Chapter 6

“This is not a natural death! Stop talking nonsense. You clearly killed him! How dare you try to say those things now?” Elvira was struggling in Lain’s arms as she used every bit of her strength to get free from him, but she couldn’t do it because Lain was ridiculously strong. Without saying anything, Lain picked Elvira up and stepped upstairs. While he was taking her with him, Elvira lowered her head and bit his shoulder so hard until the blood taste spread everywhere through her mouth. 

Elvira immediately stopped what she was doing, feeling the blood scent and taste. Even if she bit him so hard, Lain said nothing or did nothing. He just calmly took her into the room, closing the door behind him with one leg. Placing her on the bed, he looked at her. Elvira grasped the bedsheet tightly, looking at him. Her eyes never stopped letting out tears. She was still dazed after hearing that terrible news. 

“Let me go! I need to go back to my pack! I am not your mate. Why can’t you just understand it? Why so cruel?” Elvia questioned him. Her words made Lain’s eyes turn bloodshot. He would endure everything she says, but he would never endure it when she says that she was not his mate. He can fucking feel her scent and every bond between then but she’s kept denying it.

“I told you, Umay! Don’t fucking lie to me! If I can fucking feel you as my mate, why can’t you just feel it huh? The more you try to tell me that I’m not your mate, the more I will be touching you, okay?” He uttered emotionlessly. Elvira stared at him for a few seconds and then stood up from the bed before pushing him away from her. How the hell is he telling that he’s her mate while she felt nothing for him? It’s ridiculous! 

“I am not afraid of you! You have done the worst thing you could do already! So I am telling you that we are not mates! You’ve made a mistake!” Her voice was strict and fearless. A cold smirk appeared on Lian’s face looking at her. He felt angry, he had endured her attitude so much already. No one had ever treated him like this, and no one had ever dared to shout at him or push him away like she just did. 

“I see, you don’t want to go and bid your father farewell! Alright! I don’t give a fuck! I was thinking about taking you there, but not anymore.” Abandoning that statement, he turned to leave. His words affected Elvira so badly that her heart started to pound against her chest with both pain and anger. Clutching the dress she was wearing so tightly, she parted her lips and spoke. 

“Take me.. there. I need to see him.. Please,” she said. Upon hearing her words, Lain chuckled and turned to her. She looked miserable, and she looked so hurt. She was looking at him with tears in her eyes. Soon, she broke into loud sobbing, looking into his eyes. Pressing his lips together, Lain watched her cries before stepping towards her and pulling her to a hug. He hugged her against his chest so tightly, he patted her head gently, and rested his chin on her head. 

How can she claim that he was not her mate? He could feel her heartbeat, he could feel the pain against his chest because she was in pain. He could feel her emotions right now because she was so sad. Thinking about it, Lain’s eyes slowly darkened as he felt something was not right with her. She was saying that he was not her mate, but the truth was different. He was her mate for sure but she failed to have the same feelings inside of her as him. 

“Please… take me there.. I need to see my father..” Lain felt his shirt getting soaked by her tears. His heart somewhat ached, he sighed and patted her head before breaking the hug. Her face was pale, and her eyes were dangerously reddened because of crying. Gazing at her for a while, he clenched his jaws. He wanted to take her there, but at the same time, he didn’t want to do so either. He was lost in between two decisions. Taking her there would make her even cry, but if he didn’t let her go, she would hate him even more. 

“Wear something else and come down,” he said as he turned and walked out of the room. Coming to the living room, he looked at Alec, who lowered his head, seeing him coming. Stepping towards him, Lain spoke. His mind was a mess, and he needed to confirm some things before everything. 

“We are going to the Night Moon pack now.  Once we are there, you need to go to Alpha Seamus’s room or study room and check if there’s anything suspicious. I don’t trust that fucker, even if he’s dead” Lain’s words were clear to Alec. nodding at Lain, Alec looked at his shoulder to see that he was bleeding. 

“Alpha, you are bleeding!” Alec said. Lain slightly moved his head and looked at his shoulder to see blood. Even though he ignored her, Elvira had bitten him so hard and deep. But he didn’t want to blame her because he could understand the mood that she was having right now. He had experienced the pain of losing someone he loved dearly, and without a limit, so he would never ever try to blame her for what she did. She simply lost her mind after knowing that her father was dead. 

“Doesn’t matter, just take me something to clean it,” sitting up on the sofa, he said. Without waiting, Alec walked away and came with a wound cleaning bottle. Taking it, Lain poured half of it on his wound and sighed as he felt the pain. But that pain was something he could not endure. He had gone through way too dangerous pain than this. Not long after, he saw Elvira coming down wearing a black dress. Seeing her coming, Lain got up from the sofa and stepped towards the door of the house. 

Getting into the jeep, he looked at Elvira, who was staring outside the window with tears in her eyes. He didn’t say anything or try to talk to her; he simply closed his eyes and rested the back of his head against the seat as the jeep moved forward rapidly. While he was closing his eyes, his heart started to ache, remembering something that left his heart in pain all the time. 

“Lain… are you angry at my mommy?” his head was suppressed by an adorable childish voice. At the same time, he remembered her face when she asked him that question. Looking at him, she pouted. Lain’s heart softened, and he shook his head and patted her head. Even though he was angry at her mother, he didn’t want to show it to her. 

“You are so good.. Let’s go to see the waterfall?” she asked him. Lain watched her face for a while and shook his head. He didn’t want to go anywhere, he just wanted to stay alone for some time. He wanted to relax his mind. Seeing him shaking his head, her face turned to something sad. She immediately got up from the ground and looked at him while clutching her beautiful yellow frock. She looked like a princess in that dress, as it was her favorite one. 

“Alright.. I know you are upset, but it’s okay. I’m going home. We can go there tomorrow,” she muttered. Lain chuckled and nodded at her. He had never let her go anywhere alone, but on that day, he let her go alone because he was not in the mood to go anywhere. Then she kissed his cheek and jogged away from him as he stared in the direction she left until she disappeared from his sight. 

“LAIN!!!! Where is Natalia?” 

Lain’s eyes snapped open, remembering his father’s voice. He took a few deep breaths and turned his head, looking at Elvira, who was still looking out of the window. A piercing pain spread through his chest, reminding him of the past. He couldn’t help but clench his jaws angrily. He was the one at fault. He didn’t know.. He never expected something like that to happen to her. He still regrets letting Natalia go alone that day. He had to take her home by himself instead of letting her go alone!

After some time, the jeep stopped in front of the Night Moon pack. As soon as the jeep was stopped, Elvira pushed open the door and jumped down from the jeep as she ran towards the pack. Seeing her, Lain gritted his teeth and exited the jeep as he walked there. When he entered the mansion, he heard Elvira’s cries. She was crying with her heart out. Lain went there to see that she was hugging Seamus’s body, which was lying in a coffin, as she screamed with pain in her heart. 

“Dad…. wake up…. Please.. Don’t” 

“How can I live without you, Dad? Please… don’t leave me!” she cried and cried. Lain silently stood there while looking at Elvira, who was crying without stopping. Then he slightly moved his head and signaled Alec. Soon after, Alec slowly walked upstairs without grabbing anyone’s attention. Alec was no different than Lain. He was similar to Lain, and every man and woman feared him, too. Including alphas of other packs. 

“Why? Why.. this thing happened to us? What have I done wrong to deserve this… firstly mom left me and now you….” buried her face against Seamus’s cold neck, Elvira cried, not knowing how to release the pain in her heart. After crying for so long, she slowly raised her head and looked at the maids and warriors around her before turning her head to Lain, who was looking at her. 

“You murderer! Can’t you live without killing people? YOU BEAST!” she screamed at him again as she stepped towards him and slapped him hard across his face for another time. Elvira failed to endure the pain, so she was unaware of what she was doing.
