Elvira had no idea what she was doing. Her mind was controlled by emotions. Losing her father all of a sudden, as she had never expected, made her whole mind go numb from pain. Her heart is covered with fury, hatred, and disgust towards Lain. She wanted nothing but to hurt him as much as she could. Slapping Lain hard across his face again in front of everyone inside the mansion, Elvira grabbed him by his shirt. She couldn’t reach to grab the collar of his shirt because he was a lot taller than her.
“Is this your way to get a woman? After killing her father? Is this it?” she asked, looking into his eyes. She couldn’t stop her tears. There were no words for her to describe how hurt she was. Her father is gone.. She still couldn’t believe it. Everything felt like a worst nightmare, but unfortunately, that was not just a nightmare but the reality. Lain’s emerald orbs stared into hers, and then he clenched his jaws. His eyes were emotionless and scary as he stared at her.
“Umay, don’t test my patience! I’ve been so good to you and don’t make me that blood sucking animal you said by provoking my patiences” his words were way too dangerous as it made everyone who presented there feel fear. Elvira’s heart tightened, and fear took over her hearing him. Not only that, his eyes were glowing with savage fire as he uttered those words. Elvira stared at him for a while and moved her hands away from his shirt before lowering her head.
“I... need to stay here. Without my father, these people are left alone. I can’t abandon them. After all, I have the responsibility for them. Please, just let me stay here. I need to live here from now on. I can’t go with you,” Elvira muttered honestly. She didn’t want to go back with him. Now her father is gone, and this pack has no leader. A pack without a leader means that so many dangerous things could happen to the innocent people who live here. People from outside would try to own this pack and control it. She couldn’t let that thing happen, and she would never.
“You will not! You can’t leave me! You should go home with me in a while,” Walking past her, Lain said. Elvira’s heart sank. She stayed, lowering her head for a while and wiping her tears as she turned and looked at Lain to see that he was looking at her father, who was lying in the coffin. Elvira scanned Lain’s face, wanting to see if he at least was regretting what he did, but she saw nothing. His face was emotionless and held no regret or anything else.
“If I knew that you were this week, I wouldn't have hit you that hard. This is not my fault, Seamus, you lied to me, knowing that I hate lies the most! You didn’t have to hide her from me. You knew what kind of man I am but yet you chose this. Now, rest in peace! I will have your daughter and treat her better.” Lain said, looking at the dead Seamus, and turned to Elvria, who was covering her face while sobbing.
“Time to go,” stepping towards her, he said. Elvira shook her head furiously and looked at him. She didn’t want to leave. How can she leave her father like this? She didn’t want to leave him. How can she forget the bond she had ever since she was born to this world and leave him here all alone? Elvira felt like killing herself because of what happened. She didn’t want to live with her father’s killer!
“I don’t.. I don’t want to leave.. I can’t leave him…. Just let me be! You leave here! This is our pack!” she said. She was not going to leave here. This is her home. The place where she was born and raised. How can she bear to leave this place? Lain stopped in front of her and eyed her for a while. Elvira would do anything to stay here without going with him. She didn’t want to! Her heart had turned completely cold as she looked at him.
“I’m not gonna repeat myself again! Come!” he said. Elvira nodded at him, giving a complacent smile to his face. Then they walked out of the mansion. While following him, Elvira looked around her. Clutching her dress tightly, she again moved his eyes and glared at Lain, who was walking in front of her while looking ahead. She felt he was not paying attention to her as he walked. Taking that opportunity, Elvira immediately turned and ran as fast as she could towards the forest, wanting to escape.
She knew a place where she could hide. She was sure that Lain would never be able to find her there. So she wanted to get into that place and hide. Running as fast as she couldn’t she slowly turned her head and looked behind her, but to her surprise, Lain was not following her. Her heart was covered with relief, she took that encouragement to run even faster. Running into the deep forest, Elvira hid inside a cave in a trunk of a tree. The tree was hidden from a person’s view, so she was not scared.
It was already night when she hid there. She could see the moon in the middle of the sky, and moonlight fell on her, giving her light to see around. She sighed and hugged her knees, sitting there while burying her face. She was thinking that she could escape from him. As she stayed there for a few minutes, the light of the moon was blocked as she felt someone's silhouette. Elvira slowly lifted her head and looked up to see Lain, who was looking at her with his lips pressed together.
Her heart sank seeing him. Unknown tears appeared in her eyes. How? How did he find her? She asked herself, looking at him with fear and disbelief. She didn’t know what to do or how to escape from him again. Biting her lips helplessly, she stared at him. After a few minutes, Lain finally sighed and spoke.
“How dumb you are to think your tiny legs would help you to escape from me? And this cave! Never hide in places like this. It’s really useless,” grabbing her from her arm and pulling her out of the cave, Lain pronounced. Elvira looked at his face and then slapped his hand away. She didn’t want him to touch her. Her first attempt had gone to waste, and she was so hurt! This man is a real curse! She thought, looking at Lain’s annoyingly handsome face.
“Let’s go. You are making things so hard, princess.” Wrapping his arm around her waist, he pulled her to him and walked holding her. Elvira couldn’t help but feel defeated. She felt that she was caught in a spider web where the spider was so dangerous and tricky. The more she struggled to escape, the more she would get entangled in his arms. Taking her back, Lain opened the door of the jeep for her and waited until she got in. After that, he also got into the jeep and sat.
Elvira couldn’t help but look at her home with tears in her eyes. Only she knew how painful it was and how hard it was for her to leave like this while her father was lying in a coffin there. Her heart was brutally ripped apart, she felt that her life had turned empty with her father’s death. After a while, Lain’s beta got into the passenger seat of the jeep and looked back at Lain with a small nod.
Elvira’s eyes suddenly turned sharp. Where was he all the time? She didn’t see Alec after going there. Did he do something else? She felt suspicious, and then she looked at Lain, who was looking ahead with calm eyes. She couldn’t endure his silence. She felt he had done something unwanted in her house.
“What did you do? Did you do anything unwanted?” she aimed the question at Lain angrily. He turned his head and glared at her before shaking his head and looking out of the window. Seeing his response, she didn’t want to talk to him anymore. She looked out of the window as the jeep started to move forward. While looking outside, she couldn’t help but recall the time she spent with her father. Her eyes subconsciously reddened, and tears rolled down once again.
She still can’t believe the fact that he’s gone. She couldn’t understand how fast the night changed everything about her life. She was taken away by a man, and that man was simply the Blood alpha. The scariest man alive. She didn’t know how to survive in her territory. While thinking about her father, she suddenly started to think about her mother. Her father had joined her mother, leaving her alone in this world. She couldn’t endure that pain. She wanted her parents. She loved them so much.
How can she continue living with this man? She didn’t like him. She didn’t like him at all because he killed her father! She needed to escape. She would not give up on escaping from him until she became successful. Turning her head, she took a glance at Lain, who was looking out of the window on his side while resting his palm against his chin while supporting his hand against the door.
He looked calm and nonchalant. He looked as if he had done nothing wrong. There was no apology or guilt in his eyes, which made her furious. Shouldn’t he be guilty of killing her father for nothing? Elvira’s mind started to remind her of the way that he had hit her father last night. He was so brutal. Anger rose inside of her chest, but controlling herself, she looked away from him and closed her eyes, leaning her head against the window.
She wanted to have a good sleep and forget all the pain she was feeling right now. Even though she knew that it was such an impossible thing, she wanted to try. She wanted to be relaxed. Staying like that, she fell asleep unknowingly.
“No, brother Lain. Can we talk alone? I need to tell you about something that happened.” Elvira’s eyes sharpened. What is she going to talk about? Not her, Elvira should be the one to talk about what happened. She still didn’t tell Lain about anything because she didn’t want him to feel stressed. Watching Sasha’s fake emotions-filled face, Elvira scoffed as she finished her orange and took another one from the plate. Then she started to eat it while looking at Sasha. “What do you need to tell him? About the slap you gave me? Look at my cheek! She slapped me early in the morning because I made you not eat what she cooked.” Elvira’s words stunned Lain. Lain’s pupils contracted, and he immediately moved as he turned Elvira and looked at her cheek to see that it was slightly reddened. His heart started to hammer against his chest. Fury took over him as he turned to Sash, who was looking at him with tear-filled eyes. “What the fuck? Sasha? You slapped her?” Gripping her shoulders tightly
“Guest? I’m not the guest here, you are! I have stayed here before, and I know brother Lain more than anyone else! He was so close to me,” Sasha barked at Elvira. Elvira felt angry, but she decided not to start an argument. As Elvira tried to go upstairs, Sasha stopped her again. Elvira sighed and turned to Sasha. As soon as she turned to Sasha, a ruthless slap fell on her cheek, making her heart freeze on the spot. Elvira slowly moved her hand and touched her face as she looked at Sasha. “Why did you hit me?” Elvira's eyes had completely turned cold. Sasha’s heart shook seeing Elvira’s eyes. She couldn’t help but think that Elvira was so similar to Lain with the way she looked at her. After staying with him for so long, Elvira had changed. She had changed according to Lain. Elvira stared at the way Sasha was looking. She couldn’t help but feel furious inside of her. Elvira’s wolf was growling inside of her, wanting to pull Sasha’s hair and slap her hard across her face.“Hit you?..
Elvira woke up early in the morning. Sitting up on the bed, she looked at Lain, who was still sleeping. Without waking him up, she slowly got down from the bed and stepped towards the washroom. She brushed her teeth and washed her face before going downstairs. Lain asked her to make breakfast for him, so she was going to make it. As she entered the washroom, Elvira suddenly stopped seeing Shasha, who was inside the kitchen while making breakfast. Elvira’s eyes turned cold seeing Sasha.“What are you doing?” Elvira stepped towards her and asked while looking at the vegetables on the kitchen counter. What the hell is this woman doing? As she asked, Sasha turned to Elvira and raised her eyebrows in a cold manner before letting out a small smirk, which made Elvira’s heart fill with so many annoying thoughts. She stared at Sasha for a while and again moved her eyes through the kitchen before clutching her nightdress. She didn’t want to cook with this woman inside here. “Can’t you see? I’m
“I’m not upset…” Elvira mumbled, looking at Lain. Lain could see that she was not in a good mood, and he knew it was because of Sasha. Sasha was also the same age as Elvira, and Lain didn’t mind letting her stay here for a few weeks because at least Elvira could make a friend and chat whenever she was bored. Caressing her face, he wrapped his arm around her waist, and fell on the bed with Elvira on his chest. “You can be friends with her. You won’t feel bored, Umay.” he kissed her forehead and uttered. Elvira looked into Lain’s emerald eyes and looked away. She didn’t want to be friends with that girl. Most importantly, she didn’t trust the girl because she felt Sasha was into Lain. Which woman would not like a man like Lain? After being with him, she could clearly understand why all the women drooled after him, even if they knew that he was a total beast when it came to everything. “I don’t want friends..” she said as she moved away from Lain’s body and lay on the bed next to him.
“Umay, don’t ever let anyone find this place.” While lying on the grass looking up at the beautiful star-filled night sky, Lain muttered. Elvira was lying next to Lain while resting her head on his arm. She was also looking up at the beautiful sky while moving her eyes through the stars, seeking constellation patterns. Upon hearing Lain’s words, she moved her head and looked at his face. He was looking at the sky with a calm expression on his face. She felt so upset to hear his words like this. “I won’t tell anyone about this place.. Won’t you be here to see if I would tell anyone about this place or not?” she asked him. He turned his face to her and looked into her eyes for so long. His emerald orbs moved through her face, and Elvria could see the possessiveness in his eyes. He was so possessive over her, he wanted her, and he simply wanted to spend the rest of his years with her in his arms. “I will be there….” With a small smile, he uttered. Elvira nodded at him and moved her eye
Lain stopped the jeep in front of the beach. Looking around, he got out of the jeep and came to Elvira’s side and opened the door for her. Getting out of the car, Elvira looked at the beach. The cold wind kissed her body, making a shiver run down her spine. Goosebumps appeared on her skin. She didn’t expect him to take her to the beach, so she even wore a short dress. But she was glad that he took her here. Wrapping her arms around herself, she took a few steps ahead. Instantly, the coldness in her body faded as she felt a comfortable warmth against her body. She stopped and looked at Lain, who had just covered her with his jacket. “It’s okay for you to wear these dresses when you are with me, but if you ever have to be alone without me, just don’t wear these kinds of dresses which reveal too much of your skin,” Lain uttered, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her to him. Elvira looked up at him. She was confused. Watching his face for a while, not knowing why he would sa
