The dead air inside circulates around the car. Lissie's breathing hitched as Colton's nasty stares remained on her. In response, Colton lit up a cigarette inside his car, deliberately irritating Lissie's nose.
“Are you happy now that you've annoyed the sh*t out of me?” Lissie asserted in an annoyed voice.
Frustrated, Lissie pushed the driver seat a little using her right foot whilst fixing the button on her top.
A sly smirk appeared in Colton's face. He seemed proud of himself. He opened the window a little and threw the cigarette away.
“Give me all the relevant information you have for Louis. Make sure to delete all the copies otherwise—” She was cut off shut when Colton leaned a little closer near her.
“Otherwise what?”
Lissie was stunned momentarily. Seconds later, Lissie pushed Colton's shoulders off him with an annoyed look. She boldly took out a tooth pick she accidentally saw inside her purse.
A playful smile crept on Colton's face, teasing Lissie with a menacing look. “Oh, God. I'm so scared!” He mocked.
Colton shook his head. He didn't think Lissie hates him to the point she will threaten his life with just a mere toothpick. ‘Does she really think it could save my life in one stroke?’ Colton's playful thoughts made him scoffed.
“You seem to care about him a lot.” He affirmed in a casual way, trying to figure out an answer.
The almighty Colton Vistagra managed to dig up Louis Brown's weakness and dirt. Lissie was astounded the moment Homer showed him the information Colton gathered.
“It's none of your business, Colton.” Lissie's bloodshot tone left a prick on his heart.
Her arrogance fueled the annoyance her ex-husband has. Annoyed, Colton said, “Divorce that bastard immediately, Lissie. I don't want to see him near you again.”
In the midst of his command, a mocking laugh escaped her lips as she crossed her hands in front of Colton. Disbelief reflected in her eyes.
‘And he really thinks I'll follow him just because he said so? This guy is unbelievable. He’s on a different level!’ Lissie affirmed in her mind.
“A little warming, Lissie. Stop provoking me. You know how I burst out, right?”
Out of nowhere, Colton reached her face. He leaned closer to Lissie's cheeks, kissing a partial part of her body before taking his face away momentarily.
Instead of melting, Lissie's flare grew bigger as Colton tried to touch her. “Back off, Colton Vistagra. I'm not the same woman who once loved you anymore. I'm not a puppet, less than an easy girl who would believe all your lies!”
Colton's ballistic, and regal eyes set on her. It was easy for him to intimidate everyone he talks to and Lissie is not an exception. His intense stare made her heart thump violently, the same way how her heart reacts whenever he's near her.
Colton fixed his seat out of the blue. “I suppose you already saw the news flashes on the screen earlier, don't you?” Her mind prompted back at Louis’ words earlier. It was the thing he was talking about before Colton bumped her car!
“What stupid thing did you try to pull?” She was curious, suspicious of Colton's daring move.
She tried to reach out for her phone inside her pocket but to no avail, she remembered she dropped it off on her car.
‘Argh!’ Lissie groaned inside.
“Take a look at this. Just in case you don't have any idea.” He extended his hands, and gave her the iPad.
A hooking headline caught Lissie's attention especially when her name was stated above. Several articles from the exposition yesterday appeared in her eyes alongside with neither positive or negative comments.
“After the accident, the original wife is back! Oh, God. What's happening?”
“Who's your bet? The legal wife or the mistress?”
“Missus Vistagra’s features never changed. She's still pretty, far from Andy Moore's angelic yet deceiving face!”
“Missus Vistagra is such a genius! No wonder Andy Moore's company can't be the number one fashion trend in the city!”
Seeing a bunch of comments made her smirk. After all, the public still favors her.
Three years had passed since her name happened to become the headline again. After the accident happened at the bridge, her name was all around the news, tabloids, and articles. Even if she's abroad, Lissie knew about it. Her abrupt appearance doesn't seek revenge; rather it is to take care of her grandmother's affairs.
Colton's phone buzzed, and Andy Moore's name appeared as a call. It didn't take him a second before Colton ended the call without thinking twice. Lissie Jones’ eyebrows furrowed.
“Am I dreaming? Did I just see you ignoring your obsessed fiancé?” Lissie affirmed in a mocking tone.
She knew her abrupt appearance sent flabbergast to everyone, especially to the whole Vistagra family and Andy Moore.
Colton ignored his question then said, “Aren't you bothered by the news?”
“Why would I?” Lissie shrugged her shoulders. “Jesus, it's just news!” Lissie gracefully hoisted her hands and fixed the strands of her hair. Over these past few years, the media shared a lot of things about Bellissima Victoryn’s success, hardships, and disappointments— to which Lissie never gave a fuck about.
Regardless of the countless rumors circulating around, Lissie's nonchalant face remained intact. She held her ground, and showed him zero percentage as if she would give a damn. She has already moved on, accepted everything, but she didn't anticipate Colton's drawbacks. “So what if I sue you and Mr. Brown for adultery for adultery, would you still have the face to look at me? We're still legally married after all, Lissie.” His shocking announcement made her stunned.
Lissie blinked her eyes three times. “I sent you an electronic divorce papers, Colton! Don't tell me…”
Colton scoffed. “Oh, my dear little wife. We've been married for how many years and yet you still don't know me. I don't just blindly sign things, Lissie. Otherwise my poor decision making would lead me, my family, and the company in great danger.”
Their eyes fixated with each other, a compelling staring challenge eloped the two. Expecting Lissie to react violently, Colton's eyebrows furrowed when Lissie rested her back at the headrest and glanced at Colton in a menacing way.
“Seeing we're still married to each other, what's the difference of your marriage with Any Moore? It makes you guilty too. And I have the right to sue you.”
Tension filled the two inside the car. After all, Lissie still has the energy to tease Colton in a mocking way. “Oh, God! Apologies, Mr. Vistagra. I forgot you're not married yet. Engaged I should say. You're off the hook legally, but come to think of it. If the public finds out Andy Moore is less than a fiancé and more as your mistress, how well can you take care of her disdained reputation? As far as I can remember, your most cherished company will be stained with shame, and if my guess is right, it wouldn't only cost you a million… but billions, Colton.”
Lissie was bothered. She’s thinking on what ground Colton might have pulled after declining him. She never has done this before and it might affect her daily life. She has always been following him ever since and never did once Lissie ignored Colton’s orders. He’s a domineering man. He wants everything he says will be followed. Colton has a high pride, is egoistic and hates strong, empowered women- which turned out to be Lissie. One moment, Louis came out of his room with a luggage in his hand. Surprised, Lissie stood up, worried. “Where are you going?” She inquired using her softest voice. Colton sighed heavily and gave Lissie his softest expression. “I’m going back to Southfolk City, Lissie. I had enough time here and it's time to navigate back what I left back in the south.” Unhurriedly, Lissie panicked. What could be the reason why he’s moving out of the blue and without giving me a heads up prior to leaving? She knows something is up! It must be Colton, the wicked, who urged h
Both of them are sitting in the dining area. The two were busy eating their breakfast whilst silence crept in the whole room. Louis was making his coffee whilst Lissie was deeply ogling at the divorce paper Colton sent her last night. ‘God, Lissie. You're stressing yourself too much!’ Lissie affirmed in her mind whilst massaging both her temple, looking a bit tired and stressed. “So what did you guys talk about last night?” Louis broke the silence eloping them. Louis was intrigued. He may not say it directly but he's worried about Lissie. When Colton had already left, Rogelio, the guard, called Louis that someone was making a scene. He checked the CCTV himself when he went home and found out it was Colton all along. Worried, Louis came home early, leaving the party and his friends behind only for him to find Lissie peacefully sleeping inside her bedroom. His heart was at peace seeing she doesn't have any scratches or burns. He's glad Colton did not force her doing extremities beca
Cindy had always been distant towards Lissie ever since she wedded his son, Colton. She never felt that Cindy was affectionate towards her. Colton's mother didn't give a damn when they were still in their process of marriage, yet Cindy's treatment toward Lissie left her utterly confused. Lissie can’t figure out if Cindy favors her or the other way around. Perhaps Cindy just doesn’t give a damn about her existence. Later on at the villa, she bumped into Louis. He was standing resolutely across Lissie. He absolutely waited for her arrival. Lissie heaved a sigh as the woman jumped on the couch. Her feet ache and the mixed emotions she bears all throughout meeting with the Vistagra’s lingers inside her heart. It bothers Lissie so much. “What are you looking at?” she inquired, hoisting her eyebrows whilst looking at Louis. He’s been carefully watching Lissie for minutes now! It annoys her. Louis took a deep breath and sat across from Lissie. “Nothing, I am just worried about you.” Lou
Lissie was extremely flabbergasted. Before Lissie could pull her thoughts, Christian pushed through his words— cutting the woman's freedom to speak. “I'll be brutally honest. I'm not in my best condition. My time is running out and I might say goodbye anytime but before that happens, I want to be with you.” “Grandpa, I…”“I've endured too much pain since I lost you, sweetheart. I don't think I could suffer another pain again if you divorce my grandson. All I want is to be happy, for our home to attain happiness filled with life and laughter.” His words exactly stabbed Lissie straight to her heart. She was taken aback. Lissie struggled to convey her protest because she doesn't want to disappoint her grandpa nor make him sad. She loves him so much! Old Mr. Vistagta held Lissie's hand. “I know it's such a big request. Your future is on the line,” he affirmed. “But the idea of you leaving my household breaks my heart. Besides, you're the only lady of the mansion I only want. Freeing yo
It was hard for Lissie to sleep inside her room. Memories lingers in her mind like bumping cars outside the street. She was just staring blankly at the ceiling with her eyes widened. Her body is tired but her spirit is still awake. Minutes later, familiarizing herself back to her old room, Lissie fell into a deep slumber. Her body adjusted, it was far different from her bed in her unit but she's comfortable enough to fall asleep. The next day, old Mr. Vistagra and his grandson Colton shared the dining table together, eating the breakfast Cindy and the housekeeper prepared. “This salad is good for you. Mind you, I woke up early to give you this.” Cindy affirmed whilst getting a small scoop for Christian. Behind them was Kaleb, who was teary-eyed seeing Christian and Colton are back at the same spot again. “It's glad to see you joining breakfast after five years, Mr. Vistagra. I'm glad you're back.” Kaleb greeted him with compassion in his voice. Lissie's absences for the past few
There was a dead atmosphere at the Vistagra's dining area. The place was filled with silence but the tension with each family member was high. Old Mr. Vistagra hasn't attended casual dinners for a long time now which led them into an awkward position. What made everyone quiet as well was because of Colton's abrupt appearance. Cindy didn't like the atmosphere so she pretended to be happy and offered the briskets to the sick old man. “Why don't you try it? I followed the recipe through the procedures in the book our ancestors provided, Christian.” She affirmed with her head high, confident that people inside will like it. “Isn't this also your favorite Lissie?” Lissie's eyes went to her ex mother in law. She wiped her mouth using the table napkin before forcing a flat smile. “Yes.” Cindy put a small portion on her plate. Colton and Callie had their eyes on their mom. The darkness and stern in his eyes didn't vanish. Instead, he was just observing the way Lissie talked with his grandf
