all 3 of them what happened as they wanted to know why there were guards and patrols so close to the Alpha house and I was not going to lie to them. She was right. They became even more protective of her, and I became her personal bodyguard. They even gave me one of the small guest rooms in the Alpha house, so I was there if needed. Not that it bothered me as I still feel like I am making up for allowing the rogues to get their filthy hands on her and take her back to her father. It has been a few days.
