Chapter 5

Little girl?

In an instant Angel was offended. Did the man call her a kid to insult her? At the age of eighteen, Angel was indeed small, petite and unlike the rest of her family who were tall. Angel is short, thin with wide, clear eyeballs. Now she is wearing black shorts combined with a light blue t-shirt that is slightly oversized. From afar she looks like a boy.

No wonder the man called him 'little girl'. Maybe he thought Angel was one of the junior academy students who got lost. Yes, Angel is indeed a student at this academy, but she is a senior student who graduated six months ago. Now she and her mother, as well as her best friend Rain, have come to the academy to take special training forms.

The violinist put down his violin, then stepped closer. When he got closer, Angel was immediately stunned. Jeez! The man was so handsome that he was nearly beautiful. His straight black hair was left to stretch until it touched the collar of his shirt. His lips … his eyes … everything was perfect. Maybe if this guy lost his job as a violinist, he could become the perfect actor or model.

So here comes the live performance of Gamma, the genius violinist who is so famous. Angel often sees him playing in his practice videos, often listening to his brilliant recordings in between learning to play the violin, but apparently, this guy's appearance in person is truly many times more dazzling than his image in the videos.

However, the man's expression looked displeased. He frowned and looked at Angel with an unfriendly gaze.

"Why don't you answer my question?"

Angel gasped at the curt muttering. Which question? She even forgot Gamma's words just now, other than that the man referred to her as a 'little girl'. Her mind was wandering about how lucky she was, being able to hear the maestro's play live, and being able to see it in person too. Rain would have been very surprised if Angel told him about her luck.

Because Angel was silent, Gamma got closer, frowned and looked suspiciously. This child turned out to be a beautiful girl, he thought to himself, watching Angel's flushed cheeks and big eyes shaded by very curvy lashes. She was probably only twelve or thirteen years old. Maybe in a few years, she will grow up to be a beautiful adult woman who will be adored by many men.

Gamma smiled wryly. Suddenly felt strange to himself for thinking about the beauty of children like this.

"What are you doing here? Are you lost?" The girl looked terrified, so Gamma eased his angry expression and turned to flat.

Angel shook her head.

"I listen to your violin." There is joy in her eyes when she talks about playing the violin. Her smile grew. "Incredibly perfect! That's 'Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso', right? You played extraordinarily beautifully."

This kid understands music, Gamma thought. Maybe she was indeed one of the students in this academy, who was getting lost.

"Yes. I was practicing playing it before you came and interrupted my concentration." Gamma is not used to discussing music with strangers, even with this little girl in front of him.

"Are you lost?" he repeated the question again, concluding immediately even though the girl had shook her head. "You can get out of this hallway by the way you came in earlier."

The girl's eyes shone with protest. "You need to know, I'm not lost. And I'm not a child!"

Her chin lifted proudly. "I'm eighteen years old, excuse me."

The girl bent her body as if in mockery, then as fast as lightning turned away with light steps like fairy steps.

Gamma was still stunned in the doorway, listening to the little steps that drifted away. Then smiled wryly again. Eighteen years … his guess was off the mark, even though he was very good with women. However, with such a small body and innocent face and clear eyes without sin, it was only natural that Gamma had guessed wrong.
