CALEB’S POV

I saw the sadness on her face very clear, she was definitely not expecting such a stupid demand from her own father. We all know that mates are important for us, they are meant to make us complete, despite our human side like them or not, yes I emphasized on the human side because our animal side only wants to love his mate no matter who is that, they don’t hold the grudges against their mates like us humans.

I am not a good man, in fact I am considered as the most ruthless and cruel Alpha among all the packs in north and that is the solid reason for council to push me to shake hands with every pack in the north and I did gladly except for Oberon because other than being a killer of my father he is the nasty man who is very much self-obsessed and can become threat for other neighboring packs, I pity to the Greenwood pack for having such selfish Alpha. We Alpha’s are the leader of our pack and are meant to protect them like a father figure, we always put them first and then think about ourselves but here the case is totally opposite.

I always wondered that why council never takes action against him, when he should be on the very top of their list named with threats to werewolves.

I sighed and turned to glance at the petite figure of my mate, she was tall, not too tall but taller than the average girls and had a perfect body, with shoulder length straight light brown hair and light green eyes. She was still wearing the same outfit she does not bother to change when she went in to her room for packing the stuff. I agree that she looks cute in this outfit and her long legs were a treat for my eyes but I won’t allow any other man to have this privilege.

She was tired or may be exhausted from the argument, because the moment car drove out of her pack she fast asleep resting her head on the back of the seat, she was uncomfortable as was occasionally changing her position. No matter I feel attraction to her or my heart crave for her, I won’t give up and submit my heart to her. She is the daughter of my most hated enemy, I cannot love her, never. I reminded to myself and vowed.

‘No, don’t act like a fool’ Kaden was quick to rebuke at me.

‘I am not acting like a fool’ I rolled my eyes at his possessiveness for his mate.

‘We waited for her to show up and when she did you are distancing yourself from her?’ I scoffed.

‘She is the daughter of Oberon, and didn’t you listen him. She hasn’t shifted yet.’ Kaden growled loudly in my mind, getting provoked.

‘Don’t you dare to even think about the mate as weak, she is not weak she is stronger, stronger than you can even think of. She just need the time’ I sneered inwardly. Looks like we both are going to have a fight over our mates, difference is Kaden is possessive and I don’t even care for her.

‘She told you that?’ I mocked him but his answer shocked me in return.

‘Yes, Irene had told me and I will not share it with you’ I arched my brow, now he is going to take sides?

‘Going against me won’t benefit you Kaden’ I reminded him, need to keep the animal inside me in his limits.

‘Huh, look who is talking. Actually Caleb, you will be the one in loss. If I denied to shift when you need the most and leaves you in vulnerable state in front of the enemy, then huh? Think what will happen?’ I took a moment to think, because the picture he sketched in front of my eyes was scary and I shook my head in response.

‘We both will die!’ me and Kaden both said together, means he also give a thought to what he had just said.

‘See, we both need each other and we should not fight over the mate’ I suggested him but he did not approve.

‘Our mate is sweet and innocent Caleb. She will be the wonderful Luna of our pack. They all will love her and you will find out how strong she is’ I exhaled a sigh, he was stubborn.

‘When I said I am rejecting her, I even fought to that bastard. She will be the Luna of Creek Star Pack but we will not mate with her. She will be marked as well but mating not possible’ I straightly refused to him.

‘It will break our mates heart Caleb. She is already suffering too much because of her parents and old pack. Her expectation from you are too much’ Kaden tried to convinced me. The way he was talking looks like they both had already catch up with the mate bond and discussed the crucial matters with each other. Wow’ I groaned causing everyone in the car to jolt up. Even Lilith also woke up and now she was staring me with her sleepy eyes.

‘I am sorry, I was caught up with some matters’ I apologized because Noah and Ethan were giving me disapproving look seeing their Luna’s slumber got disturb because of their Alpha.

‘Luna looks tired Caleb, let her sleep until we reach. We have a long journey anyways’ Noah’s voice echoed in my mind through our link and I huffed in annoyance. All of them were worried for their Luna, does this not matter to them that her father killed their old Alpha and how difficult it was for my mom and their Luna to run the pack all alone hiding her pain of losing the mate.

I looked at the sky, it was complete dark and the howling of wolves from the neighboring packs could be heard, perhaps they were out for the running but it was safe until they do not cross their borders, thanks to our wolf sight we were able to see the warriors of those packs making their rounds to ensure there is no threat to the pack. Since the Rogues have gone brave enough to attack on the packs wholly many lives are lost and the packs are being very cautious and not easily arrange the large gatherings but in this packs it looks some sort of a happy moment that they have keep the threat aside and were having fun, the number of warriors standing at the border was good.

‘What the hell, don’t they know of the rogue’s attacks?’ Ethan muttered, Noah and I agreed to him but well such things are every packs personal matter and we cannot interfere nor give advice specially when is not asked for.

Our car passed by their border, the warriors watched us but since we were no threat they turned their heads back. The distance was not long that we covered when we heard the growls, not a one or two it was a group.

‘Oh shit. Caleb, there is a group of rogues coming towards us’ my eyes squinted to see the group approaching us and then I watched my mate, she was still sleeping soundly.

‘Park the car on the side. Noah, you stay with her, not at any cost you will leave her alone, otherwise I don’t have to tell you what will happen to you’ My voice was stern and held the authority, Noah immediately submitted to my command and I opened the door hoping out, taking no time to shift giving charge to Kaden.

CALEB’S POV‘You should have called me’ I was informed of arrival of Uncle Victor by my Patrol team. I was surprised, he did say that we will have the next meeting soon, but I wasn’t hoping it to be at my office and that soon, anyways, I rushed to greet him at the door, simultaneously alerting Ethan and Noah to get a good dinner prepared for him, he isn’t going without dinner with us.I shook hands with him while complaining that he should have informed me, I would have personally come to greet him on the border, and he wouldn’t have to go through the hustle of checking.‘It feels good visiting this pack after a long time, the air is still same, misty, filled with scent of sand and forest.’ He inhaled deeply and smiled. A sad smile made its way on my lips. He was talking about days when he frequently visits dad.‘Alexander would be proud of you,’ he patted me on the shoulders, and I lightly bowed my head, accepting his appreciation.‘I am trying my best to run the pack as my dad did,’

  • Tale of the White Wolf   Apologize

LILITH’S POVI was looking for Harper everywhere in the packhouse. I confirmed by the people working on ground floor that she hasn’t left the pack house, which means she is here, but I can’t see her. I entered the kitchen, it was last place remained, I twitched my lips when I found the kitchen empty, I was turning when my gaze fell on the window, I squinted my eyes and walked towards the door which is used as shortcut to go in the backyard.‘You’re here? I was looking you inside’ I slumped down on small hill beside her. She was staring at the sky, lost in her thoughts, not aware of her surroundings at all. She was startled by my presence and hung her head low, averting her gaze. I took my lower lip between my teeth and exhaled a frustrating sigh, our encounters before today were never pleasant, and for today I don’t know yet what will happen, however, by her hunched back and lower shoulders, distant gaze I hope

  • Tale of the White Wolf   She is Stupid

CALEB’S POVI watched my mate leaving the room, once door closed and we were both left I motioned for him to sit.‘Want some drink?’ I asked casually, while picking the bottle from the cornered shelf and started to pour for myself.‘No, thank you for asking Alpha’ he was formal, at distant and tense, I scrutinized his expressions and could tell his mind was still on his mate, Harper. I poured two glasses of wine and placed one in front of him, he was surprised to see, and I know he wanted to refuse again but I stopped him.‘Drink it, you need to lose’ he exhaled a weary sigh and picked the glass, a man who was denying to drink now gulped down whole content in one go, he shut his eyes and flinch at the bitter taste, I chuckled.‘You shouldn’t have gulped in once, it tastes bitter’ I motioned towards the glass in my hand, while taking a small sip, I was more in swirling the content then drinking it, it sometimes helps you to keep your mind focused on one thing.‘This bitterness is nothi

  • Tale of the White Wolf   Willow

WILLOW’S POVI was running in the forest, intended to get as far as I could get from the pack house. Tears falling from my eyes, the pain was unbearable, fear consuming every part of my body.I knew he was right; he is my mate. I knew the moment I stepped into the room, but I had no good hope from him, how I could have, when my parents abandoned me because of who I am, why would he accept me. I didn’t panic, I controlled myself and pretended as if he didn’t exist, Isaac’s presence helped a lot and I rushed to hug him, but I think, it was mistake on my part, I mistakenly ignited his jealousy or we could say male ego and he came in action instantly and the secret I was holding or probably he was too, blew up in front of so many people, specially the Alpha and Luna and now granny will tell them my story.I fell on my knees, my feet hurt but most importantly my heart was weeping quietly, my energy draining.I still remember the day when granny handed me over an old, folded paper. My life

  • Tale of the White Wolf   Abandoned

LILITH’S POVI chuckled, even in this very tense moment I can’t keep myself from laughing lightly at the reaction of my mate.I can tell what was going on in his mind, I am surprised too by this coincidence but don’t react openly like him.‘Relax! You can’t control who become whose mate’ I whispered to him, running my hand on his arm, and his muscles lose under my touch. I was glad about the progress of our relation, the night he marked me willingly was the most beautiful and will remain memorable night for me, although he stopped going far, I didn’t mind, he needed the time. Whatever is making him reluctant to accept our bond, I have decided to give him a time and wait patiently for him to come back to me.‘I am not Hybrid; I am witch only’ my focus was on my mate when Willow’s high pitched tone forced me to look at her with astonishment. She has pulled out her hand from Noah’s grasp, she doesn’t seem fine, like she would go in panic mode anytime.‘Nor am I your mate’ her eyes turnin

  • Tale of the White Wolf   Not Again!

CALEB’S POV‘We have to send our spies in those packs; they need to find out what the pack members think of the death of their last Alpha and their reviews about current Alpha’‘How would it help us to track rogues?’ Lilith questioned.‘As I said there is high chances that those Beta’s were persuaded to betray their Alphas, so there is likely the rogue leader behind all this. We need to find more common things that had happened in those packs before and after death of those Alphas. Maybe, that rogue leader visits often those packs’ their was a deep silence in the room, everyone was processing my words, even I was also doing reworking of my plan in my mind, ensuring I was not leaving in any loop that could cost us heavily in coming days.‘How long should it take?’ Ethan asked.‘Not more than a week. I want reports on all these packs on my tables by next Thursday, staying longer could make us suspicious’‘Noted, leave this on me. I will assign the teams and keep you updated with progres
