LOGINCALEB’S POV
I saw the sadness on her face very clear, she was definitely not expecting such a stupid demand from her own father. We all know that mates are important for us, they are meant to make us complete, despite our human side like them or not, yes I emphasized on the human side because our animal side only wants to love his mate no matter who is that, they don’t hold the grudges against their mates like us humans. I am not a good man, in fact I am considered as the most ruthless and cruel Alpha among all the packs in north and that is the solid reason for council to push me to shake hands with every pack in the north and I did gladly except for Oberon because other than being a killer of my father he is the nasty man who is very much self-obsessed and can become threat for other neighboring packs, I pity to the Greenwood pack for having such selfish Alpha. We Alpha’s are the leader of our pack and are meant to protect them like a father figure, we always put them first and then think about ourselves but here the case is totally opposite. I always wondered that why council never takes action against him, when he should be on the very top of their list named with threats to werewolves. I sighed and turned to glance at the petite figure of my mate, she was tall, not too tall but taller than the average girls and had a perfect body, with shoulder length straight light brown hair and light green eyes. She was still wearing the same outfit she does not bother to change when she went in to her room for packing the stuff. I agree that she looks cute in this outfit and her long legs were a treat for my eyes but I won’t allow any other man to have this privilege. She was tired or may be exhausted from the argument, because the moment car drove out of her pack she fast asleep resting her head on the back of the seat, she was uncomfortable as was occasionally changing her position. No matter I feel attraction to her or my heart crave for her, I won’t give up and submit my heart to her. She is the daughter of my most hated enemy, I cannot love her, never. I reminded to myself and vowed. ‘No, don’t act like a fool’ Kaden was quick to rebuke at me. ‘I am not acting like a fool’ I rolled my eyes at his possessiveness for his mate. ‘We waited for her to show up and when she did you are distancing yourself from her?’ I scoffed. ‘She is the daughter of Oberon, and didn’t you listen him. She hasn’t shifted yet.’ Kaden growled loudly in my mind, getting provoked. ‘Don’t you dare to even think about the mate as weak, she is not weak she is stronger, stronger than you can even think of. She just need the time’ I sneered inwardly. Looks like we both are going to have a fight over our mates, difference is Kaden is possessive and I don’t even care for her. ‘She told you that?’ I mocked him but his answer shocked me in return. ‘Yes, Irene had told me and I will not share it with you’ I arched my brow, now he is going to take sides? ‘Going against me won’t benefit you Kaden’ I reminded him, need to keep the animal inside me in his limits. ‘Huh, look who is talking. Actually Caleb, you will be the one in loss. If I denied to shift when you need the most and leaves you in vulnerable state in front of the enemy, then huh? Think what will happen?’ I took a moment to think, because the picture he sketched in front of my eyes was scary and I shook my head in response. ‘We both will die!’ me and Kaden both said together, means he also give a thought to what he had just said. ‘See, we both need each other and we should not fight over the mate’ I suggested him but he did not approve. ‘Our mate is sweet and innocent Caleb. She will be the wonderful Luna of our pack. They all will love her and you will find out how strong she is’ I exhaled a sigh, he was stubborn. ‘When I said I am rejecting her, I even fought to that bastard. She will be the Luna of Creek Star Pack but we will not mate with her. She will be marked as well but mating not possible’ I straightly refused to him. ‘It will break our mates heart Caleb. She is already suffering too much because of her parents and old pack. Her expectation from you are too much’ Kaden tried to convinced me. The way he was talking looks like they both had already catch up with the mate bond and discussed the crucial matters with each other. Wow’ I groaned causing everyone in the car to jolt up. Even Lilith also woke up and now she was staring me with her sleepy eyes. ‘I am sorry, I was caught up with some matters’ I apologized because Noah and Ethan were giving me disapproving look seeing their Luna’s slumber got disturb because of their Alpha. ‘Luna looks tired Caleb, let her sleep until we reach. We have a long journey anyways’ Noah’s voice echoed in my mind through our link and I huffed in annoyance. All of them were worried for their Luna, does this not matter to them that her father killed their old Alpha and how difficult it was for my mom and their Luna to run the pack all alone hiding her pain of losing the mate. I looked at the sky, it was complete dark and the howling of wolves from the neighboring packs could be heard, perhaps they were out for the running but it was safe until they do not cross their borders, thanks to our wolf sight we were able to see the warriors of those packs making their rounds to ensure there is no threat to the pack. Since the Rogues have gone brave enough to attack on the packs wholly many lives are lost and the packs are being very cautious and not easily arrange the large gatherings but in this packs it looks some sort of a happy moment that they have keep the threat aside and were having fun, the number of warriors standing at the border was good. ‘What the hell, don’t they know of the rogue’s attacks?’ Ethan muttered, Noah and I agreed to him but well such things are every packs personal matter and we cannot interfere nor give advice specially when is not asked for. Our car passed by their border, the warriors watched us but since we were no threat they turned their heads back. The distance was not long that we covered when we heard the growls, not a one or two it was a group. ‘Oh shit. Caleb, there is a group of rogues coming towards us’ my eyes squinted to see the group approaching us and then I watched my mate, she was still sleeping soundly. ‘Park the car on the side. Noah, you stay with her, not at any cost you will leave her alone, otherwise I don’t have to tell you what will happen to you’ My voice was stern and held the authority, Noah immediately submitted to my command and I opened the door hoping out, taking no time to shift giving charge to Kaden.CALEB’S POVMy eyes drifting from her face to the doctor Peter’s hand who was inserting the small needle in her veins. He injected a medicine which helped to get her shift in her human form and Margaret helped putting her clothes on. I was biting the pad of my thumb anxiously, it is second time she has been conscious after her shift, and it would be her second shift.‘Will she faint every time she shifts?’ I asked Doctor Peter, the question itself sounds absurd, but I have been noticing forced me to ask him despite how it sounds.‘It’s not like that, Alpha; she faints because of weakness. I have injected the IV, it will help her gain some strength and I will send a diet plan, please ensure she follows it.’ My brows knitted and I shouted at Ethan and Noah.‘Don’t you keep checking on your Luna? How come she wasn’t eating properly and none of your were aware or informed me?’ they flinched at my yelling, no daring to raise their heads or give any explanation.‘Sorry Alpha, we will be car
CALEB’S POVI slumped down on my chair, today was a rough day. I always hate to take car rides; we are forced to take long routes when we can make our ways from short routes but well, we have upgraded ourselves and shifting for every task is considered foolishness.I was planning to take shower, but I needed to talk to Lilith first, I am assuming she has reached out to Hazel and might have any update for me. I feel bad to doubt my Beta and his mate, but rogues are never meant to be trusted, and I strongly believe in it.I was tapping my foot anxiously on the floor and glanced at my watch. Fifteen minutes had already passed but Lilith hasn’t come to my office nor Noah, I hope they both have again not got into gossip. Until I found my mate, I never knew Noah was gossip lover, but I think he is just like that with his Luna, because with me he never gossiped.‘What’s taking them so much time?’ I groaned, being an Alpha, I had got this habit in me to never wait, I want my order to be fulfi
CALEB’S POVI was heading back to my pack after having a long meeting with Uncle Victor. He is one of the prominent figures of council members and a good friend of my dad, apart from this he is the most senior person in the council at the moment. He has been very cooperative and supportive to me after dad died, helping me out in Alpha training, guiding me with challenges that are normal for Alphas and giving advice from his wisdom. I will always be grateful to him for his kindness and time he spent with me.He was the first one, who raised a concern of rogues in the council and gathered all of us Alphas of pack to come and make alliance to support each other at times of any attack by packs, however, I think none of them has taken this idea or mandatory agreement serious except me.Today my meeting with Uncle Victor was especially for this purpose, I recalled how my neighboring packs didn’t cooperate with me when rogue’s attack was directed through their border and I am looking forward
LILITH’S POVIt was the first time after our first shift, that I gave control to Irene letting her shift and run into the forest. My meetup with my old pack members went very well, though I have my concerns over having a witch in pack, I was assured by Margaret that she is not a threat for us and instead having her can be a great help. I struggled to understand how she could be of help to us, anyways I didn’t argue and decided to wait for Caleb to make decision. If meeting with my members was a joyful moment, it brings the painful memory of losing our parents to rogue’s attack brought a moment where I revived my promise to take revenge for our loss, at that moment I realized that I am lacking in many ways and my thoughts started to distort.Irene instantly felt my discomfort and offered the help, trusting her as always, I let her to come out after we came to back side of pack house. I have watched members shifting and running to the forest, always claiming that it helps them sort out
THIRD PERSON’S POVIt was the location of famous club in human city, the inside was packed with youngsters dancing on the floor, waiters serving drinks on the tables at surrounding and DJ frequently changing music to create a rhythm, encouraging them to match their steps on beat of music. Lightening was worst, darkness dominating the place making it difficult for anyone to recognize the face of opposite person unless they are very close.First floor was designed for VIP rooms and suites; elite community of city prebooked to entertain their clients or have private space for their own party. The suite on the corner of right corridor was locked up after drinks were served to them, a confidential meeting was going on right now.‘It’s fourth time’ one man in black dinner suit remarked, picking up his glass after pouring another glass for himself. The tension in room was thick, smell of cigar, wine filling up the air.‘I never assumed him to be that strong’ the man seated on the single couc
LILITH’S POV‘Luna?’ As I entered the hospital, I was greeted by the receptionist. She bowed her head to show me respect, but I found it too much, I know, that’s how we all give respect to our Alphas and Lunas, but I kind of never liked it. They equally play their role in keeping the pack sustained and strong, it is not just our effort. I remember last time I also asked Doctor Peter to not do that; I am fine with greeted by a soft smile I don’t have much pride.‘Hi Alice’ I waved my hand and asked her about Hazel.‘Oh, she is in emergency room. We were not expecting her to be so good with medical equipment’s’ my brows knitted, she isn’t doctor. As far I remember, recalling our conversation about her, she never mentioned she was becoming doctor.I lead my way to the emergency room, after me and Caleb have our doubts about her, I am considering her a threat to the pack and having her in hospital and in emergency room was a concerning point for me. An acquaintance of rogue learning about
