The long weekend was extra special because it coincided with two holidays. The first holiday occurred on Friday, while the second occurred on Sunday.
These were President's Day and National Defense Day, respectively. As a result, this holiday, along with Easter, is one of everyone's favorites every year. Every employee is also entitled to paid time off.
Avita and Patrick have already made plans for her to leave with Lucilla while Patrick returns to his hometown.
Avita was not in the mood to accompany Patrick this time. Her last visit to those folks was unpleasant, and she didn't want to ruin her good mood because of other people.
It was natural for them to look down on her since she was an orphan, but that didn't mean she deserved their hatred or anything else they could throw at her.
Patrick was the first to depart, and Avita bid him farewell. She didn't have to be concerned about him because he was driving back.
She received a call from Lucilla after she had sent him away, informing her that she was waiting for her outside. Since Lucilla had told her not to bring anything, Avita simply brought her expensive bag, which Patrick had purchased for her on her birthday last month, and packed a few items and money inside.
Patrick didn't forget to deposit some cash into her ORANGE MONEY, a phone-based payment system that allows users to send and receive money. And it’s VISA card allows the user to swipe anywhere and withdraw money.
Avita disliked using her bank card because of how hazardous the world was out there. Furthermore, her bank account was usually empty because she always cleared it and transferred funds to her savings account when she wasn't using it.
After double-checking that everything was in order, she exited the apartment and properly shut the door and screen door before descending the stairs to the first floor.
Avita encountered several neighbors, whom she greeted without pausing.
Avita never left her spectacles at home, no matter where she went. She didn't care about her image because, as a woman with a lover, she didn't have anyone to seduce outside her relationship.
When she left the complex, she noticed an unfamiliar black RANGE ROVER parked outside; however, she didn't have to guess who owned the car because only Lucilla was brave enough to use her name on her car number plates every time.
She was continuously flaunting herself, but she had every right to do so. What else can you do when your father is a billionaire and the children are instant millionaires from birth?
She came over to the car and expertly opened the door.
Lucilla was busy playing on her phone, but she didn't dismiss this difficult-to-crack acquaintance and greeted her kindly.
Lucilla drive away from the neighborhood, being chatty once more on the way.
"Before we leave for the airport, we'll stop by Sparrow shopping mall and pick up a few items. Just pick whatever you want, it's on me, and the rest we'll buy when we get there."
As she listened to Lucilla, Avita nodded her head. She was no longer going to resist Lucilla and instead would let her do whatever she wanted. It's not every day that a female friend allows you to choose whatever you want as if she were maintaining a mistress.
When they arrived at the shopping mall, Avita followed Lucilla, who was well-versed in its operations. Avita had seen this mall on social media and on television, but she had never visited it.
And it was all due to one problem: it was prohibitively expensive, and she didn't want to worry herself over it.
"Let's start with that shop and then move on to others!" Lucilla replied as she pointed to a cell phone store only a few meters away.
"Do you want to buy another phone?" she asked, pausing and looking at the other with some confusion in her eyes, “I believe it still looks brand new!"
"Ha ha ha," Lucilla laughed, hearing this cute friend act like way, “obviously, my phone is fine, but we're going there for you. We need to snap great shots when we arrive, and I'm not going to let you use that phone!"
Avita finally comprehended who Lucilla was referring to after hearing this. "It is still in good working condition!" she defended herself, her face flushed with embarrassment.
"It is, indeed. You do not have to throw it away. Keep it, but get a new one!" Lucilla felt like she was getting better at enticing others at this point.
In the end, Avita succumbed to the temptation.
Allowing Lucilla to buy her a new phone ensured that it would be nicer than one she could buy on her own, "fine. Do whatever you want, and just accept my gratitude."
Lucilla smiled; triumph written all over her face.
To be honest, she didn't feel exploited, or that Avita was pursuing her money.
Everyone wants money, but Avita prefers to work hard for it and never bothers people she knows about it. When it came to hustling, she wasn't timid or embarrassed, and someone like her deserves Lucilla's respect.
Despite Avita’s humble origins, her parents urged her to get to know Avita well.
"All right, let's go. And you have no right to reject me. I'm going to lose my face if you do so!"
Avita nodded and followed Lucilla's smug lead.
Lucilla wasn't a new face at the mall. She was more of a regular in this establishment, the type that shop owners adore.
When she walked into the phone shop, several salesmen surrounded her, but she didn't seem bothered.
Lucilla realized that if she asked Avita's opinion, the latter would choose something very cheap, which would not sit well with her.
So, she skipped Avita's advice and dashed to the section where they were selling some of the top-selling models from the big phone companies.
"Which model of phone do you want this time, Ms. Larson?" A saleswoman in her twenties inquired politely.
Lucilla shopped around and settled on a stylish gold Samsung Galaxy ZT137 Flip phone with 132GB storage capacity, which is water resistant and is popular among women.
In terms of price, it was being sold for only OWD 18,500, which was pretty reasonable for someone like her but quite the opposite for Avita. That's why she didn't bother inviting Avita to join in.
"I'll take that one!"
Other people betrayed their masters, and as long as they did not betray Vaquesha, they received their rewards as well. Peter, Miguel’s secretary and the man he trusted the most, was one of those people. When Miguel retired, Peter followed suit and retreated into solitude, spending the money he received and being surrounded by his loved ones.Something he could not have done if he had kept working for Miguel when he was dying.Miguel, who was only concerned with his work, had no idea that Peter, the man who served him 24 hours a day, was dying, and it was Miguel’s callous attitude that drove Peter to betray him and begin working with Vaquesha, who promised him a longer life.Everyone is greedy, and Miguel is the most aware of this.Vaquesha appeared in front of Arnold a few years ago and warmed him up, imprinting herself on him so that he would never forget him. This was done so that she might use Lucilla or Arnold as a cover in the future. Being a white moonlight can be useful at time
She, on the other hand, was not going to allow this shift to derail her plans. And, having transformed into what she had become, she began calling herself Vaquesha, a name she discovered among the ancient texts she read to improve her talents and herself. She fell in love with the name the moment she saw it, and she felt it now suited her better than any other name. And because she was living alone, she did not care about names, and her harsh parents never gave her one either.Vaquesha did not have a name until she was fourteen years old, and suddenly having a name made her feel like she belonged, which was a wonderful sensation.Vaquesha realized she needed money, connections, and power to exact her retribution. And she had the funds, but she was too young and needed help with this. And this is how she got the idea to build her own organization, which she did when she founded The Prime Order, a secret organization that took over the world in both legal and unlawful methods. And when
She was just eight years old when her godmother and abusive parents died. She had always despised her parents so much that she did not wish them good. Despite her hatred for those people, she never considered killing or harming them.Even though they beat her, abused her, refused to feed her when she was hungry, and forced her to work all the time, she yearned for them to love her, look at her affectionately, and hug her.She was not a fool, despite her lack of socialization as a child. She could tell what should and should not be done. She simply wanted them to adore her, but they never offered her the opportunity. She ran away from home hoping for a brighter future, and that future was something her godmother could provide for her.She did not know how her godmother and parents met, but she was glad they did because she got to meet someone who made her feel that living was better than dying.Unfortunately, the day she thought she would be saved turned out to be her apocalypse. To sa
‘What is she up to? Is she still alive and well? Do I deserve all this?’These questions have stayed with him since that night. He feels like a coward whenever he remembers how sad and heartbroken, she looked and sounded that night. He had always taken pride in being a strong man and a hero. He saw himself as a man who could do anything he set his mind to.And yet, in only one month, he was rendered useless and helpless, all at the hands of people he knew nothing about.Miguel had always known he was selfish, and he did not care about others as long as it benefited him.He did not expressly commit murder or other horrific crimes to get to where he was, and he was not a saint, either. This is why, when he cheated on his wife and neglected her feelings for him during their marriage, it never disturbed him.But everything changed the night he saw her for the last time. She had made so many sacrifices for him and his family, and yet he just let her go without fighting for her.He recalls
Did she come to regret it? Yes, she is sorry, and it hurts like hell. She felt as if she were being punished for all of the wrongdoings and crimes she committed throughout her life. She attempted to forget the vision every single second after seeing it, but she failed horribly.Even the way she looked at her spouse had changed. How could she bear looking at him with the same affection she had before?Felicia had never been concerned by the fact that he had just returned from one of his mistresses. She would continue to appear personal and virtuous since she was convinced that one day, she would be free of them all.Even after discovering that Avita had cheated on her husband behind her back, she felt sorry for her. However, her attitude toward her husband was about to alter. She was never going to trust him again, but her attitude changed as Avita transformed into someone she had never expected. That is when her horror began.Felicia felt as if she were a joke. She felt like a joke when she awoke and saw she was still alive. She had no idea how it had gotten to this point. She was born and raised proudly, and yet she found herself in such a terrible position that she just wanted to die. After surviving this ordeal, Lucilla could not help but chastise herself for being selfish, foolish, and, above all, a poor judge of character.Everything began when she set her sights on Takunda, a man she met when she brought Avita to check on her house in the Twin Towers.Takunda was someone she had fallen in love with at first sight. She took it upon herself to discover everything she could about him, and she was certainly impressed. One thing she liked about him was how honest he was at times, and how he made it clear that he was not interested in her, which stung at the moment but she learned to take it quietly. After all, there was no criminal in secretly loving someone even if the sentiments were not reciprocated.Everything should have been perfect,
