Hurt

LILITH’S POV

I was watching my father with the utter shock, tears pooled in my eyes ready to cascade down. I glanced at my mom giving her an upset stare but she was not looking at me instead her eyes were glued to her mate, my father. Her face was covered with worries and somehow similar expressions like my father, disappointment on finding out who my mate is. There was a pang in my heart seeing my selfish parents only worrying about the safety of their pack and had no care of the emotions of their daughter when they know very well how sacred the mates are for all of us.

‘Hey, don’t cry Lilith’ Irene consoled me, she has been my best friend since the day she showed up and had always stood beside me.

‘The mate is with us, he wants us and will fight for us, look at him’ I raised my head to look at the tall and handsome man that was my mate and was sternly questioning my dad for his horrible demand, seeing him aggravated at the matter of rejecting us make me calm, it did make me shock though because I would understand his reason for rejecting me if he does that despite the pain I will feel. However, he was eager to accept us and won’t tolerate disrespect against us. My heart was beating loud, I feared that they all might hear but right now the situation was very tensed and they all were busy in glaring at each other.

I sighed, Irene was right our mate wants us, my lips stretched unintentionally in to a beautiful smile, but the moment couldn’t last for more when I saw him pressing his hand on my dad’s neck, my mom screamed yelling at the Alpha Caleb.

His hand raised holding my dad’s neck and lifting him up from the floor, he was trying to pull his hand by slapping his hand but my mate was way stronger and it did not even make him to budge until he himself did not loosen his grip and my dad fall on the floor coughing, my mom hurried to him and patted him on the back, the couple gave me that hatred glare as if that was my fault, when they should be ashamed of what they were doing to me these whole years and now.

‘If you are that much determined to claim my daughter as the Luna of Creek Star Pack, then I as the Alpha of the Greenwood Pack withdraws the deal of peace and support to each other. You can take my daughter and leave this pack, my warriors will accompany you to travel safely till our border after that you all are on your own’ I shook my head, I knows that they were disappointed with me for being a first daughter and having a weak wolf but today it revealed to me that they were not disappointed they hated me because they were not happy to find out about my mate and when my mate refused to reject me he cancels the deal which was imposed on them by council.

He was ready to take the wrath of the council but couldn’t see me happy, was he really my father. I questioned to Irene but found her sad to.

‘I am sorry Lilith, if only I would have shifted at that time, things might have been different’ she blamed her for their behavior, when she has to understand that it is not because of her that never wanted me at first place but then they could have left me in the hospital or have thrown me away why to bring me in this home and their life only to make my life miserable and hell.

My eyes darted to the man who was giving my father the deathly look, hatred filled on his face.

‘What a disgusting man you are Oberon. I am glad that we have no deal signed between us it had saved me seeing your ugly face in future, I appreciate your consideration’ his jaw was clenched and his eyes were flickering in light blue to brown color, showing the glimpse of his wolf.

‘Mate is very angry right now’ Irene whispered quietly and I hummed totally agreeing with her. My emotions were in chaos, I was feeling hurt due to the rude and hostility my own parents had showed towards me but I was overwhelmed on how he was arguing for me for our mate bond, my heart swelled at his care.

‘Noah, take your Luna and get in the car, I will be there shortly’ He gave a quick glance to me and shift his gaze to the men that had come with him, Noah nodded his head and came near to me.

‘Do you have anything to take with you Luna? I can help you in packing up’ a smile crept on my lips.

‘I have to pack my clothes and few things, it will be quick.’ I snapped my fingers happy to go to my mate, although we did not have talked to each other nor we introduced ourselves properly but I know that my mate is a good man, I can feel it through our mate bond and he will keep me content. I turned on my heels and left the room as fast as I can do, after fifteen minutes I was standing outside the pack house ready to leave with my mate to his pack.

My parents did not come out to say bye to me nor my only little brother Mason showed up. I chuckled bitterly, my eyes still welled up. It was not easy to leave a place where you have grown but I am glad, having zero percent of sadness because I was never loved here nor was respected and the only thing I received from Greenwood pack was humiliation.

‘Luna, please get in’ the young man in his twenties which was being called Ethan by Caleb opened the door for me, Noah already had taken my duffle bag and put it in the trunk of the car. I looked at the building behind me, a last look and exhaled a weary sigh.

As I get in to the car sitting beside my mate, Ethan sat on the passenger seat and Noah was on the driving, getting nod from his Alpha he started the engine and put the car on the road to Creek Star Pack.
