Chapter 4

Amy's POV

"If only King Oliver didn't protect you, I would have sucked your blood until it was dry."

Ten people said that as they left the dining table. Since earlier, they had been staring at me like I was fresh meat amid a pack of lions.

"Two bread and three vegetable salads, don't forget to give me the heart of a black wolf."

Oliver's voice startled me as I was clearing the table. I turned to him, and he looked fresh and not as pale as when he redeemed me at the bar last night. His hair was also brown, and his eyes had changed to bright green.

"What are you looking at? Do you want to break that plate again?" Oliver replied sharply to my gaze.

"I'm--I'm sorry, King Oliver."

"I must admit, you're the first person who dared to look at King Oliver like that. You're a fearless human," Gina quipped, still laughing with her fangs still out since earlier.

"Amy, I want you to clean the entire castle. Don't leave any dust, even just a little bit. The members and I will go to the city, hunt for fresh blood, and destroy weak humans like you who only cause trouble on this earth."

I looked at Gina, who raised eyebrows while flipping the meat in the pan.

"I understand, King Oliver."

"What are you doing? You'll stand there and let the bread cook themselves?"

I jumped and quickly put the bread in the oven. I had to admit, even though he was terrifying, his charm was unbeatable. Being trapped in this castle was like a terrifying yet enjoyable nightmare.

**

At precisely five in the evening, I finished cleaning the entire castle, which was very large. I had been managing this castle alone for almost ten hours. I was tough and great.

Oliver's room was the last place where I was now. Oliver's room had a different aura than the other members' rooms, which looked like regular human rooms.

The luxurious bed with a mosquito net, the standing coffin in the corner of the room, and the many abstract paintings made this room look luxurious yet terrifying at the same time.

Who puts a coffin in their room like an average person?

Thick books like encyclopedias were neatly arranged on his desk. Additionally, a photo showing Oliver wearing a royal-themed outfit from ancient times made this room even more intriguing.

The soft bed and cool temperature in Oliver's room made me unable to resist closing my eyes. Yes, I don't know what I was thinking, but my courage increased when I remembered they hadn't returned from their hunting trip for humans. I decided to lie down on the bed for a while.

This is the best bed I have ever used in my life. The sensation is different; I can sleep soundly here, maybe until I can't get up again. Even my sadness and anger for being sold by my father disappeared instantly. This pleasure truly makes me want to stay in this room forever.

"What are you doing?"

Oliver's voice immediately woke me up from my closed eyes. I got up from the bed and found Oliver standing with his hands folded in front of his chest.

My body shook violently, especially when Oliver started approaching and closing his room door.

"How dare you sleep on my bed? You're just a worthless human, Amy! Do you think I consider you something special because I haven't killed you?"

Oliver's long, pale fingers released his terrible black claws that began to touch my face. Oliver's breath also felt cold as ice. His eyes were no longer green and turned red again.

"I warn you, Amy. Don't mess with me; I can turn you into dust and suck your blood dry. Your stupid crying is bothering me; I only pity you because you were sold by your father last night. I can see your fear and all your trauma in your eyes! Remember, if I don't get a girl's blood tonight, be prepared to welcome your death, Amy!"

Oliver released his grip on my face. I couldn't say anything; I used the opportunity to leave. I quickly took my belongings and left the room.

Unfortunately, when I opened Oliver's room door, my arm accidentally got caught on the sharp part of the door. Fresh blood flowed from my arm.

"Amy!"

I turned to Oliver, who called me, and suddenly, he pulled my body back into the room. Before he closed the door, I saw many members coming and trying to enter the room.

Suddenly I realized that all this was happening because of the blood flowing from my arm. I pressed my wound using the towel in my belongings. My hope was just for this bleeding to stop soon and not to die from being torn apart by dozens of vampires.

After waiting for almost five minutes, Oliver's room door finally opened. I, who hid my face behind my folded arms, quickly stood up and found Oliver baring his fangs with his red eyes staring at me sharply.

"Get out!"

I quickly got up and ran out of Oliver's room. Shouts echoed throughout the luxurious castle as I started running down the stairs. The screams were so frightening that they cursed and yelled 'blood.'

The two members who suddenly appeared to chase me up the stairs were immediately blown away and crumbled into dust. I keep running, and did not dare to turn around.

Even though Gina had been kind, she looked fierce when she saw me running toward the room. This is crazy. Their screams were still heard when I arrived at my room.

Oh God, I don't know what Oliver's plan is, but he has saved me.

And I can't think anything. Can I still survive in this castle?
