Even while six months pregnant, my mate still made me fight in the wars. However, the badge of honor that should have been mine was given to my stepsister instead.

If I hadn't escaped from the guards that my mate, Rylan Silverclaw, put in charge of locking me up, I would never have witnessed any of this with my own eyes.

Rylan handed my badge of honor to my stepsister, Elowe Fangtooth, with my dad, Dylan Furla, as witness. The looks on both their faces were solemn, as if the one who'd gone out to fight was really Elowe after all.

Dad's face was bright red with excitement. He exclaimed loudly, "Congrats, my precious daughter, for getting the Alpha's recognition!"

He sounded as if Elowe was his own flesh and blood. He'd completely forgotten how Elowe and her mother had been the one who caused the death of my mom.

It wasn't until I heard the applause that I realized my friends were also there to witness the entire scene. They exclaimed proudly and in joy, "We will never forget Elowe's contribution to our pack! We will remember her forever!"

What a joke. The person standing on the stage, they were celebrating, Elowe Fangtooth, was an omega who didn't even have her own wolf yet.

Meanwhile, my wolf was snarling and roaring loudly in fury, wanting nothing more than to rush in and tear apart everyone at the scene.

Ultimately, I still managed to control her with my conscience.

I tried contacting Dad with my mind link, but he hung up on me at once. To think that he used to treat me like his precious daughter before Elowe happened.

So, I called Rylan next.

Rylan's face visibly darkened. I could tell from his unhappy expression that he wanted to hang up as well, but he begrudgingly answered my call after Elowe said something to him.

I tried my best to maintain a calm and steady voice. "Where are you?"

Rylan looked disgusted, but he replied in his usual monotonous voice. "I'm attending a very important meeting at the Moon Goddess Temple. Be good and stay there. It's what's best for you and your pup."

I'd heard him give me the same excuse so many times in the past. He'd been forbidding me from leaving the pack ever since I'd started carrying his pup.

He told me that it was for the sake of my safety, but every time the rogues attacked, I was still forced out to fight them off and defend our pack.

He told me that it was my duty as the Luna of the pack.

However, that badge of honor Elowe now wore was something I'd asked Rylan time and time again, but to no avail.

"Is Elowe there too?"

"Why the fuck are you still attacking Elowe? You've bullied her enough in the past! What more do you want from her?"

Then, he raised his voice in public and started yelling at me angrily. "Thalia Furla, you're already successfully carrying my pup, so you should be grateful for that! Don't think that you can do whatever you want just because you have a powerful wolf!

"Only evil bitches like you will always get suspicious of other women all the time! I am an Alpha! I have tons of more important things to do than to fucking explain all this nonsense to you!"

I felt my heart sink into my stomach. Still, I clung on to the last shred of hope and said, "It's our wedding anniversary…"

Rylan only seemed to realize it then and fell silent.

Dad, who'd been watching from the side all along, suddenly snatched the phone out of Rylan's hand.

"Thalia! Don't you know how to behave yourself? You're the Luna of the pack! You should be doing your duties in the pack instead of causing trouble for Alpha Rylan all the damn time! His time is precious and he has lots more important things to do than to attend to your every whim!"

Then, Dad hung up on me in a rage.

Rylan came back to his senses and pulled Elowe into his arms. "Thalia has been overthinking ever since she's been carrying the pup. If it weren't because I pitied Elowe for being too weak and unable to get pregnant, I'd never even have considered that bitch, Thalia.

"Still, it's only four months more. When she finally gives birth to my descendant, I won't just give you this badge of honor—I'll also give the position of Luna to you, Elowe."
