Rafael’s private jet tore through the night sky, the hum of the engines doing nothing to silence the war raging in his chest. The moment the call came, the moment he heard Alessio’s wedding planning had officially begun, Rafael hadn’t even thought. He just left.

Damn the consequences.

He landed close to midnight, the cool night air doing nothing to ease the tightness in his throat. His driver was waiting, but Rafael waved him off. This wasn’t a night for chauffeurs or witnesses.

It took less than thirty minutes to reach the De Luca estate.

Hidden beneath the towering gates and sprawling grounds, Rafael parked a distance away, his pulse loud in his ears as he pulled out his phone.

Rafael: “Come downstairs. Now. I need to see you.”

It only took a minute before Alessio’s reply came.

Alessio: “It’s too risky. Everyone’s home.”

Rafael: “I don’t care.”

There was a pause. Then a final message.

Alessio: “Meet me at the garden entrance. Five minutes.”

Alessio slipped through the grand corridor

The hallway was colder than Nico remembered. He walked fast, past the archways and portraits, past the faint murmur of house staff in the distance, past the echoes of a conversation that had no place in this house. In his chest, something twisted hard, like a wire pulled too tight.Rafael. Alessio. He couldn’t unsee it.Not the way Alessio had looked at him. Not the way Rafael had touched him, as if he was something sacred. There had been no doubt in that room. No misinterpretation. No way to rationalize what he had seen into something innocent.Nico reached the end of the corridor and leaned against the wall, chest heaving slightly as if he’d run a mile. A wave of nausea crept up the back of his throat. He squeezed his eyes shut and pressed the heel of his palm to his forehead. He wasn’t supposed to know this.He was the younger brother, the one kept in the shadows when things got ugly. Alessio protected him, always had. From business, from violence, from blood. Even after their fath

The morning sun was shining gently through the curtains of the Montayo villa. Isabella was already dressed, her suitcase by the door, her demeanor calm but determined. She had insisted on returning to the De Luca estate early that day, brushing off the driver’s offer to take her.“No, Rafael will drive me,” she had said lightly, turning to her brother who had just entered the room, stretching after a late morning wake up. “I want us to talk.”Rafael blinked at her, still foggy from sleep. “You’re heading back already?”“Why? Were you hoping I’d stay longer?” she teased, zipping up her travel bag. “Come on, Rafa. I want to be there while they finalize the venue and the color schemes. I’m the bride, remember?”He forced a chuckle and nodded. “Right. Of course.”Minutes later, they were in his sleek black car, gliding smoothly through the streets. Isabella adjusted her sunglasses and leaned her head against the window, a satisfied hum escaping her lips.“I haven’t seen you spend time aro

The De Luca estate felt suffocating.Alessio sat at the long dining table, his fingers tapping a restless rhythm against his glass of water as conversations blurred around him. Isabella was radiant, glowing with excitement as she discussed floral arrangements and guest lists with Mrs DeLuca. The household was buzzing with wedding talk, dates, colors, photographers. And Alessio… was barely holding it together.Nico, seated across from him, hadn’t taken his eyes off his older brother since they sat down. He watched every fidget, every tight jaw clench, every hollow stare into his drink.Something’s wrong. Something big.“You okay, brother?” Nico finally asked, his voice light but his gaze sharp.Alessio forced a smirk. “Yeah. Just a lot on my mind.”“Right. Must be the wedding.”The words were harmless, but there was something pointed in the way Nico said them. Alessio didn’t respond.Isabella, blissfully unaware of the undercurrents at the table, reached for Alessio’s arm. “I was think

Lucia Romano hadn’t wanted to come home. But when your father was Don Salvatore Romano, one of the most ruthless and respected mafia dons in the country, saying no wasn’t an option. She’d known, deep down, what awaited her the moment she stepped off that plane. An arranged marriage. A merger disguised as a wedding. A cage gilded in power and expectation. But she hadn’t thought it would happen so fast. She woke up in her old room, one that hadn’t changed since she was sixteen. Still soft cream walls, still those heavy silk curtains, still that view overlooking the courtyard where the Romano men trained every morning.Lucia stretched, her body sluggish with jet lag, and moved to the window out of habit. And promptly froze. There, shirtless and glistening in the morning sun, was the man from yesterday. The one she’d had a messy, embarrassing misunderstanding with in town when he nearly ran into her car and then called her a reckless driver. She hadn’t known who he was then. She did now.

16The air in Napoli was thick and fresh. Late afternoon sun spilled across streets and walls, the kind of old world charm Rafael Montayo had no patience for. He tugged the sleeves of his jacket, stepping out of the sleek black car that had ferried him from the airport. His father had made it sound like a routine trip, settle a deal, keep an eye on one of their less reliable allies, and report back. But Rafael knew Javier Montayo too well. There was always another game behind the one he showed you.His phone buzzed as he crossed a narrow street toward a café terrace. Alessio’s name lit the screen.Alessio: “Don't miss me too much"Rafael smirked, typing a reply. “No promises.”He slid the phone into his pocket just as a blur of motion slammed into him.A sharp elbow jabbed his ribs. A heated voice spat, “Watch where you’re going, asshole.”He caught her wrist on instinct. Dark eyes met his, furious, beautiful, and impossibly familiar. Tousled hair, travel wrinkled clothes. There was a
