Chapter 45

Mr Shaw sighed deeply and pushed the door open. Mrs Shaw was a little startled and wondered if he had heard anything. "so this is the kind of life you want your daughter to lead?" Mrs Shaw didn't expect this, she was dumbstruck "I'm asking! you now let your daughter sell her body just for material things?"

"hey she's not selling her body, besides she's grown up now, there's no problem with her having a boyfriend who can take care of her" Mrs Shaw replied solemnly 

"after all, this could be the man to marry her". Mr Shaw laughed like he had heard the biggest joke of the day "Are you just trying to act stupid or you really are stupid? who told you that his going to marry her? did he tell you he would marry your daughter? what kind of a woman teaches her daughter such values? you are suppose to advise her not to do things that she's not suppose to do but instead, you tell her to enjoy herself and do everything possible to keep him, are you mad? do you want your daughter to get pregnant or something?" Mr Shaw lost it, he couldn't control his anger, this woman had crossed the line. 

Mrs Shaw finally spoke out with a sharp voice "let me tell you something Mr Shaw, my daughter has just shown us that she's more than capable of taking care of herself unlike her elder brother. you always want to be against our daughter all the time, no matter what you say, I will support her through out the way!  she turned and walked out. Mr Shaw shook his head helplessly. Each time he spoke, he was being accused of being against his daughter, how can a father be against his own daughter, I am just trying to look out for her, her well-being, I love my daughter so much and I don't want her to ruin her life. he helplessly sat on the bed and made a facepalm gesture showing how frustrated he was.

At this time, Fortune's father was running up and down trying to send his daughter money for her up keep. at least her tuition fee was paid for and the only thing remaining was  her up keep money. It was like this every semester and he got used to it. He sent his daughter money as soon as he managed to raise the appropriate amount.

 Fortune who was chatting with Zack was suddenly interrupted by her phone, she saw that it was her dad and answered the phone with a smile"dad, how are you?"Mr Williams was overwhelmed upon hearing his daughter's voice, "I'm fine dear, how is everything that side?" "everything is ok dad, you don't have to worry about me" Mr Williams smiled "good, I called to tell you that I have deposited the money into your account, just check on the balance to make sure it's fine". Fortune smiled "thank you Dad, I love you so much" 

"ok darling, I will hung up now". the call got disconnected and fortune looked at Zack who was staring at her. "what's wrong? do I have something on my face?" fortune asked. Zack smiled without shifting his gaze "when you are staring at a rose flower, you can't  look elsewhere, you will stay put and continue to admire it until you have the urge to pluck it"fortune chuckled, "what makes you say that?".

Zack smiled "nothing, I'm just expressing myself, you are as beautiful and delicate as a rose". fortune smiled shyly and dropped her head. 

"fortune if I say I like you, would you give me a chance to be a part of your life?" Fortune never expected this, she stammered, "y-you l-like me?" Zack smiled "isn't it obvious enough that I like you? or maybe you are not yet over your ex and still need time". 

Fortune immediately shook her head "oh no, it's not that, I was caught off guard, I never thought you would like me". hmm Zack nodded " I see, well the truth is right in front of you, what response will you give?" Zack spoke straight forwardly " please allow me sleep over it?" fortune responded . Zack smiled and nodded "don't worry about anything, even if we are dating, I won't force you to do anything that you don't want to do, neither will I compel you into doing something you are not prepared for so don't think too  much ". Fortune was stunned, this guy could read her thoughts so easily, she felt a little embarrassed and smiled awkwardly.

Asia was still with Chris in the restaurant, they were literally having a chat, looking at the time, it was almost 1pm in the afternoon. She took out her phone and directly called the first number in her call log which was Fortune's number, at this time, fortune who felt a little awkward was saved by her phone, "yes Asia, watsup?" she answered casually "fortune it's lunch now, me and Chris were thinking of buying take away food packs for the four of us, what do you think?" fortune immediately agreed without hesitation, she had to admit that she felt weird the moment Zack expressed his feelings for her "yes sure, please do that". "hey fortune before you hung up, ask my brother if he has any special order" fortune looked at Zack who was playing games with his mobile phone"Zack, Asia is asking if you have any special orders for your lunch". Zack responded without lifting his head "I will have whatever you choose". "uhmm okay". "Asia, me and Zack will have rice with beef stew". "alright Mam, whatever you say" Asia responded and hung up. 

"that's your favorite meal?" Zack asked still concentrating on his game. Fortune smiled "yes" is all she said hoping Zack would lift his head and look at her. She even made sure to respond in a dry tone, just to get his attention but this guy completely ignored her. In the first place, why am I trying to get his attention she thought.
