I traced his gaze to meet Gia by the door. She had a jar of some weird-looking liquid in her grip while her eyes scanned us.
‘‘Gia?’’ Levi called. He seemed dumbstruck. I could swear I heard his heartbeat.
“I'm sorry. I didn't realise you'd be busy.’’ She turned and left.
“Gia!’’ Levi called after her, pulling away from me to go after her.
I couldn't believe my world. Levi had never resisted my nakedness, he always went crazy at the mere sight. But he was pulling away now, and because of what, that little girl?

Alan’s POVA smirk split my lips, curling them around the edges as I watched the fool wobble down the road. Her fists clenched so hard it was like her bones would snap the next second. Not that I cared anyway. Her eyes blazed with determination.Determination for what? I clicked my tongue. Really, a woman's mind is difficult to understand.Like searching for a needle in a vast ocean. But I wasn't concerned, because I knew that soon enough, that flickering flame would be extinguished by terror.I wish I could see it. I ran my tongue over my teeth; just the image alone sent a thrill down my spine. I could taste victory in the air."Women," I spat. "So easily swayed by emotions."I'd better go back inside to prepare, I thought, turning around.I stormed into my office, snatching a small phone from a locker. I dialed a number; it picked up on the first ring.A gruff voice spoke. "You going fishing on the full moon?"I replied, "The tide will be low by then."That was our passcode in c
Gia's POVMy lashes fluttered open. My mind was still. I took in the room where I was. It was Levi's.How did I get here? For a moment, my head was blank. Then, like a flood, it came slamming onto me, jolting me awake. My chest tightened painfully. With a flash of white, everything began to flicker through my mind like a tape on fast-forward. The arrest. The slurs. The despair. The loneliness. The betrayal. My father’s face twisted with contempt. The result. Levi worried. The argument and what followed after.Least of all, what I didn’t want to remember. The discovery. And the unbelievable thing.Him, whispering her name.It crashed onto me like a choker, tightening uncomfortably around my neck.I stumbled off the bed and out of the room. If I stayed in that room one more second, I might give in to my urges and trash that room. Thankfully, I didn’t.I held on.The moment I was outside, in the corridor, I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. Goodness. Now what?I sure could
Gia's Pov "What's the worst thing that can happen?" I once asked that in spite. At that point, I really couldn't see anything that could possibly be worse than this. After all, to me, I'd already lost everything. My reputation. My family. Everything. But perhaps I was ungrateful. And I see that clearly now. Those were my thoughts as I sped through the pack. The same pack I said I wasn't going to enter. Well, I did. It was to prove one thing. Hopefully, it's as I'm thinking, that this mission wasn't approved by Levi but by someone else, by Alan.Hasn't he been the one giving suggestions and advice to Levi?Right now, I'm outside his door, my fist hovering over the polished wood.I lowered my eyes, not caring about what they were saying. Some passing guards whispered, "The Alpha has really pumped up the search for the marked one. I wonder what that means for the present Luna."Another scoffed, "Please don't get me started calling that thing Luna."Their voices faded when they saw me,
Gia’s POVIt’s a map.Yes. A map.In Levi’s room. Not his parlour. Not his study. His room.Scribbles filled the map along with notes that seemed glued to it. I ran my eyes through it, some keywords catching my attention: curse. cure. last seen. history. Each word hammered my heart more than the last.“This is an antique, right?” I curled the corner of my lips into a smile, asking no one.It had to be, because why would Levi have it in his room anyway? It was just too odd. I didn’t know he was searching for something. He never mentioned it.But fresher ink on some of the papers stood out like a sore thumb, and worst of all, Levi’s handwriting mocked me.Just then, my eyes stopped at the inscription in gold on the wooden bar below. “What’s that?” I squinted at the word. Wait a minute. My eyes widened the second I could make out the word there: Selene.A woman’s name, in my man’s room, hung like a trophy.“Maybe it’s the name of the painting.”But it’s not a painting, a voice countered
Gia’s POV[Warning: Mature Scenes Ahead.]Levi leaned in.Then I leaned in next.My eyes fell to his lips. At the last moment, his tongue swiped over them, covering them with a sheen. I gulped, my heart thrumming in my throat. We were so close, our breaths intermingled.I looked into his eyes. They were dark, staring at me with desire. I knew what he wanted; a jolt went through me.Every thought of resistance had flown out of my head. All I knew now was that I wanted this. I wanted him.Levi closed the distance as I shut my eyes, just in time for his lips to land on mine. They were soft.I parted my lips as his tongue swept in, hesitant at first, then hungry. His fingers found mine, interlocking them together into something intimate and close. His other hand wove into my hair strands, pulling me flush against him.I could feel the hurt, the desperation he poured into it, like he wanted to tell me something that couldn’t be put into words. In turn, I poured in the anger. The need.He
Gia's PovOne look from me was enough for him to start talking. His shoulders sagged. "It’s Alan."Alan again. I raised a brow at him.Levi went on talking, giving vivid explanations of how everything would go. He seemed so proud of himself. The sparkle in his eyes was as clear as day, his chest puffed out ever so slightly, his voice leveled, spiking at odd moments as he hit details I wasn’t sure I should have been aware of.Then it struck me. Wasn’t it the same thing they did to me? Levi didn’t know, but all I could hear at some point were three words: kidnap, bind, threaten.I was kidnapped.Maybe not physically, but mentally, held against my will and bound like a criminal for doing something no one did. Something they considered disgraceful. But wasn’t it to survive? These same people who threw curse words at me had never for one day helped. They would rather behave as though they hadn’t seen it, but now they feel as though they can make their own input. Like their opinion mattere
