Looking at the developing huge shadow figure in front of her, Lucy knew that it will be hard to fight against it. Before even a word came out of his mouth, both Lucy and Devlin were attacked by Seer. They both didn’t notice when he stood up and started to attack. Lucy who was in her normal human form was thrown near the tree which made her hit hard against the wood. “Lucy……” Devlin growled in both anger and pain seeing his mate. He tried to go near her but he was chained by a magical rope which stopped him from going near his mate. Lucy who is crying in pain also looked at this and tried to stand up as the word Shield is echoing in her mind again and again. She needs to protect him. She was bound by the moon to protect him. Moreover, she needs to protect her mate who she can’t attain. She slowly stood up but was again attacked by Seer. But, this time she didn’t collapse. She was slightly pushed back. Devlin, who is looking at the disappearing figure of his mate, immediately called Connor through and informed all of the four to come to the wolf’s lair. He sat in the same place outside the mansion waiting for them thinking about what he can do to make her his. After almost half an hour, Connor, Cara, Jammie, and Mary came there running. And, almost everyone is panicked seeing him sitting on the floor and Lucy was nowhere to be seen. “Where is Lucy?” This is the first question all of the four asked him. He smiled knowing that she surely has an unforgettable part in everyone’s life then how can he let her go easily?“She went in that direction. Go, find her and take her to my mansion before the night” He said pointing his finger in the direction she went. All four looked at him and that direction confusedly not knowing why she left him. After struggling with his bed for a long time, Devlin sat up on his bed and he can’t able to sleep peacefully when his mate is in pain. He tried to sleep but both his heart and his stupid wolf wants to be with Lucy and what his brain can do about that? He slept again with the determination that he will sleep this time, but simply after two seconds, he stood up and ran near the door of his room. He peeked outside to see whether Connor or Cara is in the hall but when he didn’t find anyone, he slowly started to walk towards her room with baby steps. ‘Go fast. Why are you walking like you break your bone? Our mate is the one who is in the pain, not you. How stupid she is to protect you?’ His wolf said wanting Devlin to exchange his wolf with anyone. “Are you bipolar Den? You’re the one who came out and killed Seer not me who is a simple human” Devlin said and his wolf went silent knowing that they both are not in a situation to play. They need to have their mate first.

After completing the last sentence, he looked at Lucy with teary eyes to see whether she heard that or not, that he is in pain. And he saw that she is crying silently. She looked at him as if she is hearing nothing after that. But, when her eyes met him, she immediately looked away knowing that she can’t control herself if she saw him crying. Everyone who understood what was going on around them sat there shocked. Connor and Cara kneeled in front of Devlin as they need to respect their king. “Don’t hurt me more by seeing me as the king. Whoever I’m, I too have emotions, feelings, and relations. Sorry for hiding this everyone, but it was necessary to protect you all from the danger around you”. Devlin said and left to his room. Mary and Cara went to prepare something to eat as no one here has eaten since yesterday morning knowing that Devlin and Lucy were kidnapped.
