After struggling with his bed for a long time, Devlin sat up on his bed and he can’t able to sleep peacefully when his mate is in pain. He tried to sleep but both his heart and his stupid wolf wants to be with Lucy and what his brain can do about that? He peeked outside to see whether Connor or Cara is in the hall but when he didn’t find anyone, he slowly started to walk towards her room with baby steps. ‘Go fast. How stupid she is to protect you?’ His wolf said wanting Devlin to exchange his wolf with anyone. “Are you bipolar Den? You’re the one who came out and killed Seer not me who is a simple human” Devlin said and his wolf went silent knowing that they both are not in a situation to play. They need to have their mate first.

After completing the last sentence, he looked at Lucy with teary eyes to see whether she heard that or not, that he is in pain. And he saw that she is crying silently. The next day morning, both Lucy and Devlin went to the office like always. Lucy was the one who drove the car but both have been ignoring each other. They both didn’t eat anything yesterday also and Lucy almost became weak because of the injuries and the stress. As Devlin understood this, he asked one of his men to heat the leftover food that yesterday Cara and Mary cooked. He sent Cara to her room asking her to make Lucy something. He must have cooked her some food but he knew she’ll find out that he cooked for her and she won’t eat that food. And, in this situation the restaurant food only makes her weak, so he asked to reheat the food. Pacing around the cabin not knowing whether she was anything or not, Devlin looked at Connor who came inside with a happy face. “She finished her food, now it’s your turn. Eat something” Connor said as Cara has told him through the wolf. Devlin also nodded his head and sat on his chair and started to eat the

Lucy on the other hand, who is sitting on the couch in the study room, is reading a werewolf novel. She knew its crazy reading a werewolf novel while being a werewolf. But, what got her most is the thing in that novel. She wants to laugh at how the world is thinking that a male werewolf can hurt a female werewolf who is his mate but in reality not even a single werewolf even the most powerful one can’t hurt their mate.
