Mira listened to the loud thumping coming from the outside. She was lying on the cold hard floor the whole time even though there was a decent bed for her in the room. She didn’t know how long it had been since she arrived here. She was restless since the moment she was here. Mira didn’t even sleep, although she felt she was exhausted. How could she sleep when her mate was at war in his territory?

“It’s time,” Alistair said as he entered the room.

He forced Mira to stand on her feet before he lowered his eyes to match hers. It didn’t need the genius to figure out that the day of the eclipse was finally here. The smile and happiness on his face were enough to confirm it. Mira had the urge to punch his face, but she decided to reserve her energy. There was no use fighting a useless battle like this.
