Chapter 32

Zack abruptly lifted his head and stared at his friend. "Nora is not my nemesis so don't make such jokes and besides, I have given up looking for her. I want to start my life afresh" Chris chuckled  "my question here is very simple, don't try to divert the topic, if Nora comes back to you after you start your relationship with fortune, what will you do? who will you choose?" Chris gave his friend such an ultimatum "Chris, actually if there was any hope of Nora coming back, I wouldn't have been here chasing after fortune. For the past five years, I have been living in the hopes that I would find her or she would come back to me but all that was in vain" Zack made a facepalm gesture in frustration and exhaled deeply. Chris knew how his friend felt about this issue but he still had to talk about it "Zack, you do know that the moment you and fortune start your relationship, even if Nora comes back, it would be wrong to abandon" Zack interrupted Chris and said angrily "stop it! she's not coming back! even if I  turn the world upside down, I can't be with her. I like fortune that's a fact and with time, I will love her. If we are always living our lives with fear of the unknown, who knows if we are ever going to move forward. It's better trying out different things, you never know what might work out and I am willing to try this with fortune. I'm not being compelled to do this due to my situation but because I really want to do it". Chris stood up, walked to his friends side and patted him on the shoulder "that girl fortune has been hurt and having another cheating boyfriend might just make her loose hope in love, I'm just looking out for her as well as you". Zack nodded his head "thank you, this topic was bound to be brought up". They spoke for a while before Zack left to pick up his date. He drove directly to the girls little house and as usual, he didn't bother ringing the doorbell and just pushed open the door, strolled in and saw Asia on the couch working on her laptop. Asia didn't bother lifting her head cause she knew her cousin was coming over, he was the only one who would dare walk in without using the doorbell.

"Hey is this how you plan to embarrass me? I walk in and you treat me like thin air, how fair is that? I'm your elder brother remember that" Zack said this as he sat next to Asia. "oh my dearest brother is here" Asia exclaimed with a smile, making it seem as though she had not noticed him all along. Zack sneered "please don't play innocent with me here, I noticed how you ignored me few minutes ago "but bro come on" Asia spoke pitifully. "ok fine, where is fortune?" she looked at this brother of hers and smiled "she will be out in a few minutes, I'm happy you are chasing my friend. I haven't seen you chase any girl for more than five years now" Zack chuckled "who said I'm chasing after her?" Asia giggled "bro it's so obvious, I mean for people who have known you for some time now". Zack pondered and asked "so does your friend know that I'm chasing her?" Asia shook her head "no, she doesn't know". Zack breathed a sigh of relief "it's better that way". A squeaky sound was heard, Fortune walked out of her room and was a little surprised to see Zack on the couch
