ANMELDENHer eyes fluttered closed. The last thing she saw was that girl glaring daggers at them as Innessa gave in to the act.
She gently cupped the side of his face while her free hand rested on his chest.
Issac broke the kiss with a loud pop. "Kiss me back," He murmured against her lips, peering at her with those drunken eyes as he chased her lips again.
Innessa was hesitant as she slowly moved her lips and gently nibbled on his bottom lip -just like he had done earlier- feeling its plumpness between her lips.
He groaned, grabbing her nape and pulling her closer to deepen the kiss.
She closed her eyes tightly, her hand moved to his shoulder as she gripped it tightly, feeling his tongue stroking hers, and she slowly kissed him back, hesitantly.
A shudder engulfed her body when his lips wrapped around her tongue, and he sucked on it. The overwhelming sensation had her pulling away from him, breaking the kiss. She could barely breathe when he guided her mouth to his, locking their lips.
She never knew that a mere kiss could be this intense, to the point that her whole body felt ablaze, and her toes curled with the sensations that raked through her body.
She thought kisses were sweet and gentle. Though it looked gentle whenever her father kissed her mom, Isaac's kisses made her body shiver, her lungs burn for oxygen, and her heart pound in her ears with such wildness that she felt it would burst out of her ribcage.
She gently whimpered, and he swallowed it within the kiss with a low growl.
She dug her nail into his shoulder when she needed to breathe, and thankfully, he broke the kiss as the girl panted heavily. Her eyes darted to the door, and to her relief, that girl was gone.
His fingers gently pressed in her scalp, trying to pull her for a kiss again, when she quickly placed her fingers on his lips, stopping him. "She... She's gone," She breathed heavily.
His dazed eyes darted at the door, and she was gone. He inhaled deeply, bobbing his head soundlessly. His eyes darted to her lips while she looked anywhere but at him.
"We can continue our lessons some other time," he said. Carrying her in his arms bridal style, she yelped, looping her arms around his neck as he gently perched her on the edge of the pool.
"Give me a second," he said, diving back into the pool to calm the f*ck down. He was hard for her.
Issac swam for a couple of minutes, and once he calmed down, he got out of the pool.
Innessa had a towel around her shoulders. Her eyes were glued to him as soon as he stepped out of the pool.
His perfectly crafted abs, that sturdy chest, all those glistening muscles were in full display, and his wet bangs covered his forehead. She meekly peeked at the tattoos when he raised his eyes, and she abruptly looked away, scolding herself for gaping at him so shamelessly.
Innessa shifted to the side so that her back was to him. Issac grabbed the towel and began drying himself. Walking into the locker section, he was back with a set of clothes as he handed them to her and guided her to the ladies' restroom.
Innessa quickly showered and put on the clothes he gave her. The shirt was huge on her; it kept slipping down her shoulder and reaching her mid-thighs, while the sweats were too big for her, but thankfully, she tightened them around her waist so they wouldn't keep falling as she folded them from the bottom.
She stepped out of the restroom with dripping wet hair, only to find Issac standing in front of her, leaning against the wall.
Upon seeing her, he straightened and walked over to her. His eyes glided over her body clad in his clothes, and something in his chest shifted at the sight of her in his clothes.
F*cking adorable!
He wants to eat her up.
She passed him an awkward smile as he took the bag of her wet clothes from her.
"I'll get them dry-cleaned," he said.
"No, it's fine," She tried to take it back, but he stepped away from her. Walking to the other side of the room, he handed it to the staff maid and gave her some money to get his work done.
Innessa stared at his back. He was wearing a black shirt and nude cargo pants with his hands tucked in his pockets. His slightly wet hair was in bangs on his forehead, giving him a cute look. The lady left, and he walked back to her holding a towel. He placed it on her head and ruffled her hair, drying it with the towel.
"You'll catch a cold," he said, ruffling her hair.
"It's not that cold," She pointed out. He wrapped the towel around her head and face and made her look at him. The towel around her head and face made her cheeks squishy, and her lips puckered out as she innocently blinked at him.
His heart did that f*cking backflip again. His eyes dropped to her lips before he quickly diverted his gaze.
With a slight ruffling for the last time, he tossed the towel on the chair and grabbed her hand. "Come, I'll drop you at your workplace," he said, and the girl, clueless, followed behind him, not noticing him holding her hand because it felt so natural.
She stopped at the parking lot. "I need to get some forms printed," she said.
"What?" he asked, unlocking his door.
"I have to do some work. I'll see you later," she said, trying to walk away, only to realize his grasp on her hand.
"I'll help you," He offered quickly.
"Oh, no. It's fine."
"I'll help, tell me what you need to do," he said.
"I need to make a form and get 50 copies of it. It's a survey project, I was thinking of getting it done in the cafe because many people come there, and some might help me out," she said.
"Do you have a laptop on you?"
"Yeah, I do."
"Great. Get in the car and design that form. Send the file to me, and I'll get you 50 copies at the cafe," he said after taking the driver's seat.
Her eyes widened in surprise at his kind gesture, and she thanked him before quickly getting to work. Innessa sent him the file as he pulled over.
She got out of the car, and he told her he'll be back with the copies as she thanked him.
Innessa was twenty minutes late, but thankfully, Jasper wasn't mad at her; he was in a good mood. She changed into her uniform and got to work.
Half an hour passed, and Issac showed up with the survey forms. She greeted him with the biggest smile, which rendered him speechless. It wasn't that big of a deal what he did for her, but she looked so thankful about it. She offered him a table, but he refused, saying he'd help her.
Innessa began handing out the surveys after asking the customers to help her with them. Some of them agreed. She had asked Jasper about it, who had given her permission to do it.
Issac watched her smiling at a couple of dudes as they stared at her and chatted jovially while she guided them through the forms.
His jaw clenched as he stomped over to them. Issac took all the papers from her. "You can take care of the orders, I'll get it done," he said.
"No, it's fine-"
"Don't worry. I like to help. Now go," he said, making her leave with a frown as those boys gave him a poker look.
Issac leaned down, placing his hand on the table, glaring at them one by one. "She's my girl," He hissed lowly in that dark tone as they quickly looked down and avoided looking at him again.
Innessa took the orders and greeted the customers while Issac did all the work for her.
She watched as he smiled at the elderly ladies who seemed smitten by him as he talked to them about the survey. "What are your thoughts on this subject, young man?" One of the ladies asked him.
"If I find these men, I'd gladly break their bones and make them a cripple for the rest of their lives," he said darkly as those ladies nodded, satisfied with his answer.
"Is he your boyfriend?" The waitress who worked along with Innessa asked.
"What?"
"I wish I could have a boyfriend exactly like him," she said, staring at Issac with those hooded eyes.
"All eyes are on him. His presence is so attractive and mysterious," The girl said.
Innessa frowned at the way she was looking at Isaac. It was unethical and unholy. "Stop staring at him like that," The words left Innessa's lips on their own as her eyes widened, realizing what she just said.
"Jeez, chill. I know he's yours." The waitress said, walking back into the kitchen while Innessa stared at Issac.
She didn't know why, but she didn't like her co-worker staring at him as if she were some delicious sweet.
"It was so kind of you, thank you for giving me permission," she said, staring up at her boss, who smiled down at her. Jasper placed his hand on her shoulder, telling her not to thank him for it as they conversed naturally.
Issac, who was sitting at one of the tables compiling all the forms, had his eyes set on the guy who had his hand on Innessa's shoulder and the way she was smiling at him.
They looked close.
He clenched his jaw when she beamed at him and bowed slightly while the man let out a chortle.
"What is so f*cking funny?" Issac hissed under his breath, glaring at them. Especially at that jacked dude who looked like a gym freak.
After what felt like hours, she stepped out of that office and headed in his direction. He forced the bitterness off his face and greeted her with a normal expression.
"All done, and these are 60 surveys, 10 extras," he said, and her lips parted in a surprised gasp as she took those papers and went through them lightly before blessing him with those gorgeous twinkling eyes.
"Thank you. Thank you so much, Issac." She beamed so joyously that he felt like working for her every day, starting today.
She was back in his clothes, looking so adorable.
His eyes fell on her neck when he noticed something. Issac leaned closer, gently pushing her hair back as she stilled, his thumb caressing the scar on her neck, and she stiffened.
"It's not too old," he said as if he were so familiar with the scars. He noticed it for the first time. Did this mean she was covering it with makeup all this time?
"I... I got it two months back," She whispered, avoiding his gaze, and something inside him twisted while he pressed his thumb on her vein, feeling her pulse.
"Who did this?" he asked in a low voice.
"W... We should hurry home-"
"Who did this, Innessa?" The chilling coldness in his voice made her speak up.
"Henry," She whispered in a small voice.
Issac threw his head back. Closed his eyes with a clenched jaw and turned around, giving his back to her as a string of curses raked his head.
A small tug on his shirt from behind had his eyes snapping open. Innessa was holding his shirt and lightly pulling at it to get his attention.
"It happened when I didn't meet you. Please don't worry about it," She tried to calm him down, and it worked a little.
"Let's go. I'll drop you," he said. They got in his car, and he drove her to the dorms.
The car ride was silent, so she decided to break the silence.
"I'll treat you to a meal, a treat for helping me out," she said. A small smile graced his lips as he glanced at her.
"When?"
"Tomorrow? After my shift," She suggested.
"Cool."
Issac pulled over the car. Innessa thanked him for the ride and for helping her out with the project as she stepped out of his car. At the front door, she turned and waved at him lightly. He waved back with a small smile as she sauntered inside the building.
Once he received her text saying she had made it to her room safely, he drove off, rage swirling in his cognac eyes.
"Hey, what's up with you both? Why do you guys look depressed as f*ck?" Scarlett asked both Darla and Innessa as the three of them were heading to the academy."I couldn't sleep because I was excited about the new semester," Darla said, but her voice didn't match her excitement, and Innessa remained quiet."Shall we go to the arcade for fun after classes tomorrow?" Scarlett suggested. Both of her friends looked off as if something was bothering them. She wanted to cheer them up."I'll go," Innessa said, and Darla also agreed to go with them."I'll ask Elena to join us," Innessa said, and Scarlett passed her an approving smile.Upon arriving at the academy, they headed to their respective departments.Innessa had three classes with Elena today, and she was glad she had her friend close by.Elena kept talking about her vacations and how she had so much fun with her cousins back in the town, while Innessa was completely zoned out. She hadn't seen Issac for the past three days, ever since
The four of them sat at the dining table, and Innessa was tense as a board. Her gaze was fixed on the food on her plate. The dumplings and borscht smelled so good, but the girl had no appetite. She kept picking at her food and playing with it aimlessly while Faina kept talking and telling Isaac how she met Arthur in the academy, and they instantly felt the connection. While Innessa was sitting beside Issac, Arthur and Faina were sitting opposite them. The atmosphere looked so peaceful and lively thanks to Faina's cheerful attitude, but Innessa felt depressed. "The food is delicious," Issac complimented after having a couple of dumplings. Faina chuckled. "Wait until you have the dumplings made by Innessa. She's an excellent chef. Her cooking is so good that you'll be licking your fingers," Faina praised her sister, which got everyone's attention shifted to Innessa, making her uncomfortable. Especially by those dark cognac eyes that peered at her with great interest. "I'd love to h
The next morning, she woke up alone in bed. There was a blanket draped over her, but she felt drained. The bed was still a bit warm, which meant Isaac was there just a couple of minutes ago.The girl had no energy to move. She lay there silently staring at nothingness. Her mind was blank last night, and even now it was blank to a certain point, but whatever happened the previous night began to rake her head, and she couldn't do anything to stop those memories and thoughts from roaming her mind.He punished her for trying to kill herself last night. Innessa didn't know why she ran into the water. She was very well aware that she couldn't swim, she was aware that what she was doing was immensely dangerous, and yet she was scared of Issac more than death. In that fleeting moment, she chose death because she was very well aware that she had hit him, the fear that Issac might raise his hand on her forced her to walk into the arms of death. The fact that the person she was more scared of de
Innessa sealed her lips in a thin line and tried to break free from his hold on her jaw, but he only tightened his hold, his fingers dug brutally into her fluffy cheeks, promising to leave bruises, as a painful whimper escaped her lips. Using it to his advantage, he shoved his tongue in her mouth. The girl tried to tilt her head away, but he was holding her jaw with such strength that it hurt. When she didn't respond, he tipped his head, deepening the kiss. Her eyes widened, feeling his tongue clashing with hers and forcing her to kiss him back. Innessa forced her arms between their chest to keep an appropriate distance. She tried to shove at his chest, but he didn't budge. He was like a feral beast devouring her. Tears streamed down her cheeks and got mixed with the water; her eyes closed tightly as she struggled against him, but to no avail. The sound of her protest was muffled by his mouth on hers as he pressed his mouth further on hers. Her neck was craned up as he hovered ove
Issac gently lay her down on the bed. She was unconscious. Her lips slightly parted as she took in shallow breaths. Her lashes and cheeks were still wet with her tears. Innessa looked pale. He gently covered her body with the sheets and wiped her tears before dropping a soft kiss on her temple. He never wanted to see her in this state, but she left him no choice. Issac pulled back as he walked to the windows and locked them properly before he stepped out of the room and locked the door behind him. He headed down the stairs, where one of Victor's men was already escorting the trembling priest out of there. Victor faced him with a slight frown on his forehead. Victor was always calm and cheerful around him, but at the moment, he seemed displeased. "What?" Issac asked, frowning at the look Victor was giving him. "This forced marriage wasn't needed," Victor said after a long pause, and Issac's jaw ticked. "And why do you think that?" "Didn't you see how she was trembling? I think
Innessa groaned. Her eyelids felt heavy, and her head throbbed with a light ache. It took her a couple of seconds to force her eyes open. She blinked several times to adjust her vision. Her brows furrowed, staring at the unfamiliar ceiling. Since when did she get a chandelier in her dorm? Her eyes widened as everything came rushing back to her, and her heart tumbled to her mouth. She abruptly sat up straight, staring around her to find herself in a luxurious room. She felt dizzy as she held her head, trying to massage her temple.Where was she?Innessa groggily got off the bed. Her feet touched the cold marbled flooring as she pulled herself to her feet, still clutching her head. She searched her pockets for her phone, but it wasn't there; of course, he must've taken her phone. Her eyes darted around, looking for an escape. She hurried to the first door, but it was a walk-in closet. Innessa scrambled to the door to her right and twisted the doorknob, but the door was locked. She tried
