a minute after Tony had left, Skylar got up and headed for the beach. Not to look for Luca, but because she needed time and the calming effects of the waves to reflect on things.

The beach wasn't even half as packed as it'd been in the afternoon since it was evening. The glow of the somewhat dark sky and the crescent moon casted on the ocean made it look like shimmering swathes of jeweled silk.

Skylar chose a spot on the white sand away from the shore and sat down, gazing at the sea as it crashed and fizzled on the shores.

Why was it that her past was coming back to kick her in the ass? First was the situation with Ramiro, and now this.
