LOGINMirella's POV
A MONTH LATER “No, I haven’t turned on the television Tessa, is something wrong?” I asked, worry etched on my face. It’s been a month since my divorce and the pain still felt as fresh as it did on that very day. Andreas was at work, so I was the only one left in the house. “What do you mean? I shouldn’t freak out, you’re scaring me Tessa, I’m just going to,“ I turned it on and my eyes widened in complete shock when I saw what was on. It was Nikolai and Liora on live television. They were getting married in a weeks' time! I mean I knew marriage had to come eventually but.. I didn’t think it would be this soon, it’s only been one month. I stared ahead, my eyes glued to the screen, tears slowly welling up in my eyes. Tessa frantically called for me over the phone, asking if I was okay. “I’ll call you back Tessa, okay?” And with that I cut the line off. I just couldn’t, I wasn’t myself, I hadn’t been myself in a long time. Without giving it a second thought, I rushed out of the house and hurriedly got a cab. “Where to ma’am?” “The Marceli household please,” I replied, the driver nodded and drove into the streets. I had no idea what the hell I was doing, but I had to do something. I mean maybe if I told him I was pregnant, he would take me back. I just wanted to see him one last time. My Nikolai. Who knows he might just have a change of heart. I arrived at Nikolai’s penthouse and made my way out of the taxi, making my way towards the locked gate, I pressed down on the intercom. A large buff guard comes into view. “Yes? Who are you ma’am and what is your business here?” he said gruffly, I hadn’t seen his face around here when I was lady of the house, maybe Nikolai just hired them. “Please, I need to see Nikolai.” I pleaded, desperation evident in my tone. “Do you have an earlier appointment with him?” he asked. “No bu, but I’m his wife, please, just tell him I’m here to see him.” A humorless laugh leaves him. “And I want to meet the President of the United States, but I guess we’re not getting both our wishes, lady, get lost.” He dismissed me and was about to walk away. “Please! I just, I just need to see him, please.” I begged in desperation. “I said get lost lady!” The guard barked at me in annoyance. “I jus,“ before I could utter another word, a voice cut through both of ours. “What’s the commotion Malachi?” A voice I knew all too well. Nikolai! And by his side was.. Liora, she looked more beautiful in person, my insecurities but at me as I gazed upon whom Nikolai had chosen over me. “This lady says she’s your wife boss, but don’t worry I’ll just,“ I cut him off before he could finish his sentence. “Nikolai! Nikolai, it’s me mirella, please, I just need to see you, please.” I held on to my tears. He froze as his eyes met mine. He was surprised, then a look of indifference passed his eyes as Liora clung to his body. “Let her in,” he said in a bored tone. As he walked towards me, Liora stood in place as she watched from afar, a look of hate burning in her gaze at me. I stared at him with tears rushing to my eyes, anticipating what he was about to say. I had missed him so much and was so happy to finally see him again. I fought the urge to run to him, jump in his arms and hug him. “What are you doing here?” He finally spoke. I felt like a bucket of ice-cold water was dumped on me, as reality hit me square in the face. “I…I…” I was at a loss for words, emotions raged in my heart. “You shouldn’t be here. Why are you here?” “I came to see you… Nikolai.” My voice cracked, a fresh batch of tears rolling down my chin and he rolled his eyes. “Now? Really, you have the worst timing Mirella” he spit out with so much venom. “I just, I needed to tell you something too.” “Mirella, I don’t want to hear anything you have to say, you shouldn’t be here. Look at the state of you, just one month and you’ve gained a few pounds?” he said as he eyed my body in disgust. “I look out of shape because I’m pregnant!” I suddenly snap at him, making him raise his eyebrows in surprise, then morphing into rage. “I gained a few pounds because I’m carrying your baby!” I yelled as tears rolled down my eyes. All Nikolai did was stare, he wasn’t moved by my tears. He didn’t care. “You just don’t care, you don’t care! I’m carrying your baby Nikolai and you don’t care! How can you be so cruel? You kicked me out of your house on the night I was going to tell you, and you’ve never looked back, not even once Nikolai…do you detest me that much?” “Yes! I don’t care when you are going to get it though that that thick skull of yours that I don’t care about you, and that bastard in your belly is not mine? I’m not even sure there is a baby in there. Is this how low you’re willing to go mirella, wave a baby around, and suddenly I’ll take your pathetic, barren self back?” Because I could stop myself, my hand met with his cheek with a resounding slap. His face turned to the side for a moment before turning back to me slowly, his body boiling with rage. “Get the hell out! You and your bastard baby! If I ever see you around here or anywhere close to me mirella, you’ll curse the day you met me,” he said in a deadly tone. Liora suddenly rushed out of nowhere. “Nikolai,” Liora calls him softly. He held her hand as she got to him, his eyes closed as she calmed him down. “My love.” Nikolai calls softly. “Why is she still here?” Liora asked. “Nothing my love, you have nothing to worry about, she’s not important.” He replied as he cupped her cheeks and kissed her. I watched as my heart fell into pieces once more. “Remember we still need to finish the interview,” Liora says as she pulls away from Nikolai, a smile etched on her lips. “Okay, let’s go,” Nikolai said as he walked away with her, completely ignoring my existence. I stood there frozen, a multitude of emotions building in me as the guard tried to usher me out. Without thinking straight, I headed towards the patio where the interview was being held. I had no idea what I was doing. But I just couldn’t leave like that. I got to the patio and let out an ear splitting scream. all cameras turned to me, I was on live television. Nikolai and Liora were seated infront of the interviewer, shock and irritation evident on Lioras face. Before I could make my way to them, the guard got hold of me. “Let go of me!” I yelled as I struggled with the guards trying to pull me out. Everyone was staring at me like i was a lunatic. Liora suddenly stood up, walked towards me and slapped me hard. Everyone gasped, the guards let go of me as I held my cheek in absolute shock. “You walked your pathetic little ass in here and tried to ruin a good day. How dare you!?” She asked angrily, and I stared back at her in angry tears. I was embarrassed…beyond embarrassed. The announcement was live and everyone in the city was watching. Andreas was probably seeing this too. Shame coated my skin. I bowed my head in shame, what had I become? “I apologize.”Liora scoffed.
“Throw her out!” She ordered, and the guards grabbed me. This time I didn’t struggle, I couldn’t.
They threw me out at the gates as I fell to the floor roughly, I didn’t get up, I cried my eyes out. I finally got up, looked back at the house in tears, i clenched my fist in hate. Hate for Nikolai, for Liora, for myself for stopping so low as to come here. Every ounce of love that I felt was long gone.i looked at the ring on my finger, pulled it off and flung it as hard as I could.
I swore I’d make him regret it. I turned and made my way back to Andreas’s estate, as rage burned under my skin for Nikolai Marceli.Mirellas POVImmediately I walk through the door I find Tessa already waiting for me.“Finally!” She ran towards me, her face riddled with worry as she inspects my face and my body.“Tessa, What are you doing here?, how’d you get in?” I asked tiredly, I was too weak to show my surprise.“Andreas called to let me in, he called me on my way here and asked me, well ordered me to check on you.” She said absentmindedly as she kept inspecting me.“Andreas, Called you, why?” I asked as something small and almost unnoticeable blossomed at the pit of my stomach.“Why?, Why?!” Her voices going higher, “the whole city of belgrave knows why mirella…what were you thinking, how dare Nikolai not stand up for you, how dare she lay a hand on you! If I ever catch that bitch, her disgustingly pretty face would be not so pretty” Tessa raves on, but the only thing I picked out of it was.“Andreas saw it..?” I mean I knew he was bound to see it but.. I wasn’t ready for that reality. How was I going to look

Mirella's POV“Jaxon, he threw me out,” I sobbed into the phone, my voice barely audible over the rain hammering the roof of the cab. “He doesn’t want me anymore.”The driver's eyes flicked at me in the rearview mirror, his gaze was pitying, cautious, Then turned back to the road. I pressed my forehead against the cold window, watching the Belgrave skyline blur into streaks of light.“Slow down,” my brother’s voice came through, low and tight. “What the hell do you mean threw you out? Where are you?”“I, I don’t know,” I stammered. “I just left. I couldn’t stay there. He…he said he wants a divorce. Jax, he’s leaving me for Liora.”Silence. Then a hissed curse. “That son of a, Mirella, listen to me. I’m coming back tonight.”“No, no, you can’t.” I wiped my face with my sleeve. “You told me you have important meetings and conferences for the next day,““To hell with the conference!” he barked. Then his tone softened, breaking at the edges. “You’re crying, I can hear it. Little sister, I
Mirellas POV“Please, Nikolai…don’t do this, we can still fix this okay, I can forgive you and then we can go back to how it always was,” I whispered.“She’s pregnant Mirella,” he admits, not a morsel of guilt in his eyes, no warmth. The room went silent.Candlelight flickered between us, catching the reflection of my trembling hands. I opened my mouth but no sound came out. My heart pounded so loudly I could barely hear my own thoughts.“She’s what?” I finally whispered.“I’m pretty sure you heard me the first time.”Each word hit like a million arrows. My stomach twisted, my heart in practical pieces. “No, you, that can’t,“ I let out a shaky laugh. “Nikolai, we’ve, we’ve been trying for years..you said we’d go to the clinic again next month, you.. You promised me Nikolai.”His jaw clenched. “Exactly, we’ve been trying for years, enough is enough woman, this isn’t about that.”“Then what is it about?” I demanded, my voice breaking. “You promised me. You said we were in this together.

The scent of rosemary and butter floated through the air, I’d even put on his favorite silk dress.Tonight was supposed to be our night, After years of heartbreak, failed tests, and hospital visits.Tonight was the night I’d tell him I was pregnant.I’d imagined it so many times, his shocked grin, the way he’d pull me into his arms and kiss me, the laughter and brainstorming of baby names. I wanted to see him cry, just once, with joy instead of frustration. But the moment Nikolai stepped into the doorway, something felt off. His cologne filled the room, He dropped his keys into the silver dish by the door his movements sharp. He didn’t take off his jacket. He didn’t smile.
